The bars disappear if there are no focus abilities on the quickbar? As in disappear completely?? ![]()

Yup, completely. And you also have 1 more ability point to spend elsewhere.
I'm quite curious about your build, as you don't have fade cloak o.O

*sigh* Great, another new action-oriented addition to Dragon Age I'm stuck with...
Bioware HUD options, please! HUD OPTIONS!!
Haha, yeah! You know what you can do with that request as far as Bioware is concerned, right? ![]()

Question: The 1-3 focus bars that build up (another action-oriented feature I hate) when killing enemies, can that be hidden permanently?
Interestng enough, I would like an XP bar instead of this crap

No matter how we end up fixing all the little issues we have, be it nexus.com or whomever, Bioware still needs to give us overall more options and possibilities for controls/menus/hud ![]()

I agree, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Funny though, isn't it.....how they had a Keyboard & Gaming mouse as promotional gear, yet gave no options to map commands to mouse buttons and the very bare minimum keyboard mappings.
If this ever gets any improvement, it will be done by the community, not Bioware. They seem unable to even implement a walk toggle, which does not inspire a lot of confidence in their abilities.

Oh come now, they clearly have the ability. The will to do so... not so much, thus far.

You think? Is that why they had to pull the Walk toggle from patch 2? Nah, they have a team of chimps over there patching the game.

I loved UI and controls in BG1+2, NWN, KOTOR, ME1-3 and Origins/DA2, they worked for the kind of kind gamplay each game had, and in most cases saw improvements upon what Bioware had done before. But Inquisition.... seems like Bioware went back 20 years in some ways, and then tried to combine that with some (IMO) awful action mechanics. End result is... not pretty.
I'm blaming the holidays for the delay, when something does happen I hope Bioware will at least take some of our 9000+ replies into consideration ![]()

If you click the big red button for only Bioware responses, there's even a statement from Allan Schumacher from that one night saying, Yes, the PC controls are not good enough, that's a valid criticism, or words to that effect.I loved UI and controls in BG1+2, NWN, KOTOR, ME1-3 and Origins/DA2, they worked for the kind of kind gamplay each game had, and (in most cases) saw improvements upon what Bioware had done before. My concern is how much actual turnover has gone on at Bioware that NOBODY was left to point these issues out? You could make the conclusion that they literally cleaned house ..... except for Laidlaw and Darrah.

Reminds me....the PC Controller Ability thingy neatly hides away when not in battle, but the KB&M hotbar is static.
Would have been nice if the KB&M interface was implemented less half-heartedly...
Obviously, I have not been able to check, but did this not change in the first patch? Or am I confusing it with something else that was added?
That whole bar stays on the screen even when the health bars disappear?

I know it is not a Bioware only thing. Microsoft for example don't use the official Xbox forum either. Yet this is what puzzles me. Why?
Don't get me wrong I understand that the immediate nature of Twitter and the like gets information out quickly but would it really take up too much of their time to repost that information here? It shouldn't be up to the users of the forum to do the job of Bioware staff.
I also find it hard to believe that they have greater control over 'toxic' posters on third party sites than they do here.
i think this one sounds reasonable
They stick to twitter because people only get about 15 words to complain about stuff.
for feedback they use reddit, deleting posts in bsn would only lead to "freedom of speech" nonsens, on reddit they are not responsible for it.
still a shame for an aaa publisher to abandon their own forums.

While I disagree with some of the vitriol, and certainly don't condone it, is it not obvious why it's so prevalent?
[...]
Building trust between publisher/corporation and consumer is an invaluable business tool, and Bioware isn't using it to their advantage -- more fool them, I guess.
Yeah, does feel like an opportunity missed. Oh well. We're a minority I've been told time and time again.
This has been known since 2010, Bioware stated that they don't look at their official forums for feedback/fan response but others, specifically naming reddit. I'd link the quote, but I don't really feel like digging it up. So if you feel you aren't being heard here, head there as that's one of their preferred hubs. If you've joined within the last year or so, then you probably wouldn't know. But those who've been with the BSN back when it was the BSN, this is nothing new. Rather than complain about the communication outlet they prefer, why don't you try using them to get your point across rather than waiting here for an answer that most likely isn't going to come?
It feels as though we are going to continue to hammer different sides of the same piece of metal ad infinitum.
I have not been here that long but I will take your words as truth regarding where they seek feedback. Why though? Why have a feedback forum and not visit it? Do they not feel that they are capable of distinguishing noise from signal? Is it an issue of sheer volume? Is the whole reason for this forum's existence for the sake of generic complacency? I hope not - on all accounts. I truly do.
They should be looking here. They should be conversing here. I do not care for the past experiences or policies that have tempered your view on this matter. It seems to have imprinted a certain sense of deference. Insofar that "this is the way it was and always will be". Label me an idealist if you wish. They still need to induce a positive culture change. Creating an echo chamber for the occasional catharsis is a bad, bad idea, and nothing good is going to come from it. So I'm going to continue to argue that they are better off in the long run speaking with us unwashed masses here. Not only on twitter. Not only on reddit. And yes, they will be griefed. It's the internet, anonymity curtain, trolling etc. Build a new policy and set a new standard. *steps down from soapbox*

Yeah, I don't think that post is helping us either Sparky862. I get that you're angry about the situation but we don't need calumny. It only helps vilify us. It'll be some thing for someone else to post about saying, "See!? This is why Bioware doesn't blah blah blah".

He didn't say the PC controls aren't good enough...He said...and double down on it later on..."The PC controls are not good enough FOR YOU" (bold is mine)...which means, is working as intended you just have to "evolve"
i made a post about everything that guy said in like page 80+ or something.....

Which I guess furthers my disbelief at the fact that none of the employees that worked on past non-console Dragon Age games remain with Bioware, and that the people who programmed the PC version of DAI likely never even experienced the previous games with mouse and keys. Which is just shocking.
Edit: oops.

They just did not want to make controls/UI for PC. It is much easier to port It from consoles, and that is the platform DA:I should be played on, since PC version is just a lazy port to throw us something that just works.

I can't agree, they actually make good port with many settings for graphic quality, Mantle support etc. But HUD/UI just sucks :-/
P.S. Also bugs can kill immersion..
