It's funny to compare the user score for DA:I and Divinity: Original Sin, by the way
well divinity was specially designed for pc in mind and inquisition was designed around the console, no matter how much bioware says pc was the lead platform... bull
o great know i want to play divinity again...thanks alot ![]()

Started with stuck at loading screens, then direct x errors, and now just random ctds with no error report or message for both SP and DAMP. Probably the most frustrating time I've ever experienced with a game in my life. Going back to other games till a patch is released.

For having that avatar, I don't see much confidence in your knowledge from recent posts.
Thats because I was using 4 years old GTX470, now I'm using an AMD. I have things that I care about, which I dont really expect you
understand.
Also, why judging people over avatars? I dont see much reason to reply you further.

You may have direct x crashes with that gtx 660 be prepared..
I have an gtx 660 Ti. no Problems. i even have a Quad Core. But, possible exception. i used the newsest nVidia 344.75 Drivers, made for the Game. oh my Quad Core is an i5 2400 and my System runs with Windows 7 64bit
Did these with problems, updated the DirectX drivers?
OK so this is a report on my starting experience with DA:I.
I had no DX crashes on start up
and I already had an SLi profile set in the 344.48 drivers so I thought I would give that a try first, since there was no specific SLi optimised profile with the newer GeForce 344.75 and no one seemed to report increased fps gains for DAI.
I also decided not to invoke an alternative SLi profile I had. Anyway things started smoothly I set a DSR res of 3840x2400 switched everything to Ultra except HBAO+ which I set at SSAO and set Vegetation at high (apparently that helps with sli flickering) and turned MSAA off for better performance. I left VSync on.
Since I was getting no dips in frames and everything worked swimmingly so I decided to quit the game. Then I configured a DX11 SweetFX profile for the game and flagged SMAA on.
I started MSI Afterburner so I could monitor GPU temps, GPU usage and fps. Restarted with no problems and quickly tested that SweetFX was working OK and it was. I then decided to begin a New Game so I could create a character and import my Game World State from the Keep.
So by now this was the early hours of Saturday morning
On entering the Character Creation proper I was getting good usage on both Gpu's but disappointingly fps was in the low 30's, which was surprising since all that was on screen was my character
. On my first creation attempt I accidentally hit finish before customising and had to quickly quit each of the next 3 cutscenes and dialogue choices before I could get back to the menu.
Now I have Continue or Newgame but after selecting Newgame and just before the Character Screen I get a CTD. No error messages nothing - just a marvelously clean exit to desktop. So on restart again I selected Newgame this time an immediate CTD before I get to import from the Keep. Now I'm getting a bit edgy. After another attempt and another CTD all without error reports, I'm thinking I need to delete my profile and savegame. So after a backup then delete of these I restart. Origin immediately re-syncs my savegame (damn it) now I'm thinking OK I'll drop my gfx settings down. I just choose to set global Gfx High and turned off all AA.
Finally I get back into the CC and after about 30 mins and 3/4 done, wham! ended with a CTD. Again No error messages nothing - just a clean exit to desktop. After restarting I set my res to 2560x1600 and turned off SweetFX which immediately gave me 40+ fps. This time I almost finish my character and then again no warning gone! CTD!
OK so I didn't experience any error warnings DX etc... but I did have 5 CTD's in succession with no real idea of what caused them...
...And at almost 4am really p****d off I go to bed!
We had people over during the day and in some ways I was glad of that because it get me chance to relax a little. This evening I did some digging around, googling CTD's in Character Creator but nothing showed up. Great! Now I'm thinking maybe the drivers are more significant than I realise but google didn't answer anything stability wise for 344.75's either. Aside from massive memory leaks I couldn't think of anything else to try since gfx settings hadn't helped and so after creating a restore point I installed GeForce 344.75 - WHQL drivers.
I left AB off and SFX off as a precaution and started DAI - leaving gfx a previous (last nights) settings, entered Character Creator.. suddenly....
... wham... hitting solid 60fps at 2560x1600 that was an increase of almost 20fps. Feeling confident and much more relaxed I quit Creator and reset res to 3840x2400 and quit the game. Turned AB and SFX back on... restarted set all game AA off and was getting around 45fps with everything at Ultra except set SSAO.
I was able to complete my character and completed the intro sequence. nVidia and EA/BW must have known that 344.75 were absolutely essential.
I haven't much to say yet about controls or combat but I will when I start the game proper tomorrow... one thing I'm immediately annoyed about is there's no walk, that's right, NO WALK option!. I know I'm not the only one who will want this and BW are apparently aware and acknowledge this need! Grrrr

The plane blew up while you were on it?
Honestly I've tried playing but I just can't do it. Every little thing about the control scheme seems designed to annoy me, with the sole exception of allowing dialogue selection with number keys.
The controller is a bit better but to be honest if I wanted to play the game with a controller I would have bought it for my 360 or One.
I own Origins on the PC, 360, and PS3. I own DAII on the PC and 360. The only time I've regretted buying a Dragon Age game is with Inquisition.
Am I being overly melodramatic? Yes, I admit I am. The reason is that I've seen a series I love take back-steps to the point I don't want to continue to play the latest one.

How long have we been waiting for a reply now? ...Even an update would be welcome right now, reassure people a bit at the least lol. It's pretty funny right now imagining them actually reading this and thinking "can't make false promises to fix it" or reasoning it with something similar to avoid added pressure. It's obvious something has to be done about this and the longer you guys leave it the worse the community is going to get.
Hell today I've come across a hell of a lot more bugs without the game that seem to be PC only, each day I'm here reading these comments and new topics and it's getting worse overall.

why can't bioware do what blizzard did when they ported Diablo 3 to consoles, make a seperate UI and control scheme for PC. Can you image the shitstorm the console people would have if blizzard did what bioware is doing, just transfer the UI and control scheme to gamepads and not created a separate UI and control schreme gamepad
Blizzard is one of the few studios around that seems to have the say on when something ships. They shipped the original WoW early (Horde side content and balance relative to Alliance was a joke) but that was a decade ago now...since then I don't think they have shipped anything early and without multiple rounds of actual beta testing (which WoW had as well). EA was going to ship this game before Thanksgiving. The End.
Had time for multiplayer, not time for a pc UI.
This is a depressing revelation. Since I do not play MP (like ME3, why the **** are you shoehorning a MP game into my SP franchise?) I had not even considered this. Now I am even more disappointed in Bioware.
I think spamming low user scores at Metacritic would work better than Facebook.
It's funny to compare the user score for DA:I and Divinity: Original Sin, by the way.
Does that ever work? Lots of AAA titles have 70-90 review scores and user scores 20-30 points less. It was awesome to see Divinity have such a great user score. Massive difference between Larian's and Bioware's interactions with their respective communities on launch week btw.
Well ok, I'm glad we are getting an update soon. And i'm glad frame rate issues will be fixed during cutscenes, but what about frame rate problems at every other point in the game? I pass the minimum specs(not by much, but still) and all I get I constantly get single frames all the time. Hopefully this will be more optimized in general and not just in the cutscenes.
What makes you think we are getting an update soon? AFAIK the last thing they posted here was the initial post in this thread 3 days ago.

when ever Microsoft/Sony approves the patches that are going to release...so in a few month or so, because they can't just release a patch for the pc as soon as possible...blah.blah.blah parity
like being kicked the balls by bioware and having to smile and say thank you to them

bow before the almighty gamepad
people who say just use a gamepad don't get it
its like if a AAA developer created a game for the console that was optimzed for KB+M and the gamepad control sucked ass
and then people complaining about the gamepad control were told go by a modular adaptor for their console so they can plug a KB+M into it so
they can have better controls
if you develop a game for system you expect the primary controls for that system to work as intended, KB+M for PCs and Gamepads for consoles
I mean poor PC controls is acceptable from developer like From Software cause they don't have experience with PC games but bioware has had decades
of experience making PC games and this is just poor craftsmanship
PC forever shafted by consoles

It's been almost a week, I still can't play.
Well after much fussing and fiddling...I found a way in. THIS is not intuitive, this is me falling over it after running around the Nvidia website looking for answers and nothing seems to address the...."want directx 10 ..you have directx 11 problem." Been driving me crazy, but luckily for me am willing to experiment and see what happens.
Not user friendly solution: Have the Origins app up on your task bar. Right click the icon, you should see Dragon Age: Inquisitions up there in the drop down list. Click it...enter game. Don't enter game from inside Origins (told you it was buggy) enter from the outside by rightclicking Origin icon on your task bar. This is not intuitive, and NOT the way I usually fire up my games. At any rate I am in the process of choosing a character...to build/play ( can we even build our own or did the devs make that choiceless...guess I'll find out soonish.)

i put would inquisitions pc ui and control scheme in the same league as fable anniversary's original pc ui and control scheme
but lionhead studios aleast recongized that their pc controls scheme sucked and released beta updates and patches in rapid sucession to try and the game become aleast tolerable to play with a KB+M and the UI became easier to naviagate

Dislike 'PC' gamers who just gave up and just use a controller it's like telling Bioware that PC gamers can be bullied and they can do this kind of crap all over again.
hey don't get all uppity
you have to smile after they slap your face
after all you should be grateful they even release the game on PC /s

I rather they fixed everything instead of just conning us that this game is build for PC. They want to build it for consoles then it's fine, but don't release it for PC if the KB & M controls are bad. Saves me money as well if no PC version is released.hey don't get all uppity

Are the controls perfect? Absolutely not. That being said, it's hardly "gamebreaking" or "a disaster". Adapt, and move on. Feedback is good, but keep **** in perspective.

If we don't let up they can do this kind of crap all over agian. Besides it is game breaking, I did not enjoy my second playthrough because the controls sucks.
