To be honest, MP is kinda better than SP is. Even has better interface for showing health and mana.
Just, smaller (number of enemies, areas, items [yes, not that many, but with ridiculous RNG]).
SP looks like a MMO that no one plays anymore
Still, it is just decent enough to want to actually beat it to the end, MP might get more content eventually and for that many hours of (certainly not GOTY) fun, it is well worth the price. Still, it is our right to demand patches IMO.
As for the best game, I'd vote for Civilization Beyond Earth, Shadowrun Returns or Shadows of Mordor.
Did't Shadowrun Returns come out in 2013, though?
And yeah, totally with you on the MMO thing - Dragon Age is the kind of game I play more for the story, so I can't help but think I would've enjoyed it a lot more if it was more linear-ish, like its predecessors. Hell, in my opinion the side quests and character interactions only got worse because of the choice to make it all open-world and "seamless" and crap. That said I do still enjoy it.
