Okay, I went ahead and got the beta driver release for my AMD card and I have to say that it has improved performance immeasurably.

The game is running smoothly on Medium on my barely-adequate PC (well, it skims just above Minimum in most places, but I saw a few posts up that apparently The Witcher 2 is a demanding game - really? I play that on max with no issues whatsoever, except for the fact that I hate the game and die a lot, but that's hardly my poor machine's fault) so i can at least PLAY the game.

Area loading is incredibly slow but on the upside, the areas are so enormous that you shouldn't have to load more than once a session if you're a completionist like me).

The only hassle I have left is trying to exit the game. I have yet to be able to successfully exit the actual game - it crashes every single time. If it doesn't crash on 'quit to menu' it suddenly informs me once I have reached the main menu that I'm not connected to the DA servers (I totally am) and won't accept any input forcing me to ctrl+alt+del into the TM to close the game, which I'm sure is not good for anything involved.

My sarcasm is for everyone, as I am not a selfish individual.

My point was merely how can something as fundamental as quick-saving be a bad thing. Unless, like you say, it is corrupting files which, I'm sure you'll agree, does not happen with any regularity.

I agree, it doesn't happen often but when it does, it sucks balls. As a result I rarely if ever use quick save and most of the time I forget the option even exists. I'm just very used to saving through the menu. Call it a stubborn force of habit I have difficulties breaking.

And even so, I tried to play the game again this morning and I had another crash after a lousy 7 minutes, so... yeah *shrugs* I'm sure quick saving doesn't corrupt save games in DAI but that still doesn't help me now :P My last hope is a functional Nvidia driver/patch.

You guys made a game that has the potential to be groudbreaking. You've done most of your job. Please fix these issues in the coming patches so we can say what we really want to say, that Bioware is back.

How is it a massive **** up? Im sorry but bar the UI (which is debatable on preference), TacCam and mouse controls, everything seems to work fine. Yeah there's a few bug but all in all theres less bugs than any Bethesda game and everyone seems to suck them off for a new Skyrim (which had HORRIBLE controls and UI until after a few patches)

These things ruin gameplay experience as well as replayability, I can play DA 1 16 times because of its excellent story and vey good mouse and keyboard controls as well as excellent combat and control Interface with auto run, loot, action and attack with the right mouse button. This game I don't even want to play a second time due to bad UI interface and missing features from DA1 that they put in the TAC cam which is a piece of crap with the mouse and keyboard.

Also Skyrim mouse and keyboard controls are far better than DA3 ones although I have no idea how controllers are set up.

Their share value need no public campaign against it, it'll be affected anyway by what they do right or wrong. And I do not, ultimately, know what is right or wrong.

...Even if I have a belief.

Well this is quite true, and a reason I would not put a gaming company into my stock portfolio to be candid and transparent with you.

That said, there are people who are interested in keeping BIoware a financially viable computer games producer. It is their voice, a loyal voice at this moment in opposition to the current decision trend at Bioware, that might be useful to the company moving forward. But it is a voice that needs to be connected to financial performance. Quietly not buying the game won't do that. Complaining and not seeking a refund won't do that. So they need to make a little noise that parallels/explains the financial trend.

Of course, there is always Kickstarter and games like Kingdom Come Deliverance. http://kingdomcomerpg.com/  But that won't help Bioware even if it does service the market Bioware abandons.

As PR director, I always appreciated persons who were willing to talk straight with me, especially if that meant being brave enough to champion an unwelcome message. But sometimes to get the message, it has to be heard. I am suggesting that people who want to send the message to be heard do so on public platforms rather than inside walled gardens.

Based on the fact that Laidlaw and Darrah were behind the DA2 fiasco, I do not think the message was heard when it was first transmitted years ago.

Public address forums like Twitter and Facebook are the places to go for that kind of pressure. You do not even have to "like" to people to understand where the emotions so often expressed here, if sustained, will push the company's valuation of the division.

been checking the offical twitter feed and developers twitter and they say just say abunch of nothing, basic circling around the issues without actually giving a reason or address them

my favorite response to tweet

Tweet:

@dragonage Well so much for problem solving. Seems like "good enough" may have been the mantra over at @dragonage hq.

Response:

@serge619 Sorry if we gave that impression, Napoleon, certainly not our intent. Allow us to explain a bit further.

then no explaination or further tweet, its like "wave hand in front of face" then MAGIC

haven't seen any facebook groups about inquisition pc concerns or even just game concerns

Also, why judging people over avatars? I dont see much reason to reply you further.

Well you have that avatar for a reason, that's the reason why we should judge you over it.

feel there should be betting pool on when bioware release a patch or actually give some communication on what their doing to address the concern because acordding to them "Player experience is a top priority for us"

1 week

2-3 weeks

1-3 months

4-6 months

7-9 months

bet the patch will come when MS/Sony approves of the patch when ever that is, cause why just release a pc only patch

Their gameplay makes up for it.

its still a lazy console port. to port controls for a fps is not such a big deal but everything else in the game is still for controlers optimized, there was absolutely no effort to make it pc friendly. so both games are a lazy ports, but the impact in an fps is not as huge like in an rpg

at least the fps controls in borderlands are like other fps controls

inquistion has weird crpg controls like no click to move or loot usually expected from CRPGs, i mean compare Divinity: Original Sin to Inquisition

Divinity does the everthing so much better, better ui, controls, even tactical camera-i can actually see who i am attacking

Are you making this up ? The limited inventory space effects both PC and consoles, it looks like you just want to defend Bioware for its crap PC port.

Maybe not, but I do understand the pain in my mouse hand is because I'm forced to use both mouse buttons at the same time to play the game (combat). Thanks for the arthritis Bioware. Oh, use a controller? on a PC? ha! I actually did try but only 2 buttons worked and I had to task manager out of the game the game (as no menu options worked) and delete the profile information just to get back in, lol.

Well there are people who are afraid of communicating the truth. Maybe they are afraid that Bioware will not make a game again unless they are appeased. Maybe they are afraid of office politics if they speak their mind. The game is obviously a PC disaster. Yet there is no confirmation by anyone from the company about this fact. (It is like they are not listening; "PC optimization")

The comments in the media made by Cameron Lee http://www.videogame...nquisition.html as well as the demonstration on PC by Laidlaw (using Kb+M on camera) and Lee (controller?) the week before launch seem like someone should have known better. Now it is possible that this is just a job to these guys and they hang on to it, as many would do, by feining interest in the end product. Hence the lack of "testing." The game worked fine on Laidlaw's computer at the office - which is entirely possible because once in a great while I have read a comment that said all was okay. If it was tested on only one type of computer, this would likely account for the few comments saying the game works just fine. It would also suggest poor diligence has left Bioware blindsided.

The problems are more than just tweaks.

And Laidlaw, on behalf of his team, and Darrah, on behalf of the division, should be fired.

you would have a better chance to get world peace

to bioware/ea they already made money by people purchasing the game

lately it seem companies only care about the short term profit over the long term profit,

cultivating good will and retaining returning customers seems to be secondary properity or not a proerity to them

Seeing as they are the last few people from old bioware left that would further destroy the company. Give laidlaw his credit, the game is good underneath all the bullshit UI/control choices.
