One big request from me. Please, please, disable hotbar, when not in combat!

Most of the time it is useless and it is just ui clutter

Let us admire world you created

I think you can do that: go to options, interface, hud visibility

nop HUD visibility is only health bar. Nothing else disapear. You can set Quest log to fade when inactive though.

I wanted to take some screenshots but never got to hide ALL UI so I didn't...

Once again, something they missed while developing the game for console only ;)

There's a way to do this, although I wish it was just a toggle with a key, but anyways, open the console (tilde), type ui, tab to get the full string and switch from 1 to 0. Enjoy!:)

Good to know. I really hope a toggle walk/run keybinding is included in this patch. I know it's important to many, even essensial to some.

this patch is the first step for BW redemption. I hope it will really improve things and allow BW to work furthermore on UI, controls etc

They seems to acknowledge the problems on PC at least so we'll have to wait & see I guess.

it was worth bitching and raging for 236 pages x)

I beg to differ.

I'll never again preorder a Bioware game. This is the last time they'll get any money blind, from me. Next time I'll be damn sure to keep my cash in my wallet and wait out their new releases to see exactly what the reality is, not to trust their "By PC Gamers, For PC Gamers" lies.

We still don't have an ETA on when 'PC Controls' will be brought up to scratch fully and given its Christmas in a couple of weeks, I'd say its doubtful we'll see this finished before late January/early February.

DA:I isn't a shooter. It's not like you can play it, then get it patched and enjoy it more because of better controls. The content is linear, when you've seen it you've seen it and there's little incentive to play through again. This isn't some deep RPG experience like Divinity Original Sin, promoting replays and different avenues of gameplay (stealth, trickery, combat, etc). It's an action/shooter with a chat wheel.

I 100% agree! It gets hidden for the Controller UI, why not for the PC UI as well?

No, that only hides the Character avatars in the top left.

I hope so too. Will be sorely disappointed if it is not there. I'm holding off progressing the main quest lines because of this...

I am holding the main plot because of the gender bug, which will be fixed in this patch I hope. Too tired of hearing "My lady Inquisitor".

Same here, I am sick of hearing NPCs referring to me as a lady, whenever that happens all the immersion and fun I'm having just goes down the drain. I really, really hope it will get patched today!

Any thoughts on my idea of merging Tactical cam with pause unpause guys?

It's not a bad idea, currently the system is generally confused.

e.g. Toggles.

- pressing 't' enters tactical mode and pauses the game. Pressing 't' again exits tactical mode, but does not unpause the game.

- zooming out enters tactical mode and pauses the game.  Zooming in, just zooms in.  To leave tactical mode you need to mess around on the keyboard.

On PC 't' should pause/unpause, whilst zoom simply shouldn't have anything to do with entering/leaving tactical mode.

The current system of pause isn't that bad, it's good to have the possibility to freeze the action while out of tactical view and your idea would make it impossible to "play" in tactical view at all if the time is frozen. So both actions HAVE to be separate, as to how to trigger it that's an other question, but currently I think those are the best options, you are not forced to use T or zoom, both works, and you can control the time differently aswell. Plus you can remap the keys so what is the problem really ?

The logical thing to do as consumers if we want respect - which is basically all on this thread wanted (yes even the more vocals, e.g. Pen-and-Paper) - is to STOP PRE-ORDERING. For big AAA-games, devs don't need our support before a product is finished. EA is making 2+ billion dollars in revenue and profit in the hundreds of millions each year.

Going after the pre-order money (= hype) is the real explanation of the kind of bullshit videos and marketing practices that really ****** people off. And for me, that really explains the aggressiveness of people on this thread or others.

I haven't seen ONE "flamer" or hater on this thread who wasn't shot down by the community in at most one comment page.  All I've seen is grown-ups being rightly pissed-off by dishonesty in commerce and saddened that the gaming industry is behaving like the worst clichés ever drawn about big bad corporations.

meh... ok, waiting another year then :F

don't get me wrong - i'm happy they didn't ignore PC community and take our whining seriously. i'm just little disappointed that the ETA of the game i would like to play is unknown.

from what i've gathered, without spoiling myself too much, the story and world are amazing. probably i'll have an issue or two about the plot, linearity and freedom as i always do.

i just cannot understand why the problem i have with this game lies elsewhere, why the experience is ruined by the controls/combat/ui/ai/... because those things were done pretty good in previous releases. it wasn't perfect, far from it - DA2 was bad, but it was playable and non-intrusive.

even it's a bit more action-oriented than classical (isometric and whatnot) - that's fine, because i knew i can play the way i wanted - slow preparation and fast execution, not brainless button mashing - since DAI's main selling point was 'tactical camera' - i'm a fan of DA:O, i like DA2 story (not much else). i wouldn't be interested in DAI at all if they didn't claim to 'return to roots'

anyway... another year and maybe those annoying, little things will magically disappear

I have an Alienware M17x R3, which has both an AMD HD6990m graphics chip and the intel HD3000 on the Sandy Bridge i7 processor.

I cannot get the game to recognise that I want to use the 6990m, it always runs (crap) on the intel GFX. I have tried with the Catalyst 14.9 and 14.11 beta2 driver sets. I've set all the power settings to max performance, and assigned the high performance GPU in the AMD control panel.

Any ideas, or do I just need to wait for the patch Bioware or updated drivers from AMD?

Cheers!

WHAT TIME IS THE PATCH ????????????????????????

Ask in Twitter.

Their official forums are not really official. It's like a (as someone said) a PR quarantine. We should've annoyed them on Twitter weeks ago.

I hope, like you, that the patch is in an hour or two, tho! Or less ....

I'm not sure. I have a processor with gpu core and a separate gpu either (nvidia though), and as far as I know it's up to pc to switch between them when needed. You can set it in bios settings (it doesn't called bios anymore, but you probably understand what I mean).

So usually my pc uses processor gpu (good for your electricity bills), but when I run a 3d application like pretty much any game, including DAI, it switches to another gpu.

There was a similar problem with another game I had--it was one of the recent Deus Ex games.

Look for Drivers under the control panel and select displays.  I would disable the Intel one just leaving the AMD one.  That might work.

The game does certainly have a few control issues. If you look at Mass Effect 3, the system in that was pretty good. You could hide behind cover and didnt have to click and hold the right mouse to look around. This is especially and issue in the multi player!!

Please fix the mouse look as a matter of urgency!!

Performance wise, the game does feel a little laggy at times, so improvements there are welcome.

I also had issues loading some saved games, with it resulting in the game closing and crashing to desktop...

Thanks. I tried that but it just crashed DA:I on startup. Presumably because it was trying to use a graphics device which was disabled!

Well, I figured out something about why the menu is so fiddly. Should have seen it earlier.

When you sell something the menu cursor repositions to the middle of the list instead of the item below the one you sold. This is because the software still thinks you are using a controller at that point. The selection target is always the center on controllers. Instead of moving the selecting cursor you move the list. Just like the character selection or the skills select are. Pure console UI there.

I really hope they patch this nonsense, although I'm not expecting this for todays patch.
