Am I correct that the main "pluses" of this patch are more frequent banter and searchable objects being easier to see? Would those who didn't have a lot of problems pre-patch say these upgrades are worth it?

I've been able to get the game to run pretty smoothly after a few initial adjustments with graphics drivers and settings - load times are a little long, but no crashes or obvious bugs aside from annoyingly loud background music in Skyhold. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the risk / time of running this and then possibly having to try to undo it if I end up with the problems that some people are reporting.

The banter bug is still being investigated.

Speaking of concerns and considering I am playing on a PC....

This thing just appeared on the menu screen, can someone please confirm that's not permanent? or whether there's a way to get rid.

Well that's obnoxious

Certainly is. It's not game breaking, it's just ugly and ruins what's a pretty decent menu screen.

Ew. At least they should put that on the multiplayer screen, not the main screen.

Forum is relatively quiet, I assume the patch is working for most?

I think people have gone to technical forum, instead of staying/coming here.

It's just a friendly reminder that you've played multiplayer, we wish you to continue to play multiplayer, and if you're interested maybe pick up one of our moderately priced chests. You know, for multiplayer.

I want to echo thoughts that the draw distance on foliage and terrain (the distance from the player at which the graphics card renders or "draws" objects, making them appear on screen) seems to have been reduced by the patch on PC, resulting in more obvious environment pop-in when walking around.  If this was done to improve performance, then it's a band-aid that didn't really fix anything and is just negatively affecting the experience for people with high-end gaming PCs that can handle those draw distances.  If it's true that the patch reduced draw distances, then I would like to ask that this be undone in the next patch.

I can say it's a pretty accurate observation since my i5 laptop that has 7670m is running the game without any problems on medium settings but the PC now I'm using which has R9 270x is stuttering/freezing, constant CTDs as well. They must have thought about low end systems.

Conal, any news about tactical combat, camera, and PC controls? Will any of those make it into Patch 3? And finally, any ETA on Patch 3?

Thanks in advance for any updates.

Except I haven't played multi-player and will never play multi-player and don't want anything to do with multi-player being forced into face.......

Reducing the draw distance shouldn't have anything to do with causing stuttering, freezing, and crashing, though.

Ok, so now I wait for patch 3 in the hopes that this mess becomes playable. Such a shame cause the setting, story, characters all seem wonderful but the combat is unplayable. Aside from the horrendous controls and views, I don't know if combat is just too fast but I never seem to know what is happening with my main characters or the enemy's. There is no time to use abilities and I am always losing the damn mouse cursor. I know it is not just me cause I loved the combat in Origins, heck I loved the combat in DA2 compared to this!

I truly hope that Patch 3 brings the things that we are screaming for here in terms of KB&M controls, even more so now that I found out I am not eligible for a refund :(

I am also constantly lost in combat to what's happening if I'm on the tac cam or zoomed out. This game was designed under a console experience. You'll see yourself a lot more aware of what's going on in combat if you just play on third person (camera behind controlled character). It's a horrible "fix," and I honestly wouldn't want to play it like this, but eh, EAware... "pc game by pc players." lol.

Simplest way to complain.

The PC experience is bad, really really bad.

This game doesn't worth 73 $ .....

How do you do this after the 24 hr period?

Haha, kinda. I haven't played multiplayer and my menu changed to something similar but instead said something along the lines of "Hey, try multiplayer, have a free chest!" Atte: EAware

So that's popping up on your screen without ever playing mp? I haven't played it myself and haven't seen that on my start up screen.

Not only that, but my pc is slowed down too.

I tried every possible fix in the book... and nothing works, my game still stutters. Badly.

Not only that, but my pc is slowed down too.

Seems like it's a problem outside the game (or both) if your PC is slowing down on your desktop...

Wait, do you mean your PC is slowed down even when you're not running the game?

For those having issues with Origin slowing down things in game...

In your My Games menu on Origin, right click on Inquisition and go to Game Properties. There will be a tick box and you can disable Origin from running while your game is playing. Then just access it through a shortcut or the app directly (Razer Cortex, even). You can even still log in to get Keep files and the like without Origin rearing its head onto your play time.

It's helped me speed things up a bit. Thought I'd share.

It's just a friendly reminder that you've played multiplayer, we wish you to continue to play multiplayer, and if you're interested maybe pick up one of our moderately priced chests. You know, for multiplayer.

"Welcome to the Dragon Age: Inquisition Wiki! Here's a popup for a game you might not have heard of, it's called Dragon Age: Inquisition!"
