There's still way too many multiplayer bugs. Everyone I know has deleted that free "DLC" to avoid the bugs, and also the dinosaur animal stuff was just a straight up lame addition. It didn't really add anything other than a kind of lameness to the already slightly boring levels. Why the hell didn't you add darkspawn instead? Major decision failure on that one. Those burning paths were cool but that's the only thing worth mentioning and getting rid of them to avoid the bugs isn't a big loss.
This is really ridiculous bioware. You guys don't even have a separate PC forum. How lazy can you get. 95% of the pc complaints haven't even been addressed for both the multiplayer AND the single player. That damn rampage bug on the reaver STILL isn't fixed. My god.
...and the game goes on sale already for 40% off. Lmao wow. Just wow. I'm honestly a bit shocked at the level of disregard and incompetence. If you haven't seen me say it before, I'll say it again, this is the LAST bioware game I ever purchase.

I'm trying to force myself to finish it with a controller -I won't go into the myriad of reasons why it's so hard for me to like it, because I doubt these things will ever be fixed unless modders do it and I'm kind of over the whole saga and just want to see how it ends- but there is one thing that I hope someone here can help me with.
My guy looks like he is made of lacquered plastic in quest and it is sending me crazy. Seriously, short of an in game clearasil wash I have no idea what settings to tweak.
I'm starting to wonder if it is just like the showroom sheen armour etc and never going to go away.
I've got a GTX760 and have most things set to high, with mesh, tessellation and textures on ultra... I set them to ultra from high trying to fix this in the first place, but obviously that didn't work. Any suggestions from more knowledgeable folk?
Thanks in advance. ![]()

If I understand correctly, your Mesh setting should be no higher than your lowest setting, so if your lowest is at High, then Mesh needs to be High too, otherwise you get these kinds of issues with textures looking all shiny.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply Dubya75!
Like I said though, I'm pretty sure I changed them up to ultra to try to combat the issue in the first place. But, because memory is fallible, I went in and set it all to High and...Nope. My dude still looks like a lacquered gingerbread man instead of the charmingly tanned chap he is in cutscenes and everyone's armour is painfully shiny.
Is it just a thing perhaps?

I'd wish this game would be moddable as Skyrim. There would be no problem with it in that case, because modders would fix every problem of the game in several months. And as far as I can see, they already did more than Bioware... We can only hope that they are monitoring this fixes/mods and will implement them in future patch.
There won't be any mods for an EA game anytime soon. EA thinks they can't sell (or at least sell a lot less) DLCs when they enable mods - and they are probably right about that.

It is my hope that after this, BioWare and hopefully game developers in general embrace the fact that attempting to port controls from one platform to the other is just a bad idea. It's like making tomato/apple juice. Yes, they're both fruits and juicy and delicious in their own right, but one should seriously dissuade themselves from trying to combine them. An acquired taste combination it might be, but really... Why? Just to say you did something new and innovative? Okay, but it sucked. Embrace the suck. Own it and then never do it again.

After this? Porting controls was a bad idea 10 years ago.
Bioware knew this and did it anyway. Some new hot-shot console designer persuaded them 2 years ago that not doing a full pc version would save 10% on the budget, and they freaking went for it.

I'm mostly happy with Dragon Age Inquisition now, thanks to mods. The controls feel alot less like a console port with the ability to control your speed on KB+M like in every other PC game. Mouse buttons can still be unresponsive at times, still no binding or toggle mouselook. For them to implement a working click-to-move / loot they have to fix up all the pathing bugs that the "tactical mode" already has as well.
For now, it's an acceptable console port in my opinion. You tried the game yet Brogan?

In DAO they looked like a terrifying chimera of lizard and tube worm. In DAI they DO look like teeny apatosaurus. Shame. Less scary that way, I think.

The deep mushrooms in DAI are scary. They are based off a parasitic fungi in real life that feeds off living hosts (where in DAI its feeding off the spiders)

Lol I only just noticed recently too, look at the deep mushrooms closely, they are protruding out of the spider's corpse. Great way to ugly up your Skyhold garden too!

Also the game "Last of us" I think is based from this same horrific fungi. I haven't played it myself as it's only on consoles, but it's one of those things in nature that freaks me out.
Wait, Red Lyrium does the same thing... though somehow it's the way the deep mushrooms work that freaks me out, probably because it exists in freaking real life lol

At least not until the next patch. Not that I have any faith Bio will actually accomplish anything via patching. They are 0-1 so far. But the pre-patch blog entry promising controls in the next one has me curious enough to hold off till I see it.
Then again, if the modders are able to manage mouse button mapping, I might give it a shot.
Currently being blown away by the graphics of Ryse, LoF, and Far Cry4. Also some IWD:EE thrown in keeping me busy.

Well if you have a gaming mouse that comes with a software to configure it, you may be able to manage mouse button mapping as alot of PC players have done.
I'm a big conservationist and fan of the wonders of the natural world but...ick! Do not want zombie fungus. Makes my mammalian sense of self-preservation kick and scream. I did learn from that Wikipedia article that Mike Carey has a novel out that I missed...that's good to know.
Yeah, it's sh-t like this:
"When the fungus is ready to reproduce, its fruiting bodies grow from the ant's head and rupture, releasing the spores. This process takes four to ten days.[8]" What... the... FK nature?!
Heh, guess you'll never look at deep mushrooms the same way again, sorry
lol
