Could you tell us what it's been decided will not be included in a future patch?  I know there are some things that are being attempted to do, but you must have some idea of what this community wants/needs to see in a patch, but it probably has decided been against doing for whatever reason.  (ex. mouse movement, walk function, mouse bindings to extra buttons, etc.)

Fecking detailed TOOLTIPS on the hotbar.

As predicted, the patch came and crash fixes aside, it contained nothing of substance. Ah well, moving on...

I think crash fixes are more important than fixes you cannot enjoy because the game crashes.

I just downloaded the Patch and I agree to the Terms and Conditions, it then tells me it's finalizing the update, after a few seconds it then says Download failed. It has done this repeatedly even if no other internet browser is active and even after removing the unofficial 60 FPS fix so not to conflict with anything but it still doesn't work.

Someone please help me or has anyone had this issue and found a fix.

Wonder why only one person has mentioned that tooltips are so damn important and still missing.

Could it be "can't" in a motion sickness sense?

I just don't think we should discount people who may have legitimate issues with the run animation.

It's not the vibe I got from the post, but it's certainly a fair point... I shouldn't make assumptions.

and with talk of how patch 3 will have the control/ui fix we don't even know how long that will take, another month or 2 or 3; how long will it take for the pc verison of the game to reach an acceptable state

Seeing how it got worse in some aspects with patch 2, I'm not sure I'm in a hurry for the next one ;-)

i wouldn't be surprise if after half a year the game is still in such an sorry state and bioware just abadons it and the same people will purchase bioware's next DA game forgetting everything that happened with this one

I'm afraid you're right.

But what really boggles me is the shiny hair reviews out there which praise this unfinished game so highly. Sure it's good, but I really sense most reviews lack honesty and objectivity, in its current state this game is just okay, and the bad communication, support, and visibility are very bad signs (thankfully some of that has been rectified after 3 weeks, they now have a blog apparently).

So how am I supposed to do next time, as a customer? Usually I read a few reviews, look at the gameplay to forge an opinion. Here it's not possible anymore, and users' opinion on Metacritic or the forums aren't good either, it's the other side of the spectrum, reading a few posts would discourage anyone. I'm tempted to say I won't continue this experience with Bioware as it seems to be going down since the end of the NWN series. Now it's a console simplified RPG.

This scene has popped into my head and pretty much sums up what has happened since patch 2

Seems to me that while we still have a lot of concerns (no RMB+LMB=move, no tooltips, is camera still snapping on characters on tac cam?, terrible AI, etc) this thread has become a walk toggle/bad hair thread. Wonder how much the developers will listen to us (not that they have been) after all these ranting.

I don't know, but IMO this whole situation is pretty far from ''how it should be.''

I agree there are some things that are not how they should be. But you're taking my "how it should be" out of context.  I was referring specifically to game-breaking bugs taking priority over feature complaints. I stand by that.

While I have many issues with the current state of DAI, for those of you looking for a walk toggle there is at least some sign that they are attempting to make this happen:

http://forum.bioware...rns/?p=17902414

Whether or not they are ABLE to make it work....I have no idea.

EDIT: which is more reassurance then I have for the issues that concern me (mouse movement/looting/mouse binding)

If only some people here were actually patient. Just prepare for the obvious shitstorm from the people that just can't be satisfied.

If they had done their job correctly in the first place and made a product that was fit for purpose we wouldn't need to "be patient" and why should we "be patient" we paid money for a product that turns out to not be as advertised we owe them nothing, they owe us alot since it is our purchases that keep them in their jobs.

That's a hilarious level of exaggeration. Preposterous as well.

Let's instead highlight for a moment "Patch 2 includes the first range of fixes towards addressing the feedback we’ve received on the PC controls[.]"

So no, this is not Mass Effect 3 all over again (vastly different group of people anyway) and yes, there is concrete action being taken. They're saying they're committed to seeing what we think of this from the complaints we've given and that this will not be the ONLY time they listen to us.

Relax.

Why pray tell should we take what they say as the truth?

They said this was a game "Made by PC Gamers for PC Gamers" it is not.

They said people will love the PC UI,turns out its so horrible that a large number of people hate it.

They don't bother to post updates about patches on their own bloody forum till a shitstorm happens and even then they post nothing of substance beyond meaningless damage control prattle.

Instead of addressing the issue on their official facebook page the post nonsense such as "what is your favorite multiplayer level" or what character class will you be using" clearly they are more concerned with getting more sales from the unaware instead of fixing the mess they made.

Post DA2 they made numerous "assurances" that things like this would not happen and yet they have happened,so right now what "they say" is worthless, talk is cheap time for action has long since past.

Haven't played enough to know if the crashing on cutscenes is fixed, but performance-wise the game seems to be exactly the same (terrible fps drops in some spots) with the difference that now hair looks awfully greasy no matter what settings you use.
If they fixed a lot of small bugs, great, but this patch sure does a lot less than I expected it to. Ah well, there's always patch 3.

Patched the game with no problems via origin. Controls are still terrible. I upgraded mb / cpu / gpu for this game ... I'm not playing this until its back to DA 1 / 2 controls.

Can we please have a release date for the PC controls patch?

I thought that would be coming in this patch. Needless to say, like many others, i'm very disappointed. I feel like it's reasonable to ask for an ETA for the control fixes, which should have taken precedent over 'shiny hair on lower graphics settings' or console bug fixes (After all, the reason people are so upset stems from the fact that you basically designed the controls around console.).

If the controls aren't fixed, I'm personally going to be getting a refund and as such, i'd like to see what BioWare is going to do to fix things as soon as possible.

I do agree that a walk toggle would be good, but seriously dude? Is it that much of a dealbreaker? To each their own, I guess. They already said the next patch will be focused on adressing PC specific issues.

When they don't say anything, people bash them. When they explain their methodology and plans for upcoming patches, people bash them anyway. Do you see where I'm going?

What I see is the PC port of what they said was a game "made by pc gamers for pc gamers" that was launched in a state that shows zero consideration was given to PC users instead of giving us a PC UI they lazily reskinned the console UI complete with all its archaic limitations. And yes a walk toggle is a bloody big deal when it was in DAO and DA2 AT LAUNCH! yet where is it here ?

If they had to use a engine from a company other then their parent company EA some of these things might be excusable this is EA's own bloody engine that has been in Battlefield 4 which has been released for over 1 Year and your telling me that this mess what they have charged us $60 for is acceptable? Well I can tell you it is not when I pay $60 for a game I expect it to bloody work and when they have included things like a UI designed for PC and a walk toggle in the 2 previous games I expect them to put it in this 1 too especially when the release a video prior to launch claiming this to be a game "made by PC gamers for PC gamers"

Pretty underwhelming patch.  Considering the game has been gold since October 31 and was released 3 weeks ago, I was expecting more.  Hopefully the next patch gets here in less than 3 weeks.

I've been lucky enough to be playing with no issues (well, none since I discovered the banter bug fixes) so I thought I'd read up before installng the patch...Thank god I did!

I had a new gaming pc built to spec for this game because my laptop wasn't coping and as bad as the resolution was, the lego hair was a dealbreaker. $1400 later I'm having a blast on high settings with great FPS albeit using a gamepad. If I'd downloaded this patch and got shiny hair as a result...well I don't think I could be held responsible for my actions lol!

Talk about dodging a bullet! Updates OFF and Origin will be offline for the forseeable.

Does anyone else feel l;ike Ashton Kutcher will show up at any minute and cry 'Punked'?

Hi,

Just want to say that I'm really enjoying the game, I think its a masterpiece. I've been playing RPGS a long time so .... yea, I know my stuff!

I have some suggestions to improve the pc version,.

1. Insert a DISABLE/ENABLE PARTY AI button on the in game UI, this is a classic from old IE games like Baldurs gate so you guys are familiar with it. Basically sometimes the AI is just too simplistic or annoying to be of any use in a battle that you are trying to implement a strategy in. I'd like the party to be able to kick ass with minimal effort from me sometimes ... and then when the going gets tough (or I get creative) I'd like to remove their AI completely and orchestrate their every move. Because lets face it.. I do a much better job than the simplistic behaviours section would allow, and nothing is more annoying than trying to setup a strategy and have your moronic mage run headlong into a suicide situation.

2. If possible, I would appreciate it if the camera could just clip through objects in tactical mode. I find it quite annoying when trying to move around the field and the Y axis will change so violently when it hits something in the air I cannot see (chandelier, archway .. etc.) I often lose track of where I'm looking because of this. I suppose its also the x axis, clearly this was built for a controller to navigate the surroundings... but with a mouse and keyboard you just dont need it to be constricted in such a way.

3. Please add an option to disable the camera jumping to a character in tactical mode when you click on the portrait. A simple fix would be to make it necessary to double click to center on said character. It's very frustrating to have to move the camera constantly when you are setting up strategies.

4. Make WASD keys act like the arrow keys in tactical mode, I only need the functionality of the arrow keys, wasd keys are odd and act strange, navigating with them is frustrating. Having to swap to the arrow keys when in tactical mode is disjointing, and immersion breaking.

5. Introduce select all or some party members, hopefully by a button (for all) and by click and drag (for however many you want). It would be great to tell certain ones to hold position or attack and leave certain party members out of that command.

That's it. I hope someone from bioware sees this, it would only enhance your already masterful game. Thanks for all the hard work! I hope you don't take all the whining in this thread to heart, some people are so entitled its insane.
