660 GTX
8Gigs Ram
i5-3570
Win 7 64bit

now it dosnt say it was DirectX error tho... neither i see a notifcation of Nvidia Drivers failing

Do you mean you see no error or you see an error but it's an nVidia error? If yes there is an error message, what's the message?

So while we are here, on THEIR forum, looking for answers they are on Twitter dispensing platitudes?

If they can't make the time to give use some straight, honest, answers here they could at least get the HELL off twitter and put some effort into fixing this so-called patch.

For some reason everyone seems to have forgotten about this incredibly annoying bug and is complaining about the walk thing

Tactical view force-centering when switching party members is a bug and will be addressed in the next patch. Continuing to monitor feedback.

Well the patch is out and it isn't fixed

bioware can't even do a patch correctly, and this game won GOTY

the judges of the show must of gotten some good BJs from EA/Bioware

there are so many other games that could have won like Bayonetta 2 or Divinty OS, or other games that actuallly can be played and not constantly crash

The person who runs the Twitter account is probably not a programmer or developer, but a social media PR person. "We're looking into it" is probably all they've gotten from the patch team as yet.

I doubt the twitter person can give us more details yet.  That answer is the only thing they can probably say without making promises.

Those are very useless updates.  The game has major stability problems for many and performance issues ---- that should have been the primary focus of this patch.

I have about 100 hours of game time, I'm skipping this patch until there is something worthwhile that doesn't break the game any further as people seem to be reporting.   At least I know the game is "playable" without this patch, not going to risk further performance issues and graphical glitches on top of it lol.

I find it amazing it wasn't released for XB1..... Microsoft probably said hell no, this doesn't work right.  Bioware, you are a great company --- please focus on performance/stability and then you can fine-tune everything else after.  The game does not take proper advantage of systems and for some people it's a stuttery mess even when their systems far exceed recommended specs.

The cutscenes are still choppy as hell. I won't play until it's fixed (if it's ever fixed). The gameplay is smooth but the cutscenes make me feel sick.

After this patch my char looses her make up and eyebrows whenever I use her focus ability. What the hell. I load the game, she looks normal (except the shiny hair), I use focus ability (t. cuts) and magic happens - eyebrows gone, make up gone. ;O

I reported the following problem to EA:

Upon loading the game, the game would begin to stutter intermittently (During exploration + combat has no effect either way), the frequency increasing with time until the game would literally halt, then release, eventually (10 minutes to be exact) rendering all game functions including UI selections to slow down to a stop. The symptoms are exactly the same regardless of graphics settings (Low-Ultra)

I enabled the CPU+GPU graph meter within the game console and took the screenshots below pre-patch and post patch. It appears the intermittent spiking occurring in the pre-patched game is perhaps less severe in peaks but more frequent in the post patch version. The game still eventually halts.

After several unsuccessful troubleshooting steps I was asked to perform by EA, they told me to wait for a patch and driver update. At the moment I'm hoping for a driver update as it seems like the only thing left.

My Rig Specs:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

GPU: GeForce GTX 670

Memory: 16.00 GB RAM

Resolution: 1920x1080 60 Hz

NVIDIA Driver Version: 344.75

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

ok ... I can finally enter the main screen ... only now, or another problem, if I hold the Origin online game to the screen in pg I crascha the game, if the game offline and I crasch, but not affinity because the game I freez, stutters and charge me slowly, now I wonder ... how can a game with minimal settings I lag the same as if there had them at peak performance? and I explained why the main screen I freez every 5-10 seconds? ok what time the game starts (perte and still a big word for the moment) but there are still too many problems in the game, the beautiful and that I wonder how many people who stood in my current situation to play as he did? and absurd! I'm sorry but at the time of going to play there again, I pretend it's released immediately pach a decent make us play all! I demand respect and professionalism!

That's it. I hope someone from bioware sees this, it would only enhance your already masterful game. Thanks for all the hard work! I hope you don't take all the whining in this thread to heart, some people are so entitled its insane.

Wow, entitled? Really? It's true that some people do feel entitled to have the game they paid $90 for ACTUALLY WORK, or be designed for the controls for the system they bought it on...

Some people have no standards i guess.

  • Keyboard & Mouse controls – Patch 2 includes the first range of fixes towards addressing the feedback we’ve received on the PC controls; it cleans things up so you’ll see fewer problems with the current layout. This gives us a more stable base upon which to work. After Patch 2 goes out, our next priority is to improve the PC mouse/keyboard controls further. We’re investigating how to expand on PC usability and functionality to address specific requests from the community. Keep an eye on this thread by Mark Darrah for more updates.

Anyone seen any difference ?

Obviously if the game doesn't work that's different. Most people are complaining about minor issues and calling it the end of the world. Let bioware work on fixing the issues.. they are not idiots and they want us to enjoy the game. They will release fixes as fast as they can, ensuring software works on a large amount of hardware/software combinations is NOT easy at all.

Anyone seen any difference ?

Mouse controls "felt" smoother, + i noticed a new quick-compare menu in the interface. Could be because all settings are on low though now thanks to the patch.

Visually there are no changes to the hud, except for the minimap.

So if you are asking if the game is more playable now with m+kb the answer is no or not by much.

Hey, here's a report!

Since installing the patch, I haven't experienced a single crash!

Not a single one!

Which is amazing!

Also noticed that there's no random lagging in Skyhold! Not in the throne room or in it's "front yard".

Thank you, developers, you've genuinely brightened my month!
