I feel like I've been cheated on by my wife of 20+ years. It honestly leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth and a sickness in my stomach. I could've abided another unpopular title. I could've forgiven them falling flat on their face when honestly trying to make a game better but not succeeding. But the lies and deception, I cannot forgive.

Perfect

Lycana, quick!  edit that and add some text.

I got a warning for that  (gif only = spam, even a chicken-hug gif)

Actually, Inception is the perfect metaphor for this thread.

It feels like watching that damned top spin at the end waiting for news of Patch 3.

Here's hoping they don't go to credits with the thing still teetering.

I'd also like to identify myself as one of the brotherhood.

Bloodied my knuckles putting in in my first aftermarket cpu cooler years ago and have never looked back.

HAVE YOU BLOODIED YOUR KNUCKLES INSTALLING AN AFTERMARKET COOLER LIKE ME?  HAVE YOU PUT IN THE EFFORT??  IF NOT GTFO!  :)

The first PC I built I had to socket the RAM directly into the freaking motherboard... We didn't have this DIMM nonsense that's available today. Do a Google image search for "Dual inline package" and you'll see what I mean.

I've always defended BioWare against haters and people who doesn't understand human mistakes, or how capitalism is becoming the biggest threat to gaming (was its mother, like all mothers they become a threat to self respect). But this is ridiculous, i can respect that they release the game with bugs or if is undercooked as it has been the problem of gaming since new gens (ambitious basterds), but i can't respect when i'm not respected as it is the case since Patch2 release.

The problem is not the game but a company that has been unable to answer to its faithful costumers. What, you thank your fans with a trailer? how about doing something worth, not just my money, but my respect for the art you are making? How about spending some time in respecting us, who wake up to play an amazing experience (because it is an amazing experience regardless all the bs) and then go to sleep thinking about what just happened before our eyes!?

Because is clear that you guys are not working on fixing bugs or finishing cooking some features: for example, i had to wait to a fan-made mod to be able to walk. You be the judge to that situation.

Seriously BioWare, congrats on your work on this amazing game. But take a look at the mirror once in a while, you were an Inquisition, now you are just some castless dwarves who found a red lyrium vein and couldn't wait to jump to it.

And it's sad, because you know that we won't stop buying every piece of undercooked work that you do so you know that nothing bad will happen if you stop hearing us and fixing your own mistakes.

My experience with the game was smooth, not that many bugs. But i don't have to play a broken game to feel how you have given us fans the finger. All the respect and confidence that i have in the people writing the story, composing the soundtrack, drawing landscapes (etc.), is overshadowed by those incompetent in fixing our tiny worlds. All my respect and confidence in you was just shoved up MY ass. And it doesn't feel good.

EDIT: to make my point more clear. Imagine reading Asunder, but the pages fall and burn as they touch the air. It's a beautiful book, but as you go to the guy in charge and demand the book fixed, he just doesn't hear you (BY CHOICE).

Well.. Plenty of those posts are just the same people going at it, so.. Vocal minority.

That said, I want the PC patch as much as everyone else. We just have to be patient.

Well, I just installed DA Origins again with a few mods. no helmet hack, Dragon Age Redesigned, Dragon Age ENB/Lighting enhancements, and advanced tactics.  How amazingly refreshing it is to have tactics again. :>

It can't possibly be identical to both Origins and 2. (Nor should it, I'm always of the opinion that sequels should be their own thing, but that's just me.)

Yet the one control scheme the game keeps is near identical to that of Origins and DAII, the WASD and hold right mouse button for the camera control.

So it isn't unfair for people to be asking why Bioware chose to exclude the other two control options. Click to move, and LMB+RMB.

Yup, this sums up 400 pages worth.

Precisely! Despite not putting much (if any) stock in GOTY awards (regardless of who awards them), DA:I may very well be a deserving winner on fronts such as storytelling, world and character design and so on.
But the thing about games is...they're not books. They're not movies.
They require that extra connection between audience and product. If that connection can't be made, then the product has essentially failed. And I know, I know, some people can make that connection and I am really really glad they can. But the fact that some people can while others can't due to myriad technical issues, some of which outright prevent people from playing certain aspects of the game should never, ever be looked over.

I know I'm opening a can of worms here, but have a look at the notion of privilege:

Some people have the privilege of playing the game with few, if any, problems. They then disparage the people who complain about not being able to play the game saying that they should just deal with it, get used to it, get better equipment, change their thinking etc etc etc.
In an alternate situation (albeit a completely different one, and I apologise for using this analogy...but whatever!), it'd be like an upper/middle class, full time CEO of a multimillion dollar company turning their nose up at someone from a low socio-economic background and saying "well it's your own fault, stop being poor and be more like me!"
That attitude rubs me the wrong way.

It sickens me.

Anyway, that was a tangent and a half.

My original point was going to be that there are enough elements of the game that could quantify its GOTY status across the board, but the public relations officers, the marketers, the CEOs of BioWare sure as hell don't deserve those accolades. Credit where it is due goes to those who were passionate about creating the game world, not those who waved it about in its unfinished state in those godawful PR videos, making up stories about how it was made By PC gamers for PC gamers.

Well, considering I just finished Inquisition for my first time I'll probably be shelving it for a while. Damn shame that in that time BioWare couldn't patch up the PC version to make it even remotely as good as the PC version of Origins. Sad, really.
