To be honest, MP is kinda better than SP is. Even has better interface for showing health and mana.

Just, smaller (number of enemies, areas, items [yes, not that many, but with ridiculous RNG]).

SP looks like a MMO that no one plays anymore :D Still, it is just decent enough to want to actually beat it to the end, MP might get more content eventually and for that many hours of (certainly not GOTY) fun, it is well worth the price. Still, it is our right to demand patches IMO.

As for the best game, I'd vote for Civilization Beyond Earth, Shadowrun Returns or Shadows of Mordor.

Did't Shadowrun Returns come out in 2013, though?

And yeah, totally with you on the MMO thing - Dragon Age is the kind of game I play more for the story, so I can't help but think I would've enjoyed it a lot more if it was more linear-ish, like its predecessors. Hell, in my opinion the side quests and character interactions only got worse because of the choice to make it all open-world and "seamless" and crap. That said I do still enjoy it.

Also, you sure you meant to quote me? :P

I waited 1-1/2 hrs for tech support. Theyre aware of the PC controller issue. They said to wait for a patch.

I sure hope it's fixed ASAP. It was fine before the patch. Loved the game but just couldn't bare with the KB+M controls.

playing Shadowrun Returns atm, having fun with decker/rigger - now that's TACTICAL. cool atmosphere (i love tech&magick mix, Arcanum fan and all that, Shadowrun setting is awesome), nice intro (the 'why am i even on the journey' part), but totally screwed up midgame by 'magical plot'. i was hoping for more cyberpunk, instead - spirits. gah! but you know, that's preference-thing

not the best game i've played (unpolished, mostly combat&story focused, not much to loot/craft, brutally linear), definitely not GotY, levels below D:OS, but still fun and fresh

THIS is how one should play (and be officially able to do so) any Dragon Age game:

Period.

Obviously too hard for bioware to implement

found this in tech thought i might post it here the link anyway

Well... ****.

Lucky for me I have AMD GPU (even if on the lower end) so the game is playable for me. A recall of all copies? Won't happen. It isn't physically dangerous to own the game.

The best case scenario will be that modders will find a way to alter the game and fix the bugs. Most likely? A few patches that won't address the controls and leave the game half broken. Hope that Bioware will learn the lessons from this game and apply to the next Mass Effect game. (And for god's sakes don't preorder it)

Thank you for posting this. Now I have given all my hopes up for a patch that fixes stuttering, until Christmas but it would be good to see a patch until St. Patrick's Day.

I didn't realize this existed. With this coming to light it really causes one to wonder why Bioware didn't implement this off the bat. This dude spent 6 hours debugging in Assembly to get it to work like this. I'm sure somewhere in the development cycle this dudes pain (6 hours of debugging assembly sounds awful) could have been averted. Looks a million times better.

And THIS is why it is so infuriating that BIOWARE themselves can't improve on the situation....(and give us a Walk toggle in the game as well), for God's sake!

They have access to experienced FB3 programmers, the people at DICE, and STILL they can't fix this? I'm not buying it. Something really weird is going on here...

I do not want to install a piece of software that invites a ton of adware and all kinds of rubbish to be installed on my PC, just to be able to use a core function of the game.

I have found a very good explanation on the thread that @dewayne31 shared. Credits to the post owner middlefngrsaluteIt's good that the problems have been identified by the devs but all in all, I'm not sure the problems will be solved in short term.

That certainly explains a lot ... and begs a whole lot more questions.

At least we know they have some idea what they need to fix now in regard to the instability problems.

But ... WHY?

With all the resources available to them this should not have happened.

Once it did happen it shouldn't have taken so long to identify the problem.

Once identified, people here on their thread for PC "issues", should have been informed ... by them.

some one should start a poll on when patch 3 will drop

wonder if bioware even cares abouts their pc customer, because it seem as if they don't; also this is the worst community concerns forum board i have ever seen. does bioware really think that their sh*t don't smell

Waiting for Patch 3, yeah  ... that almost sounds like the game has received serious post-release support. But let's see:

Patch 1: That was the day-1 patch that we apparently downloaded without knowing. I for one still have no idea what it contains. No patch notes released as far as I can tell, so it really doesn't count as post-release support.

Patch 2: An attempt to fix bugs but ended up introducing a series of new appalling graphical bugs that should have been flagged and fixed by any half-competent QA. A few welcome fixes such as the ability to disable the tactical camera mode on zoom out with the mouse wheel (more like a bugfix I'd say). Aside from that the only real gameplay improvement was the blip markers on the minimap. But hey! We got shiny glossy hair and withered and wrinkled skin with a sudden removal of scars! What's not to like?

Patch 2 Hotfix: An attempt to fix the effects of Patch 2. Worked for some, but ended up creating a host of performance issues for many players.

Well, it's been ONE MONTH and this is what BioWare has managed to come up with.

We are not impressed.

Also, is anyone getting this issue when paused in combat and you click on a character to switch to them, and it resumes the game? This is so annoying. STAY PAUSED. I wasn't ready yet!

Yes, this happens to me too.

Not only can I not use tac cam because its' so rubbish, I can't even confidently pause the game to issue orders because this does not even work! Wow, Bioware!

Me too. I am really trying to contain my fury in waiting for patch 3. If it's not satisfactory, that's it. I'm totally done with Bioware games.

NVidia just issued a new beta driver 347.09.

Even though they are not talking about DAI in the notes, my game performance has improved. Touching wood.

Aye... I was so eager to get it, even a hint of it, in patch 2. Hell I'm even the first poster on the patch 2 thread! lol

So eager I patched up before reading the patch notes, only to screw up my graphics!!! With still no walk toggle!

Don't think I can take such a disappointment again, it's a walk toggle and they'll have over a month to patch it in by the time patch 3 hits.

I'm one of those guys who swears blind that my car drives better after it's been cleaned, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt, but I also feel like it is performing better with the new beta drivers.

I'm sure we're all trying, it's just slightly difficult what with your company:

  • Releasing a rushed game with content not in which was said to be included
  • Lying regarding the intentions of the game for PC players
  • Releasing a patch which has caused more issues than was originally identified
  • Having no details for a hotfix besides 'we're looking into it'
  • Refusing to communicate with the players

But hey! at least we have you in here, maybe a few more mods could come in with more insipid comments and I'm sure that'd help everyone!

Please don't shoot the messenger but I took the time to actually read the EULA for Origin and DA:I (as opposed to just skimming it for the privacy disclaimers) and it really cleared up some questions for me. Specifically noteworthy is Section 8 in which EA says we use their software at our own risk and they have no obligation provide a game that runs. I'm paraphrasing, obviously, but I thought it was interesting and provided some insight into the disconnect between some purchasers and EA.

Truly, if you haven't done so, read the EULA. It might make you even more furious than you already are but you'll gain additional knowledge.

I hope Bioware won't forget us because of this... I know that it might be a common rule for Eula ut it still worry me.
