I actually wouldn't be surprised if this is a bioware yearly thing that they take off january. Look at the bioware feed on twitter or facebook. Conspicuously they just seem to go into hiding from about mid Dec to early February. Heres to waiting til about Feb for the patch. i hear forced on steam is good its on sale right now any1 wanna play?.

I think they attempted to let this blow-over but aspects of this game are so outrageously bad on PC version that I don't think anybody is going anywhere until they're fixed.

I guess I can hope they're doing something major, as long as I'm not dead I can hope... hell, maybe even after I'm dead I can still hope.

Honestly i think i've played like three hours in and i already wish i'd not purchased this... jesus H i thought Dragon Age 2 was bad...

Tactical Garbage is my most hated thing as a Rogue.. its just.. what the hell is it there for..

The lack of potions and the barriers that last 2 secs and do very little for me? then the lovely trip back to the potion tent (i call it the Potion tent) every battle is beyond tedious..

The insane stuttering in cut scenes is amazingly informative.. i changed it to 60FPS and then i had sync problems and stuttering, then 30FPS and just stuttering.. was that suppose to fix the stuttering or what..

Then in the Game it decides i need to Crash with DXHung something something errors that i cannot click ok too..

BEST RPG IN EXISTANCE!

You can still ask for refund!

It's not too late for you.

 Big Snip

_______

_______
Since when is dumbing-down features and controls in a game supposed to be innovation.

----

Snip

LOL.

Here is what a pro DAI critic said in Metacritic website.

"....DA: Inquisition evolves from its predecessors by combining the best elements of 2 popular RPGs in modern era. It adopts the sandbox open world, lightweight RPG perspective and enormous fetch quest system from the highly praised Elder Scroll Skyrim, as well as the popular decision tree mechanism and the combat elements from another Bioware's master piece, Mass Effects 3.

By having a cohesive reasonance of 2 best elements from 2 outstanding RPGs, and adding tons of creative elements, this game simply becomes one larger than the sum of all parts. You have a large world to explore, tons of item collection and FedEx quests to play with, and the best button mashing mechanics to finish off your opponents. Skyrim and this game is great because they both remove the annoying character stat building mechanism. Stat is now only granted from equipment, how amazing and creative, isn't it? In addition, this game adopts the perfect RPG gaming style of Skyrim, i.e. explore first, just forget the plot, which removes player's frustration to recall memory about the main quest and story line. This is just like a great and sincere invitation to all COD fans and action gamers, as well as any potential causal gamers. It caters for the taste of all gamers around the world via greatly enhancing its accessibility. It is a master of everything rather than a jerk of all trade. This is a game for everyone!
....."

Just analyze the grammar and sentence structure.... My conclusion is that this guy is a professional writer and you can take it from there...Of course, I don;t agree with the above crap and notice the "..button smashing..".

Now for some PC crtique.

"..You may worry about that the return of the old-school tactical view from the mediocre DA:Origins may ruin your fantastic game play experience. Don't worry about that, it is just implemented for those hardcore players for their happiness in pausing the game all the time, breaking the pace of combat. This game can be handled easily by controlling your own character only under an action game style. The tactics setting of companion is simplified to an user friendly level for further accessibility. In contrast to DA: Origins, you can’t set up some complicated tactics for your companions, but this is unnecessary anyway. Friendly fire is disabled by default, so just forget your companions, and let them either fight or fall. You can handle fights easily by charging upfront and having high reflex in right timing of attack, dodge and button mashing. You can enjoy a fluid flow of combat all the time!.."

I tell you this guy is very, very suspicious.!!

Hah...

I usually don't pay much attention to EA Store and any offers they might be having, but today I noticed this:

(It probably was there earlier, but I couldn't give a damn)

DAI-Sun.jpg

"The Finest RPG in Existence." -The Sun

You mean the same Sun that thought the Deus Ex was real?

Really?

TBH, if something is written in The Sun, it's basically a BS.

lol... I can't even...

I mean DA:I is not necessary terrible, but "The Finest RPG in Existence" is a tad exaggerated, don't you think?

it looks like EA is desperate for sales and is flogging DAI as much as it can.

This thread has become mostly derailed by hostile language. Please keep discussion civil and productive. Thank you.

Good to know someone is reading. Now please go and tell Laidlaw and Co. to be polite and have someone post an acknowledgement that PATCH 3 is coming in 1st Q of 2015.

Thank you

This game was definitely made by console-focused developers. Nothing about this game feels well developed for the pc platform. The tactical mode is horrible, the lack of custom controls is horrible and the controls they gave us are terrible. PC version didn't even ship with a toggle-walk feature when console version did and we have a massively superior control scheme they can design around (mouse and keyboard) over a controller. You don't see anybody playing starcraft 2 with a controller for a reason. What in the hell? What the F did we do to deserve this kind of treatment. Paying PC customers need to suffer because of pirates? Is that where this is going?

Tired of this crap. Bioware is dumbing down everything they do at this point and they're going into this hello kitty island version of what they used to be all about, which used to be rich tactical games where you felt immersed and connected to your character. Want to know how connected I am to my dragon age inquisition character? Stopped at level 11, haven't played it since November. Can't even allocate stat points in this kiddy grind of a game, origins tactical mode was way superior and user-friendly than this crappy tac cam. Even the spells were dumbed down. The u.i compared to origins and even DA:2 is a clunky giant mess. Maxis did the same thing with simcity and the sims 4 compared to their previous versions, (this some EA publisher trend now or what?).

Since when is dumbing-down features and controls in a game supposed to be innovation. This backwards bullcrap in regards to game design needs to stop. Remember when you gave people OPTIONS? Like, auto-level characters stat points or let people like me that want to actually play the game allocate them ourselves? Take away more control and options please and just slap your crappy game on an IPAD because that's where this is heading.

cuz DA:I is not a game, it's an interactive movie... so people who don't like to think would become interested in it

Now that we know BIO is reading our posts, here is one for just Bioware.

I believe that the player  who payed 60-70+ dollars is entitled  to play the game as marketed by BIO who successfully stoke PC gamers' expectations with the famous "made by PC gamers for PC gamers" and  ".. we went back to our roots.."

Since DAI, the game I installed and played for > 150 hrs(mostly exploration), is not what I expected from those two quotes, I can only conclude that I was seduced by the equivalent of a snake oil salesman.

Listen BIO, my expectations from the two quotes above were based on my experience with DAO and DA2. In adddition, Laidlaw pontifically mentioned that Bioware listened to fan feedback. Specifically,  he mentioned that fans liked the tactical game of DAO and the action style of DA2.

To continue, Laidlaw went on to say that DAI would be a hybrid of DAO and Da2... taking the best elements of both games. Some of the BEST from those games is the tactical list, autoattack, click to move and a working tac cam..  .

I don't know about you Mr. Laidlaw, my definition of BEST is abviously much higher than yours. The sad thing is all dictionary definitions also don't agree with your low ball BEST.

Hey, Brogan, do you know they locked the thread last night (for me, say 12 hours ago).

I immediately started to pester 'them' post on three or four fan threads.  This morning, I wake up, have a coffee, check the forum and boom the thread is unlocked.

I like to think little me has had something to do with it, because it makes me happy.

Can I get an achievement, Bioware?

Im curious to know if there was anything said in specific that caused the mod in question to lock it. Or maybe if it was a new mod who had not been watching this thread and swapped with the 'normal guy' and did a double take after reading up the last few pages.

Regardless, it would be an extremely dubious move on the part of Bioware to close this thread without any further presence in which to answer the multitude of issues that exist.

This is what I was talking about earlier when I pointed out there is no room here for the trolls who are "fine" with the game and do not share a common goal with the pc gamers who are only following the thread, waiting for an announcement.

what would I actually rate this game if I were a critic, or rather one not paid to tow the company line...

I'd say I couldn't because it's does not feel finished, fix a few basic things... fix the bugs in the combat system, and redesign it so it actually plays well (tac cam included), patch the graphics engine so it functions relatively well, and a few other odds and ends I'd say 5/10, actually add in a few of the things promised like actual tactics, and a proper kb&m setup, I'd say 8-9/10, actually give us the whole list, plus a few items, such as actual outfits (plural) to choose from to wear in the keep, maybe the option to adorn some armor too, instead of just clothing, full 10/10 + goty.

Another post that needs to be repeated because it does a great job of summarizing what is clearly being felt by many in this thread.

Mods, if you are here doing anything above the basic job description of a forum 'nanny', this is the kind of post we need you to tweet, link or text to any Bioware Devs who need appraisal of the current situation here.  There are so many issues, these kinds of posts often get lost in the minutiae.

Imma add something here, yes? (edit - to echo Sartoz's post)

Remember when the devs were being all cute and cuddly with us, telling us how they have listened to our feedback (post DA2) and how it's helped them shape this here Dragon Age: Multiplayer MMO....I mean, Inquisition?

We were like their heroes and stuff, yo! They loved us! and all the way through the development cycle we were their best buddies...

How QUICKLY THAT CHANGED AFTER RELEASE DAY!!!

And they wonder why we are so angry?

Honestly, there is only two possibilities:

(A) Some troll reported one or several of us. You can easily guess who, only a handful of possibilities. It's not in my DNA to report so I won't be more precise than this; or

( B) My 'vote with our wallets' intervention on this thread: http://forum.bioware...3#entry18362989

have sthg to do with it.

Probably a little of both.  You know, mods are either interns, fans, or first-year employees, so....

In the end, PR prevailed over censorship.  Yeeeeaaaaah!

I just checked some other topics! OMG, they are full on. You definitely need a flak jacket!! This forum has been a marvelous example of restraint!!

A lot of very intelligent, passionate gamers here. I dare say that we would support Bioware to the hilt if only Bioware would play fair. That was evident in the days after Darrah started this thread. Somebody made a conscious decision to avoid interacting after that. Shame really!!

Yeha, wait over 9000 DLC with haira, eyes, colors, armors etc.

Bugs? UI? AI? PC controls? and anything else? Who cares, it's not BioWare's problems

They buy GOTY (goty, ha-ha-ha http://www.metacriti...on/user-reviews), and will not do something else.

Wait Patch 3, which will fix Cassandra's hair in dialogs (so as Callen's in patch 2, ha-ha-ha)

Its a real shame in regards to the removal of the tactics system. It was something unique in the DA franchise. Now we're left with micro managing using the awkward tac cam.

I'm actually impressed it wasn't locked before, we are being watched for sure. Better having your angry customers complaining in one thread than all over the forum and other sites, I guess.
