I think human beings in their very nature need to belong to some form of tribe and in that be united in some form of aggression towards others not in that tribe.

Kurt Vonnegut theorized in the '70s that people were unhappy in modern society because extended families in immediate reach were so rare anymore. Basically, 3-5 other people just isn't enough to satisfy a person's need for belonging. If he was right, the modern explosion of what he called "granfalloons" makes a lot of sense.

Walk toggle....they are at least working on it   https://twitter.com/...771960187346945

wish they'd tell us what other stuff we've requested that they are working on (mouse movement???)

pulled due "serious" issue, like they forgot or it was cutting in to their back patting for winning GOTY...?

Walking with your character has seirous issues? jesus... that clearly shows it wasn't something they forgot to put into the game on keyboard, shows they just wanted to put it on gamepads, and couldn't bother to make it for keyboards... and then surprise, the PC community says they were misslead and the shitstorm arrives. Guess we, the PC players, were the only ones who didn't see it coming, as Bioware knew it all along.

"....we had to pull it because it had serious issues"

Hmm.

OK, so clearly the pc version was designed without a movement function other than sprinting.  What else might fall under the same category...

Like, it was harder to implement than they thought it would be. That's the general implication of "serious issue".

I think they've been having issues with it since like less than a week after DAI was released.  There's a tweet from Darrah back on like the 25th of Nov that said they were struggling with it.

You're not making me feel better about mouse movement potential :(

I'm on Windows 7 with bad stuttering in cutscenes and dialogue. Is the performance in this regard any better on Windows 8? The gameplay for me is really smooth, but man the stutter in the cutscenes is really bad still.

they did it before in DAO & DAII with a run/walk toggle

shouldn't be that hard, even if the game is designed on FB3, games like BF4 have sprint/walk toggle which is also designed on FB3

so for them to have serious issue, they must be really fked up

You can click to move using tac cam, though it glitches in some areas with some pathfinding bugs, and you still have to deal with the camera zoom/angle itself (which is an issue of its own)

And there should be no reason click to move can't work in non-Tac Cam.

I have yet to see or hear anyone even hint at an explanation why it can't, and if so why it's not an option.

Well my auto update was enabled so I got to experience the patch, other than the first 1 hour of lag in the cut scenes and can't connect to the server it went back to normal afterwards. Still no different in the KB & M controls and I experince bugs.

But....it's a walk toggle. A walk toggle.

If they're struggling with that, well....it says something. Something not positive.

Yeah that's what is puzzling me, why not just bind a key to the script that made your character walk pre-Skyhold? Not to mention this functionality already exists in all platforms except for PC.

Pretty much, no clue how that is a big factor.

Does it exist in the PC version if you are using a controller?

Yes there is a specific scene where you are walking for a few seconds before you start running again, hence why I mentioned it.

EDIT: Oh you mean with a controller, yes you can walk with a controller on PC.

You rather they make sure their hotfix is properly tested? Or do you want to wait until they release the "hotfix for the hotfix for the patch?"

Yes. If you plug in a controller on PC you can walk, jogg and run, like on consoles.

There are 2 moments where you are forced to walk. Right after Haven and

Spoiler

I would assume that the "serious issues" are due to the engine and the difference between a joystick and a toggle. In combination with how combat/animations work, I can think of some issues that might be in the way of a toggle.

EDIT: Oh yes and "they had a toggle in DAO/2" is true, but it was a different engine. So they can't just copypaste the code.
