If you get a response its either:

- The game director (slim chance and high chance of PR bullshit)

- A dev who knows what he's talking about being forced to say PR bullshit but knows damn well how to twist it so we know what he means

- Community manager

You will NEVER get the CEO to address minor issues like this. Its not SimCity or BF4, it runs fine there's just some issues in regards to scaling (UI and TacView) and controls. Thats it!

And uhm a social manager generally doesnt listen to marketing, they listen to PR. Totally different departments.

Except when PR reports to marketing. But you're trolling me.

As for the governance issue, there is a real issue concerning lingering brand equity issues (which, at this point, goes above the head of any brand manager and speaks to share valuation). There is only one person who can make a clear statement to arrest this issue. A funny ironic wink from a Dev mouthpiece will not address it; will do it more harm. Not everyone will even understand the Dev's irony. It is not a good model for clear communications. Obviously there are no communications professionals dealing with this matter, and nothing was learnt from the DA2 PR fiasco.

Yeah that is what I don't get...the UI and controls for DAI, on the PC, are objectively worse than both DAO and DA2.  How is that possible?  And how are the 'professional' reviewers not dinging the score? The PC version of DAI has an 87 on Metacritic.  DAO has a 91.  DA2...82.

This is what gets me the most.  Bioware hyped this as a PC game.  If your experience as a PC gamer was limited strictly to Bioware RPGs on a PC...after playing DAI through to Haven you would have a big list of things to fix.  How did BIOWARE not come up with, and address, their own list?

THIS IS THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM.

PR hardly reports to marketing, its usually the other way around. Then again its marketing, they generally do whatever the **** they want because theyre douchenuggets.

EA/BW is known for atrocious PR posts-launch. Look at the horrible situation at SWTOR and ME3. Im not denying that there is a big chance theyll **** this up BIG time, Im saying give them more than 3 days the chance to look for a proper response.

How it would generally go

1. A day of collecting complaints and dividing them into groups (art, bugs, feedback, major issues like in this case controls)

2. Community manager will talk directly to whoever is in charge of stuff and gets some info even if that info is "We're looking at it"

3. CM conveys thats on day 2 (which would be the 20th)

4-6 MEETINGS EVERYWHERE!

7. Weekend. They will have it so they will be understaffed. Think they should work through the weekend some more? Tough ****** luck. On top of that things need to be signed off by higher ups who dont give a **** about any of us. Theyre golfing or w/e thinking of all the money they made.

8. Monday! They better have a ****** response ready by now.

But ya know, Im trollin and all and have absolutely no idea who the role of community manager works.

What you describe is for the Crisis Manual.

Damage Control Implementation should be instantaneous: like match to petrol. Not days.

But that would be a model of professional communications. I do not mean to dig at you. But crisis communications really does work that way in the last 30+ years of PR. DA3 is supposed to be a big hit. There will be great financial ramifications to the BIoware Division if it is not. This would be the definition of crisis.

For the record, the ideal reporting structure is not often applied.

So glad I found this, I'm crying from joy.

For PC players what we would like is to right click the ground and have who we're controlling move, able to zoom in while in combat (I hate how it automatically zooms out), hold both right and left mouse buttons to move, AUTO ATTACK for sure, clicking on our heroes makes us switch to them instead of only on their portraits.

Please Mark or someone from Bioware read this..!

Can't agree more.  Just those few improvements would make the world of difference.

1) I cannot click the ground/items and my character automatically go pick it up
2) Camera does not zoom out enough to be useful in tactical mode
3) Cannot find an option for unlocking camera to selected units when issuing commands (I know it should be there because I watched the KB&M game-play from the devs)
4) Cannot keybind to side mouse buttons.
5) Cannot drag mouse and select characters.

6) No auto-attack, unless in tactical view. (Changing the rules when in 3rd person and tactical, no longer feels like one system, but 2 awkwardly smooshed together.

7) No option to bind camera to mouse movement (w/o holding a button down).

This is a good list of problems that needs to be fixed. A game with "open world" and this much combat needs to have if not perfect at least good mechanical controls. When combat and movement gets frustrating when they are about 80 percent of your game, you have a problem. I would like to see all of these problems listed fixed, but in my honest opinion I think auto attacking is priority one, at least as an option. To hold down left mouse button to attack is (in my opinion) terrible and should be optional.

Personally I can't use the tactical cam or control my team in a effective way when I'm in combat and that makes me really sad cause the tactical combat from Dragon age origins was superb (if somewhat clunky). Either you go full blown action Rpg (please don't) or you go back to tactical combat. This thing in between is just broken and not fun in my opinion.

I understand that this is Bioware's first attempt at open world (if you do not count Swtor) and that it's the first RPG that uses Frostbite engine. I get that that is new territory and that made the development a lot harder.

it's extremely good that it seems you guy's are hearing our feedback! To have a dialogue is very important.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to hammer on your baby here, I'm just trying to help out!  ^_^ Cheers from Sweden

It's really sad, but it seems the time, when i could pick up any new Bioware Game at the store without even giving it a second thought is, indeed, over.

Every single Bioware Game up to Mass Effect 3 (not including ME3 itself, but including DA2) was like that and totally worth every penny (to me). I played through every game lots of times just to find out how different characters in the game might react differently if i handled different situations another way.

But ME3 changed that. The charakters were suddenly shallow and the end turned out... well... you all know. Not at all a worthy Bioware Game.

I hoped they would get it back then and maybe go back to how they used to make games before that, but i guess i hoped wrong. Making buckets of money with shallow games with bombast graphics, bloated gameplay, without a real story and boring charakters seems to be the new formula used everywhere nowadays.

My last remaining hope ist The Witcher 3 now. Well... i guess it couldn't last forever. I'm sure as hell not buying this game even though it will be the first Bioware game ever that i don't have. Makes me sad.

The game has defeated me. Combination of horrendous clunky controls and realizing that my character has been gender swapped by a bug several hours in and the only solution is to restart the whole game, I have lost the will to play it anymore.

I still can't understand you released such a buggy, unstable version of your game..would love to know the reasoning behind it?

Pre-ordered this game as I really was confident that you guys can pull off something good, but after spending 2 hours with support and not even being able to start up the game, I asked for a refund.

So best of luck to you, hope you get this game patched up quickly, but I won't be buying any bioware games anymore.

What about the game breaking bugs? Like the one with Alexius? The solutions are a "hit and miss" for most people. I don't really want to indulge in suspect practises to make the game run, because I didn't have any bug before.

I've got 638 posts and the game is working fine for me on PC (though I had to disable MSAA and AO - but game stills looks gorgeous).

Not saying that newbies can't be legit.

But seriously how can so many newbies show up with "full-on BSN snark" and so versed on all the issues?

I keep getting visions of 4chans brothers.  Must be me.  :P

The main issue is that the tactical option is forcing me to play a Top Down combat game instead of a POV of my choosing. When coming out of tactical the pov does not return to where it was  and it throws me out of the game/combat. In and out of combat I should have the freedom to choose the pov, in my case it is over the shoulder with whichever character I am controlling at that moment. right now in tactical mode or combat mode I cant seem to do that.

Maybe the devs could add a box in options to click for pov always with controlled character? and always over the shoulder?

That may help.

As for now, I have changed the space button to pause and jump to another key and am not using the Tactical Option - it seems to work ok.

the other issues: selected options are not staying and revert to default forcing me to change the options back each time I start the game.

Other issues: mainly the skyrim pullovers I can ignore or grudgingly accept.

Thank you.

Well, I would say that you people should at least be glad that you can run the game, but there is no point in that since it's not playable eather way >< ... i have a freaking duo core and i can't even blame them for a mistake that i have made. I mean i don't think that duo core is that much of a problem. I don't have the best PC in the world but i should at least be able to play it on low, AT LEAST. Instead it passes the BIOWEAR logo screan and loading screen and then it freezes ><. I dont get it, if duo core is so much of a problem, us duo core users shouldn't be able to even launch a game :S. Well now i bought a cd-key over some site cause i really have not that much money to spend on a game that I really want to play and i cant even refund it since it's not bought over origin. I'm not mad or anything, It's just that i loved all of the DA games and i didn't even had any problems with DA:II unlike some, I adored it in every way posible and now i can't even experience the storyline of the new game for myself but i have to watch it over youtube or something. But what the heck, show must go on, right?

I'm really quite shocked at the launch for this game on PC, i worked on a few games in the 80's and early 90's for the C64 & Amiga systems mainly and in those days we had no interenet so had to get our games working right out of the box as there was no way to update or patch them as they were all physical products on cassette,disk/disc and cartridge so they had to be working correctly.

Now i'm not the biggest fan in the world of how games are released now so it doesn't matter if it's a big company like Activision or EA or even the smallest Indie the facts are games are created differently and a lot of them are in a shocking state come release time, sure there are bigger budgets now and with that comes more demand and greater pressure but that's really no excuse.

This release i was so looking forward to for months and like many after spending my hard earned cash am unable to run the game, yes major let down i know but these things happen and more than willing to give EA and Bioware a chance. I'm suffering from the black screen issue like many and had some friends as well with this very issue and hearing the forums with the same and many more issue's especially the control issue's which with the latter really does confuse the life out of me and found them to be totally bizarre from a comany that really should know better than create something that is so crazy and shoddy. Controls really need to be at the front end of what makes a great game but it does sound that they got the whole system wrong in this regard and seems to be more focused around console or gamepad use sorry but this whole idea is painfully inept and wrong.

I'd love to comment on what the game actually looks or plays like but that's an impossible dream for me currently and this should have been picked up by QA long before the game was released, if i'd released a game like this and in this state i would be making heads roll and those responsible would most likely not have a job any longer.

Just to sum up and trying all reported solutions, ran the game around 30 times and each time it crashes but not at the same place which is even more bizarre so it's crashed at around 25 different places and at this point i just want to throw my physical copy away and burn it like it should be and really don't know whether to laugh or just cry like a little baby. Yes this release it totally insane and does make me never want to buy another EA game ever again, something is majorly wrong with this whole release and process. Developers you really do need to get back to producing games like they used to be without having to constantly having to patch and make major fixes, you are treating PC gamers very badly and as a consumer i feel totally insulting by the product that is on show from day one but at least my time in the industry i know i never produced anything like this and all games worked, sorry rant over but it had to be said from a very disappointed consumer and gamer.

I posted on this last night.  If you actually go back and look at the single posters, the vast majority of their posts are citing the utter garbage pc controls and how they refuse to keep playing until they are patched.  I'd say the 'snark' is more than justified.

I hope I dont get any problems during setup or during in game  (game doesnt released here yet)

Also this is why PC Community(we) hate consoles, because companies know console version of games will be

sell quickly, and because of them we getting unstable games. I'm in love with BioWare games BUT I really hoping

DAI runs on my system when it comes- which probably patches will come until I get the game...

Consoles destroying PC markets, and I dont wanna say to my kids in future "yes son, there was good games before on PC"

Call me fanboy if you want, but this is the truth in my opinion: most companies started to pay less attention to PCs

These "concerns" (way to euphemize btw) should have been adressed during game development. It's unthinkable that in years of development no one has ever even bothered trying to play it on the pc for more than 20 minutes. But besides not giving **** it's the only explanation for this.
