Is your version coming up as 1.0.0.4 like me or does it say 1.04 or 1.03?

It doesn't actually list version numbers anywhere. I did download patch 3 earlier today and Origin (quitting and restarted) proclaims the game "Up To Date" and in "Working Condition" (repair). Still no walk toggle.

Quick question- when you load the game, at the menu- do you see Connecting to EA servers, etc. or does it say "cannot connect" when you hit the button at bottom left?

My installerdata.xml says version 4, (1.0.0.4). And I can connect with the Dragon Age servers, never had an issue there. I use a custom world setting.

OK yeah the custom world setting really shouldn't matter. Just checking to make sure Origin is updating your DA:I client correctly. I had an issue originally where it wouldn't connect and had to uninstall/reinstall Origin itself (not the game) just to get DA:I to connect (seems counter-intuitive, I know)

yep, same as what I have.. I'm just wondering if this was actually the patch or if this is a pre patch.. You would think they would announce something like that..

This is the full patch (the hot fix for Patch 2 was 1.0.0.3, and the new patch is 1.0.0.4).

Looking across the Forums, I think this is an ominous sign. This topic has been relatively peaceful! Occasional firefights, tolls and differing opinions, but relatively quiet. Some of the other topics are quietly festering! Or loudly depending on your opinion. Throwing in Patch 3 to the simmering areas is not a good idea!!

Head between your legs and brace for impact I think.

Don't light that fuse!!!

It seems BioWare care about us about as much as we'd feared. After the ME3 / DA2 screwups I was worried that DAI would get the same neglect.. Unfortunately, it did.

RIP BioWare. I hope ME4 is such a flop that you're unable to make ends meet and are forced to close. You're flagging already, it's time to be put down.

Is this a patch? Wait. I'll sacrifice myself and jump on the grenade for the rest of us.

You would think one of the first things they would fix is the dam mosaics positions in Hinterlands as well.

Honestly Dub, I don't think it's resentment, it just seems like a lack of talent/programming skill.

I honestly don't know which is worse, Brogan. They have been working with Frostbite3 for 4 f****n years! If you are not able to get anything decent done after 4 years with a software program in your actual job, you're clearly in the wrong line of work.

No.....I think the people at Bioware have become very proud and arrogant working in their own little bubble, thinking they are achieving some kind of miracle and to them the outcry of fans here is little more than white noise.

We're an ungrateful bunch of kids, right? It is f****n unbelievable!

The FACT that fans care more about the game than the actual developer, demonstrated in the excellent walk toggle mod created in virtually no time at all, an armor toggle in Skyhold, etc etc. just pisses me off.

But to the people who made the damn game, these are baffling complexities they can't fix, even after more than 2 months after the game has been released?

This is total bullshit!

I upgraded to patch3 then went on multiplayer and lo and behold I had a key drop error and the leader had to drop to continue.I then proceed to the forum and find the key drop was supposedly fixed.Well long story short,it is not.

Exactly. Skyrim would be an afterthought if not for it's moddability. In that lies it's greatest success IMO.

But how could EA sell FedEx quest styles DLC? It must be protected from unfair competition of user mods.

im surprised so many of y'all hadnt read those gamespot interviews before. Its one of my nr1 go to websites, and the "gems" that bioware devs have been dropping there in regards to DAI have been pure gold. Having been reading all of those before the game came out, all the lies and bs theyve been spewing became very obvious immediately

I really avoid those click bait specialized "journalism" sites... because its either paid reviews or "exclusive" interviews dictated by marketing.

Anyway, EA is so bad that a lot of marketing press releases are just horrible.

I usually turn to those kind of sites just when things "hit the fan" to know what was the official marketing statments.

Hmm, maybe because IF a game has that spinning thing without holding a button, I disable it. it's annoying, bump the mouse a hair the wrong way and the whole scene spins. Arrow keys are for looking around w/o moving, the mouse is for moving and firing a basic attack. I learned that way and, prefer it to stay that way. Numbers or Fkeys for abilities and, letters for fast movements and other general commands. Click to select, key or click to interact.

Mouselook w/o pressing a key is just a hassle. Mid fight and suddenly your looking the wrong way because your dog, cat or, kid bumped your elbow, or the screen doing 360's because you moved the mouse a hair unintentionally. NO THANKS.

That is so lol, i just try to imagine how you try to play your games. Playing an FPS would be impossible, because as you describe, you are surrounded by animals and people just poking at your arms. If you have so much issues with steading your hands or you have parkinson, just try to use a less sensible mouse.

I have a cat, he usually have the annoying (yet cute) way to express his feelings. Usually when it want attention, or just want some food, he goes over my case, sometimes even turn off the computer (thank god changed case to a power button on lateral now), and just lay on mouse pad. Its annoying, but there is no much disturbance. And i can play just fine, your excuse for such bad interface is bizarre.

Mods are actually a powerful tool to sell DLC. Especially when the DLC adds features that are complex enough to differentiate itself from vanilla (new animations/textures/assets/voices/etc) - modders capitalise on these features and suddenly... boom - latest of the version requires you to buy DLC to play the mod. Kaching! $$$$$$$$$$

They just want the lazy way, ie, sell "horse armor" kinda of DLC.

Thus far Bioware has released quite a few good DLCs with their past titles. So in that sense they will have nothing to worry about if they ever do embrace the modding community. I agree though, "horse armor" DLC won't cut it.

However now I wonder if Bioware even pays attention to this market, which is - in the end, PC orientated.

Wait, come to think of it, didn't Bethesda make mods available on consoles as well? Ha!

I just want the stupid mini map to have a North option! And to show companions on it! That would really show the stupid AI!!

Not after WoW type, show everything, herbs, ore, quest givers! TMI!

you know what? this patch actually made me happy, one fix turned out to be just the thing i need - the no more autocenter on char thingy. it's not perfect, far from it - there are still some annoying issues with tac-cam.

but with this tiny fix i don't have to adjust awkward&annoying camera every 2 secs to check wth is going on on the battlefield

only if patches didn't break other things... /sigh
