Any tips? At the moment the loudest for me is Headphones mode, but even that isn't very loud. So I have to play with my Razer Orca all the time, because I can hear stuff clearly. But it's annoying to play with headphones all the time.

I find that if I turn up the volume on my hearing-aids that seems to help a lot. You might want to go out and buy a pair of those. They're pretty common, and cheap. Also, you could try buying/using a controller...apparently that also seems to somehow make everything magically better.

Those sound options.
Home Theater, TV, Night, Headphones (what, tv?). I guess these are a leftover from the original, console version. Headphones are the loudest, i guess just stick to it and that is the best you can do. Voice is always too quiet if i dont use headphones regardless of which of these 4 option i use.

What's the return policy for this game?
If I do a direct download can I get a refund if it plays poorly on my machine?
Link to a return policy?

click to move would be cool without tactical camera. When Varric eventually stands in front of the dragon, id just click on him to switch character (now you cant), order him to move away by clicking on the ground with RMB (now you cant) then switch back character and continue the slice&dice show.
I agree. Not being able to position party members (as with previous games) using point-and-click, has severely crippled the game when trying to get through tricky combat situations.

Wasd controls are not the problem for DAI on PC. You didn't even need to use them for Origins or DA2 beacuse you had mouse navigation (L+R). And they could add mouse navigation back in, but it wouldn't solve the problem.just wonder how people managed to avoid wasd controls over the past years, i mean its really common. only replaying origin and da2 for a few dozen times? and no its not hardcore, even "stupid" fps call of duty players managed to learn it
didnt you have to use wasd in witchers combat too?
The problem is auto attack.
Because the whole concept of combat changes when you take it out. Having to 'chase' your targets vs. clicking on them w the mouse cursor and watching the basic attacks occur between cooldowns. That's how everyone is used to playing dragon age.
Not constantly trying to 'line up' attacks like you're playing with a controller. It's ridiculous.
So, depending on what the "2nd stage" of pc controls actually consists of in the next patch, we'll see if they implement auto attack in action cam. If they do that, then they should be able to do mouse nav, they should be able to stack orders, and click to move, and it should make tactical combat (without having to use the abortion aka Tac cam) flow much better.

I looked through these forums a bit for something mentioning my concern but did not find anything, so please forgive me if I am repeating something that is answered somewhere else.
A friend of mine bought DA:I and turned me onto it, but he bought the DA:I digital delux edition and I got the regular one. When we try to group in multiplayer together it give one or the other of us some version match error, even AFTER I bought the digital delux upgrade that gave me all the same content as that version.
Is there any plan to fix this? It is REALLY REALLY annoying to have a fun game that you cannot play with your friends. So, in the future please create a sucky game or one that is easier to play with my friends
thanks

I've already completed the game with these control issues, at some point, I had adapted and simply went through it. I would not agree that the controls are game breaking, it is what it is, you can still finish the game provided that's the only thing wrong with your experience besides terrible hang ups, lag, and software glitches. ---- IF YOU WANTED to.
The biggest frustration you will go quite mad over if you are highly into the controls will be when you go to attack an enemy but your character can only keep attacking in the wrong direction! Another terrible frustration is team members not really using the magic and attack a their supposed to use and having to use the bad combat camera to control the fight. The worst experience is the tough fights with Dragons due to them having multiple points to lock on to and fight. Gets very crazy difficult when said Dragons calls upon dragolings to help and you can't lock on to them appropriately because there are too many hit locks on the dragon that the system gets confused. ( I hammer fisted my keyboard once or twice ).
Regular combat is not so bad although at times, also tedious.
The PC version is just a tedious affair all around.
For all the trouble though? No. It's not a great game but it's not a bad game either, it's just an ok game.

Why do you say WASD when it is just W+Mouse? Skyrim is WASD, Inquisition is W+mouse

Yes, auto-attack will definitely help the KB+M players... including me. I can play as a tank or DD rogue again.

I've since finished the game and in reality, with all of the tech drama I have witnessed others report and what I endured myself until the patch adjustments, it's very questionable as to the price of admission.

35.....ehhhhh.... Yeah that's a good sale price. Fresh when it came out, it was already a 45.00 game.
Sorry Bioware, I'm a dwindling fan but still rooting to see you pick up the pace. This was a strong attempt don't get me wrong but....I think the creative juices are suffering from borrowing too much from other fantasy series and sandbox games. Need to keep your own identity not " Dragon Age: The Thedas Picker's Show brought to you by the History Channel via Bethesda Studios --- And The Witcher!

Besides the control options anyone else notice how the ranged characters like to fight right next to the enemies (melee) rather than from a nice range.. you cannot even tell your companions to attack from ranged since the setup for them is at a kindergarten level setup. You can't tell them to use their 2nd or 3rd type of potions you gave them depending on where the enemies are range or melee for example. The ability to change from bow to daggers during combat for the rogue is absolutely needed and it is about 2-3 steps backward from what they had in origins. Even the warriors need that ability during combat perhaps they kill a monster do a quick loot see something awesome they could use now and want to equip it fast. The "/" for swopping weapons sets like it was in DA:O should be brought back in the next patch. Shame on you Bioware.

Somehow I doubt we'll see auto-attack anytime soon (maybe player made mods) because it's obvious they're shooting for an "Action" game vice the traditional party centered RPG, even tho the very concept doesn't work for beans when you're trying to control multiple party members.
Pity.

OH!! what is the deal with the companions always running back and forth when you are in a conversation.. you almost have to always hit H before you chat so they don't knock you out of chat or off a cliff or something.

Someone brought up a point that I have noticed ---
Your team, aside from melee trained characters, often do wander to close to powerful enemies and end up either instantly dying from a big attack or simply getting killed by meleee attackes because they have no sense of getting away from the threat and acting like the Ranged fighters they are supposed to be.
I cannot tell you how many times I've spat and cussed because not only would Sera and Solas get too close, they also never used the talents that, if I had controlled them, would perfectly have kept them well out of range and useful.
I remember one occasion when I was leveled from 8-10 I believe and decided to attack a Giant for the first time. Its only when my people were all down except Varric where I used the tactics of keeping away from it but continuing to use his power shots. I ended up turning around the battle for win... but only because I began to micro manage something that, more or less, should have been followed.
Why my mages wanted to act like front line Knights I have no idea but they were mostly the cause of losses due to them using all of the potions and getting killed because they had no business being where they were in the combat situation.

You need to set their defensive skills/talents to "preferred", everything else on "enabled", and that's about the best you can do.
As for companions running back and forth in conversations, download the walk mod and switch to walk mode (the whole party walks/runs at your pace)

It's also obvious that pc players are majorly pissed.
To such an acknowledged degree that Bioware had to promise a further overhaul of pc controls in a blog entry the night before a patch that had absolutely nothing to do with pc controls. (save the loot on mini-map)
And auto attack is already in the freaking game. All they need to do is apply it to the controlled character and remove the insanely stupid "only while in Tac Cam" conditional for it.
