I was being serious. His post explained a lot for me. I remember playing games when you needed Dos4GW to run under windows, then DirectX came in. Followed by Consoles and all that stuff.

I did appreciate him telling all that especially as it is not his native language! Imagine if I was trying to do the same in German, heaven forbid!!

Yes... but everything he claimed was demonstrably and factually wrong. He was, not to put a too fine a point on it, speaking out of his less lit orifices.

I still agree that in the general sense, Bioware has written themselves in a corner as a developer with this title. The conclusion is correct(ish), just not any of the claims - which are of a technical nature.

Interesting comparison of side quests in D:OS and DA:I

Divinity

Upon entering a Luculla Forest you follow up on your main quest to find a White Witch only to discover that her hut is covered with impassible barrier. You then have a couple options to remove it: 2 of these are obvious and one is hidden one. (don't want to spoil it to anyone, so I won't tell what options are these). So after removing the barrier you finally can enter the hut only to discover that White Witch isn't here, but there's a portal mirror, that takes you to her secret grotto. Here you discover part of her diary in which she hints on a chest hidden somewhere safe. So here are 2 ways of discovering it:

1. If any of your characters have a Pet perk you can save a boar, located deeper in a grotto, then you can talk to him and he will sniff out a treasure for you (it's actually a mini game which makes it even more awesome)

2. One of your character have a high Perception stat and/or Light Step perk, but then you'd have to navigate through entire grotto poking here and there.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Upon entering Hinterlands and discovering Refugee Camp you meet a guy whose wife is sick with some sort of asthma(?), he then asks you to look up for his son, who have a knowledge of a medicine, but now hangs around some crazy new cult. So here is a way of solving it.

1. You follow upon a marker on your map. Talk to the aforementioned son. He gives you the medicine. Done.

This same example works for a lot of "quests" in DA:I, but I've used this one because this simple quest could have a better story and deeper quest line attached to it. Maybe we could have used the plants we collect to brew the medicine? Maybe this is a renegade son and we had to solve his issues first?

Nope. Nothing of the sort. Inquifedex at it's finest.

That one as well.  No more likes so I have to answer without adding anything to  the conversation, except glee. Thank you :)

Either way, it's kinda depressing.

I hope it's wrong. Genuinely.

Again with the piracy and sales excuses! When will they ever learn?

Big companies sure do love using those excuses, ignoring the fact that there's plenty of piracy to go around on consoles, as well. Not to mention that PC game sales outsell console sales. Hell, Steam alone has more active users than XBOX Live or PSN. Throw in Origin, GOG and Desura, and the winner becomes clear.

So yeah, excuses are just that. Not much of adviser, that "adviser" of yours.

On a sidenote, anybody else prefers playing NWN PW over DAI? I recommend Amia, they still have fairly large population... Now that I think about it, fan base having access to DAI Toolset, just like the did with NWN, would've been a saving grace for DAI, but no. EA would rather try and milk us for DLCs, then lat users create their own content.

But damn, now that in thinking of it-if only DAI had the same multiplayer capabilities as NWN did, instead of current pathetic excuse for MP. Just think of all that huge, expansive space and areas, filled by community created quests and activities, an actual MMO for you and your friends... Then they'd only have to fix the controls for PC and tactical cam.

nope. not only that.

if they plan to do MMO, they should invest time in combat developement. this thing sucks and it's not tested. 1: if it's another wow clone, it won't be very successful, free to play won't help (dumbing down mechanics doesn't help in the long run - you get your kiddo sales for 4-5 months after release, but you offend hardcore nerds really invested in the game, willing to subscribe for life) 2: skyrim online is just terrible

another thing... MMO is listening to the community. this thread makes me believe they are not ready to do that :3

Yup infact i do not expect any dlc even, simple reason developing a dlc for 5 bloody systems is a suicidal move. Game did not break any of sale charts.

What're you talking about ?

Bioware already released a free DLC for MP for every platform.

https://store.xbox.c...47-b271a1d759a8

And they already planned to release more :

Well the pc community is target by the pirate's work so that is no way a pc market could generate more money than the console.

Guess what platform a pirate copy of Dragon Age Inquisition was available for first? Two weeks before the official release date console pirates on the 360 and PS3 were playing the game.

Aside from the two command line arguments "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+", and "-ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel" are there any other "fixes" I should be aware of.
Random Fact: Reinstalling the game and then my graphics driver actually helped quite bit.

you could try fiddlng with the command line perams

Oh please, there are plenty of deep, meaningful quests in DAI. Why, just the other day, I got a quest in Hissing Wastes to find a missing patrol. While out and about I killed some enemies and looted their chest. The quest updated. It brought a tear to my eye, it did!

On a serious note, you are comparing a main quest in D:OS to side content in DAI. There are plenty of good side quests in D:OS you could have used instead. :P

OK so it's Jan 18th...three months have passed since this "made for PC gamers by PC gamers" game was released.

It is still a thrid rate console port and no significant patch has been released.

Also latest drivers (Nvidia) still leave flickering landscape and whiteout fog and SLI problems.

What is being done?

Who do I direct myself to? Nvidia? Or are the problems with rendering this game deep rooted Bioware problems?

The PC mess with controls and gameplay is obviously Bioware...and still no proper communication? let alone a proper fix?!

Just what makes Bioware/EA think this is acceptable customer service?

An update please!!

You made it sound like original NWN was balanced out from the get go. Every persistent world out there made it's own changes, alterations, substitutes, new spells, custom spells, player made spells, custom classes, balanced feats, custom feats. They basically change default NWN meta to suit and fit into their worlds.

I'm not talking about actual MMO, more like server run sessions, much like DayZ. Heaven forbid BW/EA doing another MMO.

EA wanted. They had success with ME3MP, which had addicting gameplay and far superior balance, so people were willing to spend money. No freaking way anyone spends money on this rubberband fest.

There was a thread in the multiplayer forum from a  guy complaining he spent $400 on large chests and got crap gear out of all of them, so sadly, yes, someone is spending money in MP.

I'm now convinced all the 'design decisions', ie no healing, 8 abiities etc were implemented to support their vision of multiplayer. So much for MP not affecting the SP game.

For the people who think the game is beyond redemption and fundamentally a PoS...why are you still here? I get the frustration, but what's the point in beating a dead horse.

For the 50 millionth time if you, pdusen and the other Biodrones think this games is such amazeballs then why the ell are you in here commenting on a thread that does not have anything to do with you.Take your Marketing hype elsewhere.

Nope, I wasn't :D. I didn't compare The White Which main quest to DAI's side quest. Just a hidden chest thing  B)

Perhaps I got a little carried away in process, but can you forgive me just this one, please?

You're right, though, plenty of good side quests. Like Angry Troll, or Burning Ship (and sailors thereafter).

Because despite the disappointment--we are fans of the game and the Dragon Age world and would love it to live up to its promise.

Or, from a more cynical viewpoint, some of us just want our freaking money's worth and Bioware to deliver what they actually advertised.

Or, a mixture of both.

Also, I'm growing to really like some of the peeps in here. :D

pretty much both for me I love the DA Franchise Have Bought DAO UE twice, DA2 Twice DAI once( losing my touch lol) Along with all of the books and all the comics and here's why during my childhood in the early 80's when most 5yr old were watching Postman Pat,Fireman Sam,Thomas The Tank Engine,GI JOE and Captain Planet I was Watching this over and over some many times my dad had to make copies because I'd wear out the Video Cassette Tape https://www.youtube....h?v=vn9xV6_yyG0.

So yes I want the franchise to continue but I also want them to deliver the product as bloody advertised ( a PC Game by PC Gamers for PC Gamers)

It is hard to believe that anyone would spend a red cent on the multiplayer in this game. Playing it is a questionable venture, but paying for it... 400 dollars... not even for a game, but a part of a game.

It beggars belief.

you should try the anime 'chronicles of Lodoss war', disturbed Jim, if you haven't already.  Superb, intelligent, god-like dragons at the center of the plot.
