Now that I've obtained your permission to leave, I'll be on my way.

I play with a KB/M setup and I don't have any issue with this games controls. It plays very similar if not identical to previous entries. So, there goes your argument. Boom goes the dynamite. I advise you use less "we" and more "I" as you don't have any right to speak for all PC gamers. Oh, and I suppose I missed the memo where I was to be informed that the forums are only for people who nitpick and complain to Bioware. What on earth was I thinking? Oh, and the fact that your rebuttal is laced with insults and angry rhetoric does you little credit. Surely it can't be too difficult to conduct yourself and get your point across in a civilized manner.

Just... NO!!!!

you didn't play DAO or DA2 patched, don't you?

kb+m is worse than ever : no strafing in melee, no move+autoattack, no free move with mouse in tactical view, and so on...

Sure we can adapt, but crap is crap...

JPR out!

You know, maybe we should cut back on insulting each other and on the blanket statements (please don't try to speak for everyone,) and try to apply our frustrations constructively?  Bickering with each other is what can drag threads like this down, and to a lock.   :(

Perhaps people with no problem and that can enjoy the game as it is should go back to their PC and play it?

Being mean or uniformative in this topic with people having game problem don't bring anything usefull apart bickering...

JPR out!

Jeron never said he didn't have any issues.  I've been reading his posts for the last few days (we've been in the same threads regarding bugs and PC issues,) and he's been quite vocal about the problems as well.  He was poking fun at some of the conspiracy theories floating around here.

I don't give a crap who started it, so please let's just drop it.

Perhaps you should go look at my post, I merely asked for someone to elaborate more on their insider knowledge regarding gameplay mechanic decision making in Bioware. The only people who are constantly bickering and hurling childish insults are those who complain about the game, and proceed to attack anyone who calls them out for their baseless slandering comments towards Bioware developers. You can't make the statement "this game was designed first and foremost for consoles" and not expect to get called out for it. Some of the PC players in this thread act as if they speak for all PC gamers. And when they use incendiary, baseless language such as that, PC gamers who wholeheartedly disagree will naturally express their lack of endorsement for such statements.

But I agree with Natashina, drop it. My point has been made.

No, not all of the PC players in this thread act like they are speaking for all PC gamers.  I'm only speaking for myself and I've never claimed otherwise at any point.  Some are indeed trying to claim that "all PC users feel this specific way about problem Y."  However, some are just posting from their own POV and not trying to speak for any group.

So please don't do that.   :(

I didn't mean all PC players in here, but the majority. I didn't pay attention to that as I was writing the post though, so for clarity sake that wasn't directed at everyone in here. I've adjusted the post accordingly.

Oh the conspiracy theories in this thread are very elaborate. Please, do tell us more of your first hand experience at Bioware in which they made the decision to develop this game "first and foremost for consoles". Were there objections from the remnants of the PC loyalists within Bioware's staff? Or did they all fall to the dark side and conspire equally to ruin the game for the PC gamers?

Then explain why walking is possible on consoles via the analog controls, yet there's no applicable alternative for keyboard and mouse.

I can walk using an Xbox Controller with my PC.

ETA: I didn't mean to be obtuse. My point is that there seems to have been an assumption on the part of the development team that many PC players would elect to use a controller. If they had suggested the controller to me in recommended equipment I'd have bought one sooner.

Are you blind or just decided to look the other way!

I didn't realize there were any PC Loyalists left at Bioware. Made For PC Gamers by PC Gamers!! We know that's a lie, so what platform did they make it for?

8 ability slots for over 20/25 abilities! Funny that console has that many. Press the "A" button. DA:I looks like Skype after Microsoft got their hand on it.

Umm..they already did.  In the last patch.

Same here.  I had it installed at 12:01 am Nov. 18th.  Have not played a second of it.

Have no desire to until at minimum the next (first real) patch.

Using CE with the tactical camera mod and walking mod the game is now entirely playable in my opinion.

Both hold to walk AND a walk toggle in the walking mod!

Give it a shot :)

I doubt we'll get the patch until next year sometime. Thanks to the modders many of us now can have a happy Dragon Age xmas!

TobyJake, I didn't follow the marketing pre-launch. I've since watched the "Made for PC Gamers" video several times. I think it's a disingenuous piece of marketing but I do not hear or see any outright lies in that video. Was there another event or a set of posts from the devs that contributed to your feeling deceived? I see that a lot of PC players feel deceived but how did that come about? That one video can't be the only catalyst. Perhaps more background would help me and others like me understand more.

Walking mod now has jogging too, so you can now walk/jog/run on KB+M!!!

http://forum.cheaten...5568456#5568456

Got a feeling the coming patch 3's walking function may end up being inferior to the mod now, if they are even successful in implementing a walk function at all.

We now have walk jog and run... on a keyboard... using a mod in an unmoddable game... this is priceless lol

Same here.  :(

My engineer husband (who is too busy working to play games, poor love) until recently assumed that most PC gamer have controllers in their arsenals as a matter of course because he figured more equipment = more options. He was surprised to hear that a controller can be a bone of contention but that is what the BSN has taught me.

PC gamers who have controllers doesn't mean they prefer them, I have friends who use controllers for fighting/driving games (or a steering wheel/joystick) but switch to KB+M for strategy/FPS/RPG/pretty much everything else. Alot of PC users who do use controllers here on this forum have also complained about the inability to use both KB+M and gamepad at the same time - another console port feature.

That mirrors my gaming experiences.  It's why I play on console for some games.  I just find it more comfortable with a controller/couch set up for heavy action games.   For RTS/FPS/RPG, I prefer a KB/M.

@hwlrmnky;

I think most of us feel "deceived" because we already had an (almost) intuitive kb+m interface in the first two DA games.  Sure, it took a little training to understand at the very beginning, but after that one stopped thinking about how to control  the game, and one could "just play it!"  I didn't have to think about how do do what I wanted.  And I certainly didn't have my gameplay flow interrupted every few seconds to bend down and pick the flowers just to acquire the stuff on the ground.

I'm over 120 hours into my first playthrough (yeah, I'm a Completionist.  What about it?) and I still fight the controls all the time.  I mean in Every Single Encounter I find myself going "No!  Wait!  How did I trigger that?  And why can't I ever make that happen when I actually want it?!?"  And then there's the trying to remember to rotate OFF of the controlled character just so s/he'll use those (limited to eight) talents and abilities instead of standing still.

Not to mention that the brain-damaged AI and inability to set behaviours means that I have to micro-manage Every Single Action by my party Every Single Time.  The only thing they seem capable of doing on their own is Following me when I told them to "Hold Position".  And my right hand is getting a cramp from having to hold the right mouse button down all the time just to see where I'm going as I move...

None of that should be.  And it wasn't!

I could play DAO/DA2 almost one-handed, (leaving the other free to handle the beverage of my choice.   )

That's  why when we heard that the PC version was "designed for PC players" we had such high expectations.

And that's  why we feel such disappointment.

I think all of us (who are complaining) would be satisfied if DAI simply "worked like DAO".  How hard could it be to implement "right-click equals interact with target"?  or "Move to location"?  And why does clicking on a Party Member portrait during combat not switch to that character?  If they fixed just those things and added a real "AI Tactics Action List" (even a short one) I could live it.  I'd still grumble about the eight-slot limit on the quickbar, but since that seems to be one of the basic design "features", I'd get over it. B)

Even Angry Joe give the game a 9 on console and an 8 on PC and its funny he kept saying he made a "mistake" with DA2 giving it a high score, WELL it seems he maid that "mistake" again, im pretty sure right now he is a fanboy or has some contract with EA.

Yes, very disappointed in him. He did, though, trash the MP component.

I would much prefer to be able to use both at the same time!
