Everything is realtive and nothing (or everything?) could be real.

Solipsism is an idea that only you exist. So ALL the toothpicks are in fact, yours.

And trees.

And EAs and Biowares.

As far as I know, they might be the same things. Or none at all.

I don't HATE the game. I just claim it is painfully average. Good value for the time spent. Not all of it was pure fun, surely not (damn you Hissing wastes!) but it was ok. If they add more content to multiplayer, I might come back to it even. Coop games tend to draw me in, it's decent, minus the fact that keys stopped dropping after the patch. So untill next one comes, I'm not touching it anymore though.

I would like to see some other choices, even created an elf female warrior (first time it was human male mage), but that's probably a year too soon for next SP playthrough. But it would be cool way to spend some time If I were to loose my job and be sent to prison I guess. Here's hoping I'd get to keep my PC there :P

Everyone has a right to their opinion.  I remember reading Bioware boards back in they day a week after Dragon Age Origins launched.  Reading those boards made one think DAO was one of the worst games ever.   :D

I hate the game and I and please don't take me wrong... I REALLY hate the game, all my mosts are usually about it but...

You hate the game, yet you've played over 300 hours across 2 different systems. Yeah, I'd say that is a triumph for Bioware where even the haters play it.

Depends on ones hardware really.  A basic keyboard and 2 button mouse is garbage for gaming these days but people still use it.  IF I was relegated to these basic input devices I would no doubt own a controller.  That said, I luckily have a Razer Tartarus on my left side.  A G15 keyboard in the middle and a 18 button Logitech mouse to my right.  All of these are macroable and customizes to any key I want which allows me far greater options and beats a controller anyday.

You have a Tartarus! Will you please tell me whether you like the thumb pad on it?

Thumb pad is fine, it's stiff enough to feel like you know which direction you are moving.  I used to have the Orbweaver, the thumb pad on that one is wayyy to sensitive so I hardly ever used it.  Tartarus feel is far better.

As much hate as there is about Controllers, there's something to be said about having two joysticks as opposed to wsad. Now that's just my personal opinion as I'm sure some people prefer wsad (and sometimes even qe) to the controller. Which is cool because that's their preference. Just like some people feel the sheer amount of extra buttons you get on a keyboard and the fluidity and precision only a mouse can offer more than makes up for the shortcomings of a controller.

Then there are people that just think one is simply better than the other. But again, that's entirely up to the worth of the pros and cons in each device to the beholder. This whole discussion is subjective and people should stop claiming that one is more inferior than the other. Oh and unless it's a troll... it's an extremely negative way of thinking to even imply that something is inferior, rather than promoting what you prefer as superior.

So those that can play the game should play it, or they can wait it out like most people are that can't even play it without crashing.

@Catatonic Man, nice analogy. I feel sorry for all the m/kb users out there as I've tried to play it with a m/kb too. But how I see your analogy is like this, you are the one crawling, and that the real people with broken feet are the people that can't play this game at all.

Sorry just thought of this when I said that....

Uhh.. Maybe this is part of the problem. I've replayed Origins many times, DA2 quite a few as well. Did a playthrough of both this fall to lead up to Inquisition release.

And at no time have I used a controller. I've also never touched wasd once.

Your logic, much like Bioware's design plan for DAI, is faulty.

Is there a reason the KB&M controls for the PC are so different for this game than the other 2 Dragon Age games? This is seriously making the game unplayable for me, which makes me sad as Dragon Age is my favorite video game franchise.

Here are the issues frustrating me:

Movement: I am not a AWSD player and using those controls frustrates me. In the other games I could hold down both mouse buttons to move forward, why has this been taken out and can you reactivate this?

Mouse clicking: I cannot target an enemy by clicking on it, I cannot interact with an item or door by clicking on it. Why is this? In fact, I can't see that clicking with your mouse does anything in the game. It's as if they want you to play 100% with the keyboard when I would like to use the keyboard for using abilities only (and pausing).

Tactics: I cannot find a setting in tactics to make non-controlled characters attack the same enemy that my controlled character is attacking. I found that this was something absolutely necessary for me in DA:O and DA2, the fact that I can't find such in this game is frustrating me quite a bit.

Better explanation about healing: This is something that is fine now that I know about it, but there is literally no reference in the game that healing spells no longer exist and everything is about potions. It's fine that you guys made that change, but a heads up in the game would have been nice.

Auto-Pausing: For a more tactical game, in the previous Dragon Age games you could make it so that as soon as combat begins, it would pause. I can't find that setting in this game if it exist anymore.

No Auto-Attack: This is EXTREMELY frustrating for me. I do not want to hold down buttons while I am playing the game. First of all, it is uncomfortable to my hands. Second, this is something I expect from a console game, not a PC game. If I wanted to play a console game, I would have purchased the game for my X-Box One. and I am not going to spend another $60 to buy the game a second time. I would walk away from the franchise 1st.

Most of these issues are making the game completely unplayable for me. I try to play the game for the love of the storyline, but after about 20 minutes, I will save my game and turn it off out of frustration. Can someone please let me know if there are fixes for any of these issues. If not, are said fixes coming in the future? If there are patches that will fix this coming in a month or so, I would rather just put the game down and come back to it in a few months when I know I will enjoy it. I am not currently enjoying Dragon Age: Inquisition and that makes me very sad considering how long I waited for this game to come out and how much I love the franchise.

when you play in tactical mode many of your problems will be gone. autoattack, click to attack, click to move, click to loot all work there. isnt a solution for everything but at least in combat it should help to enjoy your game more.

there should be an option in tactics that your party attacks your target (have to turn it off because it causes all kinds of problems as a d/d rogue)

Hi Sith Fenix, welcome to the forums. Your observations and concerns are shared by many.

My temporary solution to my gameplay problems was to buy a 360 controller but I understand this is not an acceptable option for some PC players. (And now I'm researching gaming keypads.)

BioWare has declared intent to produce Patch 3. No details or notes on timeline or content as far as I know.

What am I gonna say? That I'm here for exactly the same reasons? That I've been saying the same things since nov 18th?

That he is wasting his time even typing this because there will be no response from the Bio exec that started this thread?

He's no more 'my people' than he is 1 more member of the customer base Bioware decided to **** on for the sake of a bottom line.

the funny thing is the tactical mode of da:i is nearly the same as the normal paused mode in da:o. the only difference is you have to still move your camera with wasd instead of mouse cursor. really cant see how such a little tweak makes a game unplayable.

naturally that doesnt work for free roaming but for combat it works fine

That's the spirit!

Actually, I remember you as the guy who mentioned a noticeable and worrying lack of keyboard and mouse in promotional gameplay footage well before November 18. I thought that was a savvy catch.

I am not on record calling the game unplayable (just uncomfortable) so I can't offer anything on that point of view. Somewhat perversely, I am having better luck using the tactical mode with my controller.

I'm still waiting for the patch 3. I won't buy DA:I until they will release something, that will repair KB+M controlling.
I am patient enough, because I want to play a game which is complete and good.

Yeah the tac cam is also pretty much okay for me, although I would like to be able to move camera with mouse touching edge of screen, zoom out further, and tilt the camera further so we could see from below and up "worm's eye view".

But since I mainly use the action cam the above wouldn't really help me much :(

Vanilla tactical camera is very frustrating to use, I'm using it alot now as I rolled a mage and playing on nightmare.

We need:

- The ability to queue actions and movement.

- The ability to tell each individual to hold position instead of the whole group.

- The ability to click and drag to select companions

- The ability to pan using screen edge

- Camera zoom should be at least 2-3x back, especially when pulled down for forward view

- Camera automatic angle change should be an option instead of forced (I have to pull down the camera every time)

- Camera should STOP re-centering when selecting another character

- Companions should actually FOLLOW orders to completion, like they don't finish their interact or revive orders.

not you but sooo many others :D i mean really, using wasd is not rocket science. could the controls be better? hell yeah, especially at managment things like inventory. but thats just a matter of clunky and not unplayable.

i've seen yesterday a video of diablo 3 on consoles and blizzards managed to overhaul the complete controlling scheme to controller optimized, it feels completly different to pc. and developers must recognize THIS is the way to go. you just cannot force people to a control that doesnt fit very well to the plattform and when they want to grap money from both, pc and console players they have to support the strenghts of both in a different way. its sad enough often game mechanics are sacrificed for the limited possibilities of consoles, but additional try to force players to use worser input devices as usual is just bullshit. da:i is not the first game they were lazy in this regard, even mass effect 1 got a controler optimized interface. its nothing new and people complain about it till now with every right. and sometimes it gets so weird that games like xrebirth, a game with fleet managment and empire building are tried to make it controler optimized (a pc only title :D ). if you want to see controls that makes a game nearly unplayable (with or without controler) play this one

you can think about blizzard what you want, but in one thing they nail it in every single game. the way to play feels always comfortable and they recognized how important this is. when you compare for example path of exile and diablo 3 the first is from gamemechanics way better than diablo, but when you play diablo you have the feeling the game knows the whole time what you want to do and support you in this so that poe feels really clunky against it. same with starcraft in rts, the game just does in 99,9% what you want it to do + a lot little quality of live features makes it superior to most other rts titles (gameplay wise).

While I don't find it frustrating (prob. because I find the action cam the most frustrating) your list of points would make gameplay soooo much better :)

You can do that: right-click on a selected individual while in tac cam.

Only that they get bored of waiting and are moving again after a while.

Had that annoying thing happen when I needed to do the lever puzzle for a quest (the only thing when I really needed that, besides dragons).

Well, tactical could have been nice with a ream zoom out feature : you know, all the party visible at once and be able to give them order without moving painfully the screen with the keyboard and so on...

Finally, it's not so close from the previous...

JPR out!

Just tested, thanks for this!

Now we just need to be able to queue it; such as move here and hold.
