@Mesungen: You gotta relax the game is pretty good and fine with a few bugs. Nothing major.
My game is a slideshow, completely unplayable.
I'd say that's major.

(16 GB ram, gtx 780, I5, samsung evo SSD )
Those are nice and all, but is the i5 one of the quadcore ones?
Isn't that one of the system reqs? Quadcore, I mean ...

So apparently the patch is said to fix:
-
Stability – Various crashes, freezes, audio/voice glitches, and many stability improvements.
-
Gameplay – Conversations, quests, plot states, combat, UI, camera, controls, follower/enemy AI and path finding, exploits, radar, and search.
-
Multiplayer – In addition to some of the gameplay improvements listed above, multiplayer fixes also cover areas such as animations, game mode bugs, stat reporting, and stability/crash fixes.
-
PC – Numerous control & UI fixes, fixes to some hitching, improved Mantle performance, graphical glitches.
And they want to tackle the whole K&M control issue in the next big patch together with the party banter bug
Got that from a German Game Magazine website.

I'm so excited by this. I want to start my nightmare playthrough NOW!!!
But, I am not in denial. BW said that, ment that, hoped for this and that - let's just see what the patch brings ![]()

Finally the patch time comes, I've been playing a lot of multiplayer recently and the amount of skill bugging out scenarios is crazy annoying mostly along with disconnections and client crashes, really looking forward to future content though now as well.

yes it's a quad core.
Here are the recommended specs from the site :
CPU Speed: AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHzMine is 3.1Ghz so I suppose it should suffice. I know I7 is better but my wallet didn't allow it ![]()
what happens is: the game starts up all is fine, one or two minutes later total freeze, i need to ctrl alt del and end task. I was able to run the benchmark a few times after I disabled the "origin in game" workaround but is was still very random.

It's very vague. When you say slideshow, what exactly do you mean?
Does your PC meet the minimum specs?
Do you overclock?
Are your drivers up to date?
Are you running any background processes?
Have you checked your PC for spyware?
Have you checked for faulty RAM?
Is your cooling ok? Check if your CPU/GPU is overheating causing them to throttle down and cause the game to slideshow. (I know because I have experienced this before)
When was the last time you opened up your PC and cleaned it?
If you say that "Oh, all my other games work."
That doesn't really mean anything. Those games could have worked fine even when there was a problem with the computer in the first place. Except that DA:I brought the problem to light in this case.
I've worked in IT for the past decade and I have seen almost everything.

No DirectX 11.1 support, posted this on "Technical Support" forums but was advised to post it on BioWare forums.
Image here says it all: https://i.imgur.com/KFnvAA4.png
this was obtained by making a "user.cfg" in the DA:I install directory and putting "Render.DrawScreenInfo 1" in it.
I've tried all kinds of strings to try and enable 11.1, I know frostbite 3 supports it and it works fine in BF4.
RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
Render.Dx11Enable 1
Render.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
Render.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
GstRender.Dx11Enable 1
GstRender.Dx11Dot1Enable 1
GstRender.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 1
Still same results... still reports 11.0, and yes I'm on Windows 8.1 x64 with latest DirectX updates.
Also interesting is the Job Threads, my friend with a 6-core reports his showing 4 job threads while my 4-core reports 2 job threads.

Did you overclock your system? The frostbite engine is very sensitive to overclocks. I had a few crashes and hangs when playing Battlefield while CPU was overclocked.
If you didn't, can you try disabling your audio device in control panel. If the game doesn't freeze, then it could be outdated sound drivers. One last thing you can try is to try run on 8GB of RAM by removing the other 8GB RAM.
Let me know if one of the above works.

Doesn't an Intel i7 come with Turbo Boost?
That means it'll clock itself as needed to the maximum the Ghz it can get.

- Exceeds reccommended (FX-8320, 8GB G.Skill DDR3-1866, AMD HD-7970, ASUS M5A99FX Motherboard)
- Yes, but I've tried downclocking all to stock
- They were, I'm now in the process of updating to the newest AMD Chipset and Video drivers
- I've closed most of the background processes
- No, I doubt that's it though
- No, it's only a few months old and hasn't given me any issues in the past
- Cooling is fine, CPU stays under 45c, Motherboard lower than that, GPU stays under 55c
- Like, a week or two ago. The side of my case is open right now and I see no real dust build up yet
There is no change in the framerate between Ultra settings and Very Low settings. Only thing that stops the slideshow is if I set the resolution scale to 25% at low settings. I used to get the DirectX_Hang error almost instantly until I edited my registry to wait longer for the GPU to respond.
EDIT:
When I say slideshow, I mean 1 frame every few seconds. In cutscenes, and in game. Unless I'm looking at the ground, than the framerate nearly reaches 200..
EDIT2:
New drivers make no difference :/

Yeh, I'd be furious. Let's just hope the PC-patch fixes this. There are tons of ppl with high-end PC's specs that can't even play the game. High-end PC's surpassing the requirements by far. I just hope that they include some UI-fixes with the hardware/driver fixes ![]()
In a way, I feel spoiled, for actually being playing the game for tens of hours without any crashes or glitches.
I'm on i7 and 780gtx with no OC - and the hours I played untill I decided to wait for UI-fixes, I had no problems with game crashing or any other "anomaly". Actually, the game looked amazing and the vsync was flawless ... (cutscenes excluded, they are choppy as I was "promised").
This included the "Cheat Engine" zoom (AMAZING!) and the RMB-toggle with Autohotkey.

the game flow is certainly not enjoyable; the "tactical" camera was bought in Afganistan, the party members mill on their own (many times) and the whole experience is of "hack and slash".

I would like the tactical camera to be something more in the style of the first game.

@the pepper
dont discuss with han master, its so unnecessary like talking to a wall
here is the question, what is fixing the controls?
total overhaul to dragon age tactical cam (will not happen, at least not yet)
rebindable mouse keys (pretty sure)
when people try to keep their expectations linked to reality there is much less disappointment.
Fixed is doing the whole dam thing from scratch removing all that console casual nonsense and giving us a dam PC UI instead(inventory on a single screen instead of multiple bloody pages, when you open a chest and highlight a piece of armor/weapon etc a info image should come up giving you a comparison to the piece you have equipped instead of you having to grab it then go into your inventory see if its better and if not destroy it!.
Furthermore remove that stupid console limitation of 8 ability's on the hotbar replace it with a hotbar like DAO/DA2 where you can map upwards of 20+ spells/talents and unified camera movement controls for tac cam and pause mode including screen edge mouse scrolling. If they actually meant what they said in that "made by PC Gamers for PC Gamers then these things and many more are not optional they are mandatory anything less and that video is nothing but a deliberate lie and false advertising.

Give it a rest.
They promised patches. The first one is here. They've promised more and they've given us what details they could. Complaints are valid but at some point the bitching has to stop.
This is the most ungrateful fanbase. Its no wonder the games are in the state they're in. As a former tech support employee, I'm thrilled I don't have to deal with people like you.
I stopped complaining about a week ago, some person wrote about the patch that he -dislikes the way they worded it and how its avoiding admitting their mistakes-
I basically said that I couldnt give less of a crap on their words if there are no actions to back them up, if the Patches are addressing the issues then I couldnt care less about anything around it.
How about you give it a rest, Looking to btch about other people "supposedly" bitching, I am thrilled tech supports who look to whine at stuff that arnt even there isnt common place where I work at. Self righteous kiddo.

One of the major culprits are the review sites and game-press; the majority of them is still acting as if nothing is wrong with the PC game. Only one big German review site mentioned problems and not by naming the game, giving a link to another big review site (that has to buy the games in the shop and have late reviews, as a punishment for not pushing the marketing in few past games).
Has it occurred to any of you that maybe the gaming press isn't widely reporting the issues you're experiencing because the issues aren't as widespread as this echo chamber of a forum makes you think they are?
Don't get me wrong, it sucks that you're having problems and I really hope they get resolved, but I don't think you're going to get anywhere by accusing Bioware and the gaming press of committing fraud just to vent your frustration.

No, we won't get notes. They're going to make the changes and then we have to figure out what changed; they do this because they like to watch us scramble, guess, and argue on the forums. It's intentional and they are cruel taskmasters who created the game out of sadism, not a desire to share and entertain.

I didn't overclock, and tried everything you suggested. I had a little sparkle of hope when I disabled the soundcard, I was able to bench 3 times ! ![]()
Guess i'll be patient for the patch like King Dragonlord suggests. But a little note to that, how would you feel if people sold you something for 70 € and you come home with your new toy, you plug it in and it only blows smoke out of its "eye" I think people are entitled to some frustrations and need to ventilate it on forums. The customer is the real King Mr Dragonlord
don't forget that

And people like you are why games are released in this disgraceful state you are too easily pleased and lack the backbone to hold these people and their company to account, when I pay £60 for a product to run on a PC that runs Star Citizen in its pre alpha state in 2560x1440 on Ultra without breaking a sweat
I expect they product I paid for to bloody work,to not crash every 10 minutes I expect them to actually put some thought into making sure that the PC port has a UI that works with the Default input devices(KB/M)especially when they did it correctly on the 2 previous games. When its evidently clear that some tool who forgot that all PC's use a KB/M spent all of 5 seconds doing "Quality Control"
In short I expect them to do their damn job and deliver the product as advertised ! what may be acceptable for console casuals like yourself is not acceptable for REAL PC GAMERS ! clearly from your defense of this shambolic practice you are not one so go elsewhere.

Console Casual. Heh, aren't the Pc gamers the ones who do the most key rebinding?
If you ask me, playing the game on customized controls makes you just as much a casual as "playing on a console" does in your opinion.
Also consoles have some of the hardest games out there.
