I hope "driver support" is (also) referring to the continous crashing of the game in cutscenes and at the war table; quite some people seem to be having this problem...

Hmmmm my vid card is also Nvidia....wonder if they need to look at that,  mine is a GeForce GTX 650 ti   supports Direct 11 not 10..although you would think 10 would be included backwards?

Shouldn't this be something that should just work right from the get-go? Seems rather silly.

With the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, we've been hearing a number of concerns from members of our PC community, including:

  • Driver support
  • Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes
  • Feedback on keyboard and mouse controls
  • General user interface optimizations for PC

We've been following these issues closely and are looking into them.

Player experience is a top priority for us. Our goal is to address as many of these as possible in our upcoming patches, including some in our next patch, which is underway. We’ll release further details in the coming days and will continue to monitor your concerns.

Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate your contribution to making Dragon Age: Inquisition a better overall experience.

YOu can add some debug stuff to the console while you are at it, like we had in DA:O  :D

Game crashes after character creation. After the loading screen of the opening cinematic, the game instantly crashes to desktop without an error message the moment the prison scene starts.

No error in Msinfo.

Running an Intel 2700k 3.6 GHZ (I rolled back the overclocking thinking it may have been the cause, but it wasn't) and crossfired AMD 6870s (also disabled crossfire and rolledback from the beta driver thinking that may be the cause, but it wasn't).

To rephrase on my last post, on the MP portion on PC I get a HUGE delay for 3 minutes in the beginning. Once the delay is over and I can start moving, I never catch back up to the point the groups at.

please fix tactical mode, make it more zoomed out and controls more clearly laid out in regards to camera in tactical mode. right now feels like something made for controller.

Agreed, tactical camera is down right terrible. I would not be using it at all if they haven't removed auto run and auto attack outside of tactical cam.

I had crashing at character creation as well as other random spots.  After messing with graphics settings, I set everything to medium and restarted the game.  No more crashing... until I changed certain graphic settings and it would crash the game, mostly during cut scenes.  I couldn't even get back in to the game until I restarted.

I've been trying to narrow down which settings cause the crash, but it's difficult to pin down.

Hope they can find a solution soon. So frustrating when you wait so long to play the game and something like that happens :(

I hope they prioritize the DirectX crashes during cutscenes.  Other than the terrible controls, its a beautiful game.  I'd love to be able to appreciate it without a sense of dread everytime I go into a cutscene.

Hope they fix 'General user interface optimizations for PC' first because this is the biggest reason why so many PC gamers are refunding or putting off buying Dragon Age Inquisition.

I don't know how Inquisition got past closed or open beta with a DX error with a bad command or communication issue that crashes the game during cutscenes and the war table? Or how the game reviewers online and for magazines never saw this crash either? Especially since the entire game revolves around the multitude of cutscenes and dialog choices players make constantly in this game. Just extremely strange. I hope that you really are working on a patch ASAP for this DX Error crash....but I also think that when you buy a game from Origin / Bioware that you should also get a free pot of decaf coffee with your purchase. Or maybe just some good tranquilizers before release day. lol

Now I am worried because these are the SMALLEST problems I am having that you listed:

  • Driver support
  • Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes
  • Feedback on keyboard and mouse controls
  • General user interface optimizations for PC

I would rather you fix the constant crashing every 20 seconds, and the hitching and frame rate issues everywhere outside of the cut-scenes first.

OK some hard info on my Crash Crash Crash!! I've started the game four times and it freezes before I get out of the intro and options area, This is my system information:

Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 2.67 GHZ

6 gig of ram

64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium Sp1

Radeon hd6670 2.5 gig

DDR3 - Core running at 800Mhz

Latest drivers installed.

DX11

This system runs ESO without issues and can handle almost anything you can through at it. A little outdated but there Is no excuse for this game to be crashing on my system.

I hope this hard info can help someone come up with a fix soon. I think the more info they get the better.

I really hope that the patch will include the fix for all those people who can't run the game at all.  Infamous black screen issue ( http://answers.ea.co...3983595/page/40). I am looking forward to play it so much, hopefully it will be possible soon. Good luck on the patch, BioWare!

I guess their bigger issue would be the General user interface optimizations for PC looking at the complains about getting refunds and not buying feed back until it is fixed by lots of PC gamers.

This is a really big deal for me (and apparently, many others also) so I'm glad to see that staff are taking it under serious consideration. I still worry that most things won't be feasible to fix due to how patching works but I sure hope that at least walk toggle and better PC stability is a quick possibility.

Mark, could you very briefly (but not too briefly) go through a line-by-line basic PC control scheme explanation of combat on your previous engines vs. combat on the DAI engine, and explain why some setups/buttons/control philosophies did or did not (or could not) carry over to the new engine in Inquisition.

Specifically, we are looking for mouse based steering input method, the click to move idea, the rmb+lmb character steering, the group targeting method including box drawing, and anything involving the tactical design of managing 4 characters within the combat system.

Thanks.

One more problem is the sex bug: a male PC is referred to as "she" or "her" (I haven't tried a female PC), and two voice lines can be heard during cutscenes (probably the lines addressing both the male and female PC). Besides being disturbing, this bug makes it difficult understanding the what is being said.

Haven't had this issue, I'm not worried about it.

I have a laptop and I'm not getting any crashes.

Almost makes you think their testers were console players only...if so,  not good Bioware,  the PC has not yet gone the way of the dodo, and I am definitely not planning on buying a console any time soon,  my PC is MUCH more useful to me.

There really is no 'almost' about it, friend.

The way I have heard the combat system described, there is just no way a Dragon Age game should be shackled with a scheme that looks like it's for a 16 bit game made 10 years ago.

Something definitely went wrong very early on in the production that led to this.  Engine restraints, console proprietary demands, financial deterrent, who knows...
