It amazes me that you people want to be treated with respect, but anyone outside your little group doesn't deserve to be treated with respect. This is why the devs don't talk here. This is why you deserve to be ignored.

I'm a relatively new PC gamer. I'm playing Inquisition on PC. I'm playing Inquisition with a controller. I can handle the mouse-and-keyboard controls, but the game was clearly designed for controllers. Yes, this is unfortunate. Yes, BioWare was a bit misleading. Yes, I'd like more info from them, if only to invalidate the nonsense spewed in this thread. But I'm a mature adult, and I recognize that the devs are humans, and some things take time, and many things aren't black-and-white. The absurd vitriol spewed here, framed as a self-righteous "moral crusade against corruption", disgusts me.

You said it yourself; "Yes, I'd like more info from them".

You want people to be constructive? You communicate with them, like Allan Schumacher did in NOVEMBER. I appreciated that he responded to us on UI and m/kb issues (and probably even did so on his own accord).

You want to anger your customers? You stone-wall them with silence in this thread, FOR A MONTH!!

Even more aggravating: Jump over to the DA Twitter account and there are responses aplenty:

1 hour ago "How goes the Inquisition?"

2 hours ago "Do you have any plans for your next play through?"

3 hours ago: "We're delighted to hear that you're enjoying it so much." ... WELL WHAT ABOUT THE ONES WHO AREN'T ENJOYING IT?! Shouldn't THEY be getting a response every once in a while?

Edit: I'm not mad at the devs, I LOVE THE DEVS, IT'S BIOWARE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!  <3   I'm mad at the lack of communication in this thread, and no I'm not expecting Darrah, Schumacher e.g. to answer, they've sure got better things to do. But with the interest Bioware is showing in that Twitter account we could at least get some kind of regular updates/responses on these forums too.

Still no news, no updates? Very sad indeed. I tried playing again but it is just an unenjoyable experience. Trying to close the first rift is just a nightmare. The toughest opponent truly is the camera, followed closely by the mini game of find the cursor.

After seeing all of these issues with functionality, I keep thinking back to what happened to "Dragon Age: Origins". While "Dragon Age: Origins" turned out to be a great game, the main problem with it was a memory leak. BioWare abandoned the memory leak problem, for they could not figure out how to fit the issue.

grrr...

I will hold off on buying "Dragon Age: Inquisition".

I want to see if the BIGGER issues are solved.

You can enable origins to use more than 2GB of ram thereby eliminating the memory leak problem. In fact, you have to if you want to mod the game.

I realize this will go unnoticed, hope the Devs had a good holiday.

I have stopped playing DA I because I got sick of the game crashing at nearly every cut scene.  My question is there ever going to be a fix for the Direct x error - Nvidia Graphs card?  I reduced my graphs to Medium and it looks terrible the hair is the worst it looks like a plastic wig stuck on their head.  Putting the Graphs to Medium stopped the crashes but the game looks terrible.  I am very disappointed.  This game didn't get game of the year for its graphs that is for sure.

- Tactical camera automatic angle switching needs an option to toggle on/off: Currently I'm having to pull it down each time, which then leads to the next problem.

- Tactical camera zoom too close: Not to mention pulling it down puts the camera INSIDE your PC, so trying to use click to move/auto attack tends to end up clicking on yourself.

I agree with the other KB/M control issues and the general UI being clunky on the PC, that goes without saying. But these issues with the tactical camera are foremost in my mind considering that I love the tactical combat aspect of DA.

I can't understand how anyone would think that tying zoom level to tilt angle would be a good idea, maybe on paper, but even a small amount of actual game time would show that it isn't.

Which makes me think it is an engine limitation? I don't know as i'm not a software engineer. But i'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt here.

With rare exception in wide open spaces, the tac cam is mostly useless. And even in those open spaces where the environment doesn't wreak havoc on it (forget caves or areas with dense foliage etc...), the fact that zoom and tilt are tied together coupled with the zoom level itself, is still is a horrible limitation.

In my opinion anyway.

Although i've stopped playing until and if the tac cam gets reworked, the starting aspects of the story and characters are decent and enjoyable.

Whatever you may think of the game in general, I just can't believe that most players would consider the current implementation of the PC tac cam (and UI/controls) to be anything other than, well, very very bad. And certainly what I would call a wall between the player and what otherwise may very well be a good game.

And considering that the tac cam is one of the top bullet points that made me give the franchise a second try after skipping DA2, I guess you could say that i'm very disappointed.

From what I've tried it's a very good game, but it's dragged down by some frustrating design flaws <_<

Edit: I give up. I'll check the patch notes to see if the game gets fixed, but other than that I'm done on this forum. Maybe I should create a Twitter account.

Theres a tactical camera in Dai? holy hells I missed that, ooh wait you mean thee useless top down view they gave us that stops you moving if you meet a rock or a bush?, or the one that you can forget about indoors. Besides that they removed 99% of the squad tactics we had in DA0 and left DAI with nothing worth a ****.

Wow, a lot of hate in this forum. Making stuff takes time you guys, and they just came back from a holiday break; Maybe if you guys didn't sound ready to bite someone's ear off or something, they'd feel more inclined to talk on here, as opposed to somewhere else.

They can take all the time they want to... as soon as they return the money they took from my account for a product that was not what I paid for.

Seriously- I can't walk out of a store with a product without paying for it, so why should it be OK for a company to do the reverse???

Riddle me that.

I confess I don't have a lot of time for the 'just back from the holiday break' excuse given that I have to work over each holiday. I don't begrudge people a break but we are now over two weeks into the year and the excuse for continuing to ignore this thread has worn thin.

Personally I can only hope their silence means they are hard at work to create fixes for Inquisition's many annoyances, and not that they just want people to go away.

You are lucky if:

- You played on nightmare and didn't notice how bad the AI manages the skills.

- Your melee character never attacked the air instead of the target

- Your ranged characters never tried to tank instead of getting away from melee enemies.

- You never had to select all party members at the same time and click to move to get them away from danger

- You could see far enough with the tactical camera.

- You had fun with only 8 slots for skills and being unable to change them in the middle of the battle.

- The lack of tooltips never bothered you, since you can remember absolutely all effects, damages and combos of all skills.

- Your party members always obeyed the hold command

- Holding the mouse button for basic attack never bothered you, the same mouse you have to use to select and aim some skills, select targets and potions, move the camera...

*Snorts* Nightmare? Try Hard, with the quest In Your Heart Shall Burn. Everything that is wrongly designed comes together there in one big catastrophe. Perhaps it can be done at the consoles at Hard, but unless you're an dedicated micromanager (and good at it), surviving it at hard at the PC is quite a feat. ... And I finished DA:O, DA:A and DA2 at my old account at Nightmare (with the exception of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt, those were 'just' at Hard - those two DLC bossfights can get quite insane at Nightmare, even if you're completely levelled and geared)

Just checked in here, and this was locked? Bioware likes to dig their own grave, don't they? *Shudder* I'll wait till new patches are out... Hopefully that is before I finish The Witcher 3 in May/June.

No wonder your head is shoved so far up Bioware's Ass that your licking the back of their eyeballs, your not a PC Gamer but a jazzed up Console Commoner, I'd wager you didn't even build your own PC and got a prebuilt one instead.

You're a funny one, you are. I've been playing rpgs on a home computer since 1986 (first computer was a Commodore 128) and I've always used "prebuilt" computers. Didn't realize that I was so inferior.

At this point I dont think it matters if they fix DAI.  Whether they fix it or not they still will be tainted in my eyes, I can never trust them again with this lack of communication.  It's like we are not being treated as people / customers, and they don't care as long as they have our money.

Hold your breath, Pillars of Eternity are out in march. Wonder if they fix DAI by then :P

Also they can't go around things won't hold and stand utterly still before a dragon blows it breath or are being attacked. They won't move!!!

Sooo.... moving right along sticking with legal methods of posting in the forum and avoiding attempts by some to derail the thread or get the thread locked again....

I'd like to express that I'm hoping that Bioware creates and announcement soon regarding their plan for fixing various issues that PC users are having, as a followup to their Dec announcement that PC controls and other things would be addressed.

First week sales numbers for Dragon Age Inquisition.

World wide:

http://www.vgchartz....ne-x360-ps3-pc/

US

http://www.vgchartz....ne-x360-ps3-pc/

So, PC sales of 84K in the US at $60 = 5$ million = 1st week of sales.

Console sales are much better

I had to completely change classes and difficulty levels because of that tactical setup, it was getting me killed as i'm fighting with the horrible controls more than the monsters..

And yeah i so love attacking the air in mid combat...

Am i forced to use a Archer or mage to enjoy this game, if so i want 50% of my money back because two classes are completely useless to use with these horrible controls.

I know it's kind of "off topic" and I'm sort of "dating" myself here- but I started on a C-64 with a tape drive and remember when the big "upgrade" was the C-128D with a built in 5.25" floppy drive (no hard drive yet). Woo hoo! You could now directly load disks without having to have an external drive...

Same for me started C-64,C-128, Amiga 1200 and finally the Amiga 4000. Good times.

Amstrad CPC464 was just before or around the C-16 era i think

It was around the same time as the C-64 but I think the advantage was the built-in tape drive versus an external drive.

We've come a long way with technology- and games have definitely come a long way, too. I'm willing to forgive a LOT of things, knowing how difficult it must be to program complex games, but one thing I'm not so willing to forgive outright is a product that's marketed for use on a PC that plays horribly with a well known traditional input system like keyboard and mouse- then to add insult to injury even suggesting that a controller would work "better" etc. If I wanted a console- I'd buy one. I bought and use a PC because I can do a helluva lot more with it (including making a living, which seems to be a foreign concept with a lot of kids these days) and enjoy gaming as well.
