And every time I try to download it, the download fails immediately... Kinda funny.  That's what I get for being relatively bug-free with this game so far.  Thanks for getting it out so quick though!

Same here.

move forward bindings:

Spoiler

looks like bindings config are little more compicated compared to other games

Can't see much of a pattern other than 0 and 60...

Sets of 4 for each variation... axis, button, negate, & type...  What do you think is the diff between ConceptMoveFB and ConceptMoveForward?

Hey everyone,

The hotfix for Patch 2 on PC is now live. Thanks for all your patience on this, we appreciate it.

Patch halts downloading 1/5 of the way through... SIGH

I reported the following problem to EA:

Upon loading the game, the game would begin to stutter intermittently (During exploration + combat has no effect either way), the frequency increasing with time until the game would literally halt, then release, eventually (10 minutes to be exact) rendering all game functions including UI selections to slow down to a stop. The symptoms are exactly the same regardless of graphics settings (Low-Ultra)

I enabled the CPU+GPU graph meter within the game console and took the screenshots below pre-patch and post patch. It appears the intermittent spiking occurring in the pre-patched game is perhaps less severe in peaks but more frequent in the post patch version. The game still eventually halts.

After several unsuccessful troubleshooting steps I was asked to perform by EA, they told me to wait for a patch and driver update. At the moment I'm hoping for a driver update as it seems like the only thing left.

My Rig Specs:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

GPU: GeForce GTX 670

Memory: 16.00 GB RAM

Resolution: 1920x1080 60 Hz

NVIDIA Driver Version: 344.75

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

You and I have the same rig except I have windows 8.1 and I am not seeing anything that bad.  Did I just get lucky or can the OS make that much of a difference?

Shaking my head on this one... =/

Well, so much for modding it in, was looking for that file

This is beyond a joke now. This is active incompetence.

Yeah it kind of stops at  25%

Perhaps it was too much of a hasty Hot Fix.

Patch loaded, installed. Starting DAI, origin wants me to install the patch. I say 'ok', it installs and launches the game. Nothing happens.

Task manager lists DragonAgeInquisition.exe but the Game doesn't open.

I'll just go to bed now...

From what others have mentioned it's most likely server overload.

Did you remove the command line argument? I'm expecting a few users to forget to.

Yes I did. Sadly that was my first guess as well, after it didn't launch. But removing the line didn't change anything. Restarted Origin as well - to no avail.

Restarting the computer would be my next option.

If your game is crashing please, remove the command line argument in the Origin client

also the Origin servers are weird today, I was downloading Battlefield 3 but not anymore, it simply froze.

Just reboot your PC

True. But, since it's 4 AM here, I'll just opt for the bed and see what transpires over night, later ;)

Good luck to you guys!

My condolences :( So far it's running ok for me. Seems to be running smoother a bit compared to the previous patch, not the one before the hotfix, and with the mesh options working now. I wonder how long it will take them to provide the walk option on PC, and improve the keyboard and mouse, and the PC interface, but not like it matters much to me anymore now... got 170 hours on my first completionist playthrough, so there won't be much more to see anytime soon for me.

Patch installed.

The stuttering/hitching issue introduced in patch 2 continues.

Don't see it mentioned on the hotfix notes.

Can we reinstall the game (Origin copy) and refuse these patches?

I'd love to revert to how it was before patch 2, even if it means playing offline.

Thanks in advance.

Yes it can, Windows 8 uses less recources than Windows 7...

I have an old (5y) Toshiba Satellite L300 that came with Vista (installed XP after buying), when 7 released I upgraded ram to 2GB, and it was slow and laggy, had sound problems, etc... Now it runs on Windows 8, smooth enough to run ESO and TS3 on the go. (no it won't run SimCity or DA Inquisition on max though, and no, it is not my gaming rig either...)

The hotfix patch would verify the files for about 5 minutes then just fail for me. Restarted Origin and now it's working fine, albeit with crazy slow speeds.

origin keeps crapping out while trying to download the 17.04 mb 12/10/14 patch.

i know it's a lot to ask EA, but can you guys please put it on a server that isn't dialed into the internet with a 33.6 modem?  or you know, do anything right at all?

this is really starting to look like the cursed BF4 launch all over again...

Those that can't get the hotfix, be glad.  It screws things up even worse.

I had no issues at all with the original release.

The latest patch added shiny hair.

The latest hotfix added massive screen tearing.

Why is it that these "fixes" are making the game worse!?  Can you PLEASE let me go back to the working version?

Mine is at 100% updating and froze. I've tried it twice now and removed the line of code I added.

Sick of this, Bioware. Just sick of this.

every new released software has problems.

this is the exact kind of idiotic attitude that lets game publishers pull this crap.

it used to be that developers worked on a game until it was just about done, tested it, fixed any problems, and THEN published it when it was ready.  now, the release dates are set before anything else... and devs work on it, publish it before it's ready, let the users test things and find all the problems, and then MAYBE get around to "fixing" them while breaking other things with "patches".

developers relying on post-release patching instead of thorough pre-release quality assurance testing is the BIGGEST problem in the industry today...  and it makes all of their customers hate them.
