Da:I --> goty
Stop complaining lol
I've never heared of a game that gets goty and has major flaws.
You should think about that and maybe the time for you as pc gamer is over. This is not 1999. eat it or die.

Fake GOTY, if you have checked the GOTY website it's all judge instead of votes. EA paid so DAI would win it.

Patch is coming to PC on tueasday and they confirmed It, consoles are ones that are delayed. Consoles need to wait couse Microsoft/Sony have to validate a patch before they release It. It's probably nothing on Bioware's fault, I am pretty sure that patch is ready to go same day as PC just M and S are need time for their own tests.

Read Mark Darrah twitter for info

This is stupid and speaks of worthless favoritism, a PC patch doesn't need to wait for the console patch.

Skyrim

The only flaws I heard about is the console ports and it still wins GOTY the right way instead of paying for it.

This is a limitation of the Frostbite 3 engine.

So I assume they can't do anything about this then...

Lame.

Uh did you miss my post? I replied directly to you with a fix.

... and just for the sake of clarity, frame limits are not determined by an engine per se but by the scene they're trying to render. Obviously inefficient engines will struggle more with complex scenes but the FB3 should not (within reason). I haven't run the script myself but it shows that these were deliberately capped. Something that doesn't make sense because it was bound to irritate PC users with the hardware to run these well beyond 30fps.

Even so, these scenes were poorly optimised for the purpose because they could easily have utilised some specifically designed Culling event. Perhaps this was planned but they ran out of time.

Well, it only took them about a month to patch the game. I guess the question now is what this patch actually has in it? Is it just barebones technical bug fixes or does it start to fix gameplay problems on PC like the mouse/keyboard controls, walk toggle, or the useless Tactical View?

I guarantee it will be technical bug fixes. This is why it was going to be a multiplatform release.

UI issues are pretty substantial and require something less of a patch and more of a redesign.

yeah dont expect gameplay fixes. first the gamebreaking bugs have priority (and thats fine), second they even said the patch is "compressed to the point of slipping" and third gameplay fixes for pc doesnt have to be validated by console QA.

maybe minor things like mousebuttons for keybinds but surely not more

Can you say the otherwise for DAI?
Because I have minor issues with it on my PC. So I can also say it's GOTY worthy, right?
Or is it because it's my opinion and not yours so it became obselete?

Hmmm..  so finally we get something.  (Not on this forum, of course, where Bioware initially started this whole thing...)

Did anyone see this in the preceding tweets?

Wowbeta @wowbeta 5h5 hours ago

@BioMarkDarrah lol, we game modders saw one patch on the game folders already but don't worry, my lips are sealed :)

Mark Darrah @BioMarkDarrah 5h5 hours ago

@wowbeta true. Tried to be as clear as I could in 140 characters

So, I have not looked over at the site where the modding is going, but what I get from the above 2 tweets is that the release build (which was dated Nov 7th, pre-Gold announcement correct?) has an patch "folder" already existing in the code.

What I would like to know is does that means that prior fixes were already included, or were already anticipated and it has taken till now to release them?

That GOTY award is juded by international media which can be bought not voted by gamers so it legitimacy is questionable.

there is an update folder in the game directory and there is even something in it. but just use common sense, maybe it was a release patch or maybe some minor fixes that werent QA'd.why the hell should they delay a working fix thats already there. beware, hysteria is like a virus and highly infectious :D

Yes, any game award not voted has a high chance of being paid to win.

I think the answer is that prior to their 1 month extension they were ready for a day 1 patch.
