Wait, when you say "queue up commands" you mean giving 1 command per character, right? I mean, is there a way to tell a character "go here, then do this, then do that" in Tact Cam?

That's a complicated question.  This breaks it down better than anyone here can:

I use TC too, even in its current poor implementation. Aside from effectiveness or playstyle it's a matter of need. As a handicapped/disabled gamer I can't play without it.

And this is why the entire design decision to segregate traditional pc controls to Tac Cam only was a monumentally STUPID IDEA.

Not only is it inconvenient for the casual gamer, it is DISRESPECTFUL to disabled/handicapped gamers like the above.

Still can't believe Bio took that path...

heh, you wish booware had that knowledge to do so, sadly they lost those skills many many years ago.

wow selective perception at its best :D

I think you meant unbiased perception.  Perhaps it's the language barrier...

I'd have to agree that this patch seems really "light" in addressing the issues of PC Users in particular,

As I mentioned before the problem is that patches don't get made in a platform vacuum. So the first things they are going to fix are those issues that are affecting all platforms.

Platform specific issues are sadly going to be at the bottom of the list.

Still at least they haven't forgotten the PC completely. The specific fixes may only be crumbs but they are hopefully going to have more in the future.

Though to be honest by the time that comes around I expect I'll be playing with a controller.

Thanks. Now I can save time although it reinforces the need for devs to make changes to TC so it works as it should.

-----------

ABYSMAL PC CONTROLS: It's gotten better over the months, but I still cannot re-bind my mouse keys. My mouse has 7 buttons, and is designed for MMO setups. Since DA: I is trying so hard to be MMO-style, why not let me bind my extra mouse keys? Do you have a controller shoved up your rears so far that you can't program in decent KB+M controls?

In 2 months they have said absolutely nothing about this, even though BF4 uses the same engine and allows it natively.

It's really hard to believe.

Maybe we'll get a DLC with a quest to recover such an important knowledge. ;)

The fact that the PC specific thread is over 430 pages long should send a message about how pissed we are.

so most of the commands I issue from the tac-cam can/will be canceled when I exit tac cam? that explains a few things, actually. who came up with that idea?

---edit
I've played this game like I played mount & blade, more or less. issued orders to my group then exited tac-cam to control my character more effectively.

The fact that we finally have some patch notes for patch 3 does give hope that they are going to at least try to fix some issues. But, I'd be lying if I said I was remotely happy with what patch 3's fixes. The simple fact that none of the patch notes seemed to point to Bioware addressing the Directx crash is enough to make me cut my losses and deintall the game. Simply because all of patch 3 fixes mean nothing if the game is still going to be so unstable that a lot of people can't play it for more than a couple of min, if that.

Hey Everyone, notes for the upcoming Patch 3 on PC are now available here.

We're continuing to work on making your DA:I experience better, and we will provide more updates in the future when we can.

I can't confirm a release date just yet, but will update when I can.

Had to sign in and respond. Thank you for this information.

From the available list of patched fixes,  these are the ones I personally look forward to see.

1. Walk

2. Plains exploration

3. Mind and Fortify Blast

4.Varric's bum knee

5. Mouse cursor scaling (I hope it's what I think it is)

6. Display bar health fix.

7. tac-cam re-centering

Once, again,

Thanks

Yeah, there's a key you can set in the keybinds that pauses/unpauses for the tac cam, but when you exit tac cam it disregards all commands you've given (opting for "manual control" basically).

Reading this, it sounds like Patch 3 was a "small things" patch, and Patch 4 will be a "big things" patch?

Yes,

Patch 3 is bug fixes and minor stuff such as the Walk toggle. I'm surprised that the PJ fix is not here. Could be the cut scene cinematics have no armour... if they must redo the throne scene, please.. please eliminate that slouch

Patch 4, seems to be reserved for additional fixes and PC UI+KB&M controls....I hope.

They should fix Varric's squating, too. It's annoying, especially during the cutscenes.

- Fixed issue that could cause Varric’s legs to do odd things in some opt-in conversations.

it seems I might be getting a tiny sliver of hope back, as the lack of a walk toggle is the biggest, small annoyance to me with this game. though, bioware still has a long way to go, at least in regards to earning back my trust.

From what they fixed in the available time excluding 3 weeks of holiday I would say they probably have two developers working on fixes, so I doubt they are dedicating significant resources to fixing their game. After all, they have the bulk of the money that this game is going to generate already.

That being said, I sincerely hope that someone fixes the UI/Controls/Tactical Zoom/right click auto-attack(outside tactical view)/AI problems.

So the reason why we dont get patches in time is that DA Developers are working on ME4??

According to Shinobi602, Mass Effect 4 development team staff members have skyrocketed to around "200", this massive increase came after the launch of Dragon Age: Inquisition (before DAI launch, the staff members working on ME4 was around 50 or so).

Can you please FIX YOUR GAME YOU SOLD FIRST, before you make new games??

Unfortunally this would requires much memory, and as we know, the game was developed considering old generation, and thus we cant afford to use memory to issue more than one command. Sorry. - EA

Anyway, im not on US, but someone should go to PAX and complaint about this game - if allowed of course, i know a lot of security personnel - or at least to mock all the fanboys dressed as "inquisitor". That would be really a "shameful dispray".

Dragon Age: Inquisition was one of the biggest (in terms of scale and things players can do in the game) title on PS4/Xbox One. Earlier, Shinobi602 stated that Mass Effect 4 is more massive than DA: Inquisition, when asked: in what terms he is talking about? Shinobi602 replied

In other words, if you feel Inquisition is massive big, but empty as the void of the space, you will now be actually be able to experience the void of the galaxy!

Oh, I'm sure they'll keep us in the loop.  They said to watch this thread for updates, and we found out before these latest patch notes dropped that the plan posted by the producer had changed, right?  Surely they wouldn't drop this on such frustrated people without a heads-up that the patch wouldn't include the control improvements, right?  I mean, they have that basic level of contrition and/or respect after the deceptive marketing prior to launch, right?  Yeah?

...what?

From the linked article...

"There were about 50 or so devs on the game around when DAI shipped, that's since quadrupled in number."

Yeah, I'd have to say- that is a little bit disturbing. Bioware, I don't know who's making the decisions "on high" but you might want to let them know that stuff like this  doesn't really build confidence or endear anyone who's having issues that need to be addressed. Seriously.

From what I understand, it's SOP in the industry to move most of a game's development staff on to another project after launch and keep only a core group for patches/DLC.

And work on ME4 started well before DA:I was even released.

Or it would if the last 330 pages weren't the same general crowd of people screaming at each other and Bioware ad nasuem.
