At least voting can't get paid off unlike judging, if the game is good it will of course sell more so the most purchase games are the best games on the market. Don't need to rant and say voting is worst than judge when it's not.

First, I specifically said that I'm not sure whether "voting is worst than judge" or not, just that it's not all rainbows and butterflies either. Second, because it can't get paid off it doesn't mean it can't be rigged. Third, I did say that for some people "most sold" and "best" are almost synonims, but by that logic "generic fps\sports title of the year" would win every. single. freaking. year. 

Argue all you want, but popular doesn't always means good.

The original Titan is slower than a GTX 970, while the Black is somewhat faster. A Titan-Z may do 4K nicely, but so would much cheaper solutions like a Radeon R9 295X2, GTX 780Ti in 2xSLI, or even 2 GTX 970's.

I bought my Titan from a friend a while back for a very good deal. A deal I wasn't going to pass up   even though I know that the setups you mentioned are superior and cheaper.

If your logic was true, Call of Duty and WoW, as another poster has already said, would be GOTY every year. And neither of those franchises have GOTY material, by any stretch of the imagination. Not even WoW's WoD expansion is enough to reach that level.

 

Heck, if they counted gameplay time as well, League of Legends would be fighting for GOTY too! And that game is bad by every definition of the word (doesn't help that I also strongly dislike the MOBA genre as a whole ).

I think a REAL pc gamer's biggest concern would be the lack of modding.  But that's probably greedy EAs fault instead of Biowares.   There are too many horrible things about this game we are forced to endure, with no way to mod them out like we could with Skyrim.

 

Guess I better turn myself in to the PC Gamer Police so they can revoke my Real PC Gamer™ license. I'm way more concerned about the CTDs that prevent me from playing Dragon Age: Inquisition altogether than whether or not I can give my character a pretty, new hairstyle.

OK, so they are playing it on XBox, but it crashes to a Win7 desktop.

 

And they both seemed very accustomed to the crashing, so if it's doing it in their own offices, and on the console versions, then they are surely aware of the issue.

Was trying to infer sarcasm in what I said, even though I know of many people who would agree that LoL is terribad. The community is a large part of that reasoning.

Oh god that game. I remember playing that a long time ago on my cousin's N64. A waste of a whole night... even after only an hour of playing, I spent the rest of the night with my senses reeling from the revulsion that game invoked in me

Maybe not, but voting players for the All Star Team and voting a game for Game of the Year would work the same. Everyone just voting for their favorite instead of actually being objective on the matter of it being a GOOD game.

 

No its not, for one thing the NBA teams will be around for years while new games come out every year and will be outdated a few years later and so it is not a candidate for GOTY one year later after released.

What the heck does a NBA game have to do with computer games ??? Computers games don't get injured ????

. The All-Star team is meant to be composed of the best players in the NBA but it usually isn't the reason being that there is open voting for who is voted onto the team which results in nothing more than a popularity contest where guys who are clearly not the best players because of injuries or being pastor prime wind up on the team anyway.

The same thing happens anytime that a website or whatever runs a open voting game of the year contest the best games do not wind up winning the most popular games do. It is substantially better to go with judges who have actually played all of the games I can make an accurate comparison without a devolving into a popularity contest.

With the understanding that I'm dropping a fair bit of nuance: They start off talking about the Hinterlands being relatively less interesting than the rest of the game and move on to other issues, like the poor tactical camera, not benefiting too much from being open-world. Comparisons get made to MMOs and it to a certain extent being a single player TOR.

It's 11:45~ish if you just want to drop into their conversation and will cost you about 40-50 minutes to listen to the more meaningful parts of it.

If I were picking a single quote for sparknotes that I think would probably summarise it: At 43 mins or so TB seems to largely his take up as, "I do like it, and it's certainly better than than the second one. [However,] I'd be happier with areas that were half the size with half the quests and twice the work put into them."
