Origin->Game Properties-> -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel Ultra -> Run the game ->25 minutes load time :o -> Shiny hair, bad mesh...  :crying:

Hmmm OK

Can I suggest you try creating a shortcut on your desktop for DragonAgeInquisition.exe and try properties there - note the space after exe  :P This is mine for example...

....\Origin\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel Ultra

Just to check, do you have the settings on your "mesh" to Ultra in your graphics settings as well? You probably have, so forgive me, but it's an easy thing to overlook. I did, the first time. My mesh setting was actually on high and I'd thought it was Ultra. Changed it, all was well.

For others who aren't aware, if the mesh setting is high, medium or low, then the command line must have High Medium or Low to match the mesh setting in-game.

Yes :( I did exactly that. My mesh was on ultra, so I typed Ultra accordingly.

I'll try that. But I don't hold to much hope. Origin's overlay does exactly same thing to game's .exe

At least I had my laughs over greasy hair, so not everything went downhill :D

Of course, there will be a multitude of pc users who will bash this and say it's not fair to Bioware, the pc controls are fine, etc, but honestly, none of them expected what we got regardless of how accepting they might be.  This whole 5 month lead-up to release was absolutely a carefully choreographed effort to hide any part of the pc ui that would raise alarms.  The 2 pc twitch streams we got did a good job not to show people too much, to not dig down too deep into the game.

Blindside.  For many PC gamers.  That said, the pre-patch notes talked about future improvements, requests from the community, etc.  Would be real nice if we got an idea of what they are trying to do.  As opposed to more guessing.

Yeah Brogan, I actually agree and thats kinda why I take a pessimistic approach to all this. Mostly to have a bit of fun in all honesty.

However the vagueness in the Future patch notes is what has me skeptical and to me I read those future promises in the same vein as the hole Made on PC for PC gamers BS.

I'm holding on to a tiny thread of hope based on this paragraph from their upcoming patches announcement:

Keyboard & Mouse controls – Patch 2 includes the first range of fixes towards addressing the feedback we’ve received on the PC controls; it cleans things up so you’ll see fewer problems with the current layout. This gives us a more stable base upon which to work. After Patch 2 goes out, our next priority is to improve the PC mouse/keyboard controls further. We’re investigating how to expand on PC usability and functionality to address specific requests from the community.

Well that's great, applied update, now games stutters and becomes really un-enjoyable to play...

How can I fix this? Can I roll back the update? Or is there any data known on when a hotfix comes out?

Do you have any fixes for those of us PC gamers who can't even open the game in the first place?

Can I completly disable DoF too?

You can, but you'd have to find the commands for that one yourself or google it I'm afraid.

Learn 2 pc

It's clearly your problem, buy a console if you don't want to deal with an updated system, right speccs, required software.

There was a game (command and conquer, now canceled) that used frostbite 3 engine and had a topdown isometric camera and a mouse screen pan. Maybe BW should take a few library's from there and implement them here?

Hah, that was frostbite? I was in that alpha, game looked like sh**, was constantly online (every unit position), with very bad AI, more than half of it was microtransactions and... yeah, it got cancelled alright... Very good selling point for the engine too. Heh. 10/10 argument. The thing barely worked :P

Yah I was going to jump in and defend the engine because I never had any issues with it in Battlefield oddly enough. But then I started looking at the metacritic reviews for Need For Speed...

Can't tell if its EA management torpedoing these games or maybe a true engine difficulty or limitation.

Agreed, it is.  However....   if you present your case in the form of a helpless turtle, how much can you really expect to be helped.

PC is still the master race over the console peasants.

Oh please let's not go there. I own two consoles and a PC. Some games work better for me on a console (driving games, anything AC like), while others I much prefer on the PC.

At the heart of it we're all gamers and we should be united in just how f**king cool games are.

I don't think they gave a specific timeframe. But that's still 49 minutes away. And most workdays end at 6 these days anyhow.

BRAVO! I never understood the point of that "conflict" and I hope I never do.

So... One month in and ....

No further zoom on the tactical cam

No changes on the controls

No changes on the UI

No walk toogle

No auto attack (Seriously how hard is it to make this? Companions are in auto when you don't control them.)

The loot all, option to disable the zoom out to tactical cam, and crash fixes are nice and all... But the game is still the lazy console port it was.

"Made by PC gamers, for PC gamers" they said...

Yeah right....

I know right!!! where is the walk toggle! But after this monumental screw up of a patch this will now probably be on the last spot of the list of things for bioware to do.

I think human beings in their very nature need to belong to some form of tribe and in that be united in some form of aggression towards others not in that tribe.
