It's there for me, though there's no default binding for it.  I simply bound it to caps lock.  It allows you to simply switch from a slow walk to a full speed run.  The walking feels a bit tankish but hey, it's walking.

So its working properly for you? Some people seem to be saying that they can toggle walk on but not off.

Can someone confirm how this fix was implemented?

It's is an on/off toggle, or is there a new keybind for it in the controls menu.

There's a walk toggle option in the controls menu.

Seemed to work flawlessly for me.

*sighs* I'm frustrated and sick of the stupid shite Bioware is putting out.  The more they seem to "fix" the more they break.  Look, Bioware, why don't you just fire your current team.  They seem very inept of doing even the most basic job of fixing things.  They don't seem to care.  Just come out and tell us:  "Hey, sorry.  Fixing the PC just isn't working, we're staying with consoles because they're less work and we don't want to work at appeasing the PC crowd."

I give up.  The game has gone from unplayable to completely broken for PC for me.  You just lost a customer, Bioware.

*two finger salute in the Stone Cold Steve Austin fashion*

I feel the same. I know there are insanely-gifted individuals at Bioware, but are there any on the PC side? I am seeing a shift towards consoles that is so blatant and a push toward a console MMORPG. I don't care for either, but EA controls the financials. I'm ready to look elsewhere, but in the meantime, I want my money's worth after Inquisition.

so not only are my shields useless now, but for some reason starting a new game refuses to let me import a custom save, it doesn't even check for one. is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

I think it has little to do with sound myself.  If I recall correctly, the developers did talk about how they needed the 30 FPS cap to keep animations from desyncing (which does happen at times if you enable the 60 FPS workaround).  They said they were looking into a solution for cutscene hitching on the engine side, they didn't say anything about audio.

And I'll pass on the cynicism myself.

just found this on the web, might be worth a look too

Dragon Age: Inquisition is an exquisite game, but it isn’t without its problems. I ran into a handful during my review, but lately they’ve been cropping up more and more. The most annoying one by far is a little audio glitch that strips the game of all its sound effects, and sometimes crashes dialogue entirely. BioWare has yet to fix it, but there are some ways around it.

First and foremost, check the settings in the audio menu. For some reason Inquisition can magically change you over to a surround sound setup even if it was rocking stereo the last time you played. If you’re using a headset or only a 2.1 speaker setup, this could seriously mess around with where the audio is being sent, and therefore cut it out entirely in some places.

It is a simple Walk/Run toggle.

What a ******* joke! Bioware takes no pride in their work and are apparently quite happy with this half-arsed solution, even after the modding community was able to make a toggle that included walk, jog and run? Wow, Bioware! You should hang your head in embarrassment!

Should I fall at your feet, worshipping with a grateful heart? Absolutely not. Why? Because I expected MUCH MORE!

[edit]

Cheat Engine walk mod still works: Caps to toggle between run and walk; X to toggle between run and jog;hold Alt to run.

That is how it's done.

Thanks but no thanks (for your crap attempt), Bioware

So NOW I can 'toggle' walk, and never run ever again ever. Did they even ****** test this!?!

Last Bioware full-price game ever...enough is enough. I should have waited a year and bought the POS for $10.

When you say walk/run, is the "run" the "run" we have in the pre-patch game or is it now a sprint?

I have to say, given none of the notes even touched armour, the fact that crafted shields are broken (even if it's just the tooltip) amuses me greatly. Reminds me of WoW during Cata when Blizzard finally fixed long-term Hunter bugs they broke warrior charge. To fix Warrior charge meant they re-broke the hunter and also carked disengage. They left disengage broken until mid-Panda (given my main was a Hunter and my son's a Warrior... heh). At least those things were linked, somehow. :D

"We fixed Varric's knees!"

"Yeah... no. We made them OP. Cassandra and Blackwall need new shields."

"Dammit, Varric!"

Disclaimer: I'm not blind, but I can't find it. Like that bottle of mustard sitting directly in the middle of leftovers in the refrigerator...

Where is the patch version number of the game? I can't find it. I'm not sure what patched version I have. I'm not sold on Origin telling me it's up to date. I want to walk for once and I see nothing new in keybindings or gameplay.

You had sprint.  There is also a jog, and then a walk.

The community fix was a 3 way toggle that encompassed all three.

BioWare's fix is walk or sprint.  I assume they didn't think anyone needed jog.  Or a mouse.  Har har.

Is the sprint faster than the previous default run on the PC, or the same speed?

once again i was right, pc controls of this game are beyond fixing. they can not fix it. that legendary person who designed controls of this game have no idea about mouse and keyboard.. you can walk with this patch and varric is not dancing when you talk with him thats all.

Keep pressing and don't give up. Patch 3 may not have held onto all of its original goals but that's not to say it's necessarily dismissed or forgotten. I for one won't let it be forgotten. As such, here's my personal succinct list:

1. UI is still a nightmare. Lack of tooltips. In game menu navigation. Lack of information gleaning at all really.
2. Controls continue to feature hallmarks of consignment to devices other than Keyboard and Mouse.
3. Tactical Camera... :? I can't mouse pan. I can't zoom out too far without cheat engine. I can't. I can't...

As always peace, love and soul.

RAGE QUIT! Aw. I need to move to Washington or Colorado.

You cannot RAGE QUIT. Things won't change. Just take a deep breath and do something else to take your mind off of it. Come back collected, refreshed and focused.

In my experience Sound+ GPU+ fps problems which include hitching have always been close buddies and can cause similar issues as a whole.Do you use a gpu software program? sometimes they can cause Hitching too.

Well, that at least explains why "sprint" never worked--I already was. Ha.

Gods, no wonder my Inquis always looked so tired.

I bet her bathroom smelled really nice. I'd use it too and I'm a man. I'd keep the seat up, I promise! And leave it just as clean as I found it. Hmm.. do I smell petula in here?

There are two different sprints, actually.  :D   In multiplayer, you can really sprint by pressing a key.  Sprint-sprint?  In single player with a controller you can walk, jog, and "sprint".  In single player without a controller you can walk and sprint, but only sprint-sprint in multiplayer.

Maybe it's walk, jog, and run fast.  Then sprint only with multiplayer.  Words!
