Good job Bioware. Your patch broke my game even more. Shields have 0 armor now and toggle walk doesn't even ****** work. Great ****** job.

How did you do that Bioware really? With every patch the game seems to get worse and worse  until you patch the previous patch.

As much as I hate to say it, I don't think that Inquisition can be fixed. Biodegradable are in way too deep to turn around and implement tactics or anything.

It maybe Frostbyte but I think it is more likely to be Laidlaw and Darrah.

They made their beds long ago, probably 4 years ago, when the ground rules were laid for DA2 and the mess we have now.

They will have no intention of giving you more than 8 abilities or letting you assign stats. If we had a toolkit you can be sure that we would already have the UI we deserve.

It was an intentional decision! They didn't leave it out due to an oversight. Designing for a console interface would have been done very early on. Other wise we would have seen a better tactics screen or a larger toolbar.

Shame really, I trusted them too.

haha, this! there is no fix for any of this, just damage control, and as you say theyve been pushing in this direction for years now. Ive been telling people from the start, long before the game came out, that tac cam was them paying lip service, and nothing more and that they never were going to implement it seriously or meaningfully

How is this game like any other kb/mouse game? The basics of kb/mouse combination is mouse look (without holding down a button) and the ability to bind mouse buttons.. just like in the previous DA games.   I don't know how long mouselook has been around but I can no longer remember a time when it wasn't standard and it sure didn't require me to.hold a button. I am not a spring chicken and having a button mashed the whole time tends to flare up the carpal tunnel.

Hmm, maybe because IF a game has that spinning thing without holding a button, I disable it. it's annoying, bump the mouse a hair the wrong way and the whole scene spins. Arrow keys are for looking around w/o moving, the mouse is for moving and firing a basic attack. I learned that way and, prefer it to stay that way. Numbers or Fkeys for abilities and, letters for fast movements and other general commands. Click to select, key or click to interact.

Mouselook w/o pressing a key is just a hassle. Mid fight and suddenly your looking the wrong way because your dog, cat or, kid bumped your elbow, or the screen doing 360's because you moved the mouse a hair unintentionally. NO THANKS.

Errr, I and many others have no problems with mouselook w/o pressing a key in other action RPGs or FPSs.

Can't imagine playing an FPS/TPS/SS (stealth shooter) without mouselook.

i wonder how many pc gamers will line up at PAX South to hear Bioware sing their own praise of DAI or show up to the developer signing, the same dev team that just released the recent patch...

But in a shooter the actual POV is tied to the mouse. That's different from a detached camera or a semi-detached camera.

Personally I would be fine with no mouselook if it wasn't for the overhaul in melee mechanics (timed blocking especially) - which I'm very happy for the change, and with the mod for mouselook/mouse-binding sword play is finally skill-based.

However, without the mod, with KB+M my fingers on WSAD/Shift/Space can not respond to Q (my block binding) fast enough compared to my RMB which is held down constantly in action cam. In all other swordplay games, PoP, Skyrim, MnB -> block is on the mouse. TW3 had LMB - fast attack, RMB - strong attack, however thanks to mouse button rebinding I had LMB - fast attack, MMB - strong attack, RMB - block. Index finger remains for attack.

This is why I am hoping for mouse button rebinding / mouse look toggle. Others have their own reasons why they wish it, especially for mouse button rebinding. For instance, since we no longer have click-to-move in action cam, nor the LMB+RMB = move forward functionality, others, including myself want to bind our MMB to move forward, which will allow for movement without the keyboard.

It's all about options.

What game are you playing?  Outside of tactical sword play is a button mash fiasco, from within tactical its just a tedious nightmare and more often than not your characters just run around trying to get into the perfect spot to shield bash... its a sad joke.  The latest patch just seals the deal for me, EA is dead to me.

It's nothing compared to other action RPGs sure but it's better than previous DAs where block was either - stat based, or an ability for invulnerability for a few seconds.

Yes it is skill-based, as parry/block n slash/shield wall are abilities that require timing to use effectively, allowing a skilled player to avoid damage while a newer player will not.

As for the game I'm playing for skill-based swordplay, it's DAI patch 2 + Walk/Jog/Run mod + DAI_helper on DAI nexus (for mouse look toggle/rebinding - which brings the system more to light)

I downloaded the new patch and I'm still not seeing a Walk/Run toggle; neither in Controls or Key Bindings. I have a vanilla game, no mods.

What's the default key preset?

This is based on what others have mentioned:

1) There is no default key preset, you have to set it yourself

2) Remove all command line arguments if you haven't already

3) The binding should be near the auto-run bind.

Vanilla game, no command line arguments and no mods. The binding/option is not there (nor elsewhere - since I've literally had people tell me it's in Controls, no, wait, it's in Key Bindings. It's in neither spot). I've confirmed multiple times.

100%, abso-friggin-lutely.

Bioware, whatever you have planned for the next patch, you MUST take the above suggestions into serious consideration.  Give pc users back our options.

Positive. My new Radar not only gives the extended ping, but also flickers red now with 1.04. It's very annoying as I always think it's an enemy.

My bet is that the only people with the Run toggle are those *with* the mod and the default Run toggle doesn't exist yet.

And if it's still not there. I believe I saw a similar conversation earlier in speaking with Cyan Griffonclaw:

Good luck regardless N7 Lisbeth.

Looks like you will have to hit "repair" or reinstall =/

EDIT: Nvm, seems Ncongruous has your solution :)

I appreciate the link. Sadly, I have no controller to unplug and plug back in since I am a PC user (that abhors joysticks).

Is your version coming up as 1.0.0.4 like me or does it say 1.04 or 1.03?

?! Ok, time to repair/reinstall then, unless someone else has a solution :(
