Thus far Bioware has released quite a few good DLCs with their past titles. So in that sense they will have nothing to worry about if they ever do embrace the modding community. I agree though, "horse armor" DLC won't cut it.
However now I wonder if Bioware even pays attention to this market, which is - in the end, PC orientated.
Wait, come to think of it, didn't Bethesda make mods available on consoles as well? Ha!
Mods are unsuported; so if you are willing to install a mod you are taking the risk of breaking the game. This is a calculated risk, but on console land this have potential to create a lot of issues. A lot of man child would complaint that the mods "Developer" "authorized" damaged their games and saves.
Console companies also dont want this kind of fuss and issues. Nonetheless, a lot of console players would welcome mods, even considering the risks, but you cant really expect community mods to be delivered. The last thing devs/publishers/console makers want is to fill their support inbox with a myriad of issues on modded games.

not sure about mods, but the cheat engine & datatable works after patching (tac-cam zoom out is awesome, wearing amour instead of PJs in skyhold is nice too)

Yes I've heard, still awaiting more info on the crafted shields/armor bug however as well as banter before I upgrade. Holding off the temptation for now, I do appreciate that they fixed tac cam auto-centering, which was meant to be fixed in patch 2.

Nothing wrong... YET
I'm waiting out in case of horror stories after some testing is done. If I hear praises and shouts of joy instead (or a very quiet banter thread - which to me would mean the same thing), then I'll upgrade ![]()

They did and it has brought back the boredom into the game.

Basically, it has not been fixed at all, even tho it was supposed to. Kinda craps the mood, after the excited expectation of finally being able to play without the total silence of companions.

I honestly don't know which is worse, Brogan. They have been working with Frostbite3 for 4 f****n years! If you are not able to get anything decent done after 4 years with a software program in your actual job, you're clearly in the wrong line of work.
No.....I think the people at Bioware have become very proud and arrogant working in their own little bubble, thinking they are achieving some kind of miracle and to them the outcry of fans here is little more than white noise.
We're an ungrateful bunch of kids, right? It is f****n unbelievable!
The FACT that fans care more about the game than the actual developer, demonstrated in the excellent walk toggle mod created in virtually no time at all, an armor toggle in Skyhold, etc etc. just pisses me off.
But to the people who made the damn game, these are baffling complexities they can't fix, even after more than 2 months after the game has been released?
This is total bullshit!
They changed engines during development and it makes sense, Frostbite 3 was just in pre-alpha stage at DICE four years ago. But even so, they had years, as in more than one at least, to work with the Frostbite 3 engine. They did have four years to develop the interface, story, missions, lore, characters and everything not related to the engine - and that seems wasted.
Changing engines is usually a long and unproductive process, mostly due to different capabilities and familiarity. Frostbite 3 is better than anything BW was using before, but BW devs are of course not familiar with it, but they thought it worth the effort.
This results in some strange graphics at times, the facial animations and animation of characters in general seems to be inherited completely from the last generation engine they used, while landscape and vista is amazing. It's quite the dichotomy.
But yeah, this is all about business. Of course it is always somewhat about business, but BW of late have made it pretty clear that they don't care about making games that they want to play. I mean, a developer who approaches the market in such a cynical way as to make a game that checks "all the boxes" for the largest possible demographic, instead of simply making a game they themselves want to play.
Yes, they are arrogant indeed, in that sense. They think they can design, develop and sell a game made for a demographic which only exists on paper in a marketing department.

Yeah, that's a disconnect right there. There was an interview with Larian Studios' Swen who mentioned he build Divinity Original Sin in the end - for him and his girlfriend. It's my GOTY for 2014 while I wanted DAI to be. Solid gameplay throughout DOS, and he plays his own game enough to even be able to sh-t on his own game despite critical acclaim - now that's a real dev who cares about his games.
This doesn't have to be limited to the indies, look at Firaxis' Xcom. Still remember when Jake Solomon was in a "2v2" MP session on youtube, and on his team he encouraged the journalist to make an overpowered squad to beat the other team using exploits.
Journalist: "No, that's cheating"
Jake: "It's not cheating, I just haven't fixed it yet!" lol
At Bioware instead we have the devs tweeting about playing Hearthstone or something. I don't know, from my perspective it's just... off.

It may be even worse.. I have just read some posts from players who never had the party silence before patch3 reporting that now they have this problem. So basically, not only the problem wasn't fixed but the new patch broke the game for many others
And then there is also the horrible shields bug which is a side effect of this patch...

Hey Jackal, my personal GOTY is Shadowrun Dragonfall Extended Edition (Shadowrun 'reboot' as a whole is great as well) what do you think?
Divinity is I think the better game all and all but still, my fav. SR has also the potential to be a new Neverwinters Night

not boredom you need to at least go out and find the dam material you need instead of copying it.

Haven't got around to it unfortunately, most of my time last year was buried in Divinity Original Sin, M&B:Warband (still), Space Engineers, and Planet Explorers alpha. PE being the game played before DAI. Now that you mention it, might give Shadowrun a try.
Made this myself with the ingame creation system in Planet Explorers:

Decent year for indies really, Divinity still takes the cake however overall.

Glad to see that someone from BW popped in to provide information about patch 3, but to be honest I would appreciate it if we would get more frequently updates. Obviously I understand that the developers had a well deserved holiday during the holiday period, but, as others have already mentioned: the deafening silence is not really helping with keeping hopes up.
I have not yet updated my game, but I'm glad to see that some things have been looked into (personal quests, some glitches and some improvements for tac cam and walk toggle). I understand that not everything can be fixed right away, but some honesty in: 'thank you for your feedback, we are prioritising issues as crashes and freezes, but we are not sure yet if we can provide anything for auto-attack or click-to-move. We hope to launch patch 4 in about 2 months.' Of course, there will ALWAYS be people who complain, but it would at least make clear that people are looking into issues we have, and that we are not completely ignored.
All together, my fangirlism has been doused quite a lot. First there is the 'you cannot order the CE or deluxe edition, because you live in Europe and play on PC', than I did not get a preorder bonus (despite ordering in June), because I ordered at a national company (got bad experience from ordering abroad for DA:2)... finally playing, and I love the way the game looks, the characters and the main storyline! But the lack of auto-attack, crashing when entering the warroom, MMO sidequests and other things that have been mentioned in the previous 400+ pages... Yes, I fell for the advertised 'pc game', and I'm disappointed about it.
I liked DA:2, despite the issues it had. If DA:I would fix the most glaring issues (and I mean crashes, quests not starting and other things that are supposed to be there, but not working), I would settle with the rest. I still like the game, I really do, but I wished that I could love it.

For me, Planet Explorers version 0.84alpha was more stable than many AAA releases, sadly including DAI (which crashed constantly on me at first, until I "fixed" it by only playing in windowed full screen mode and using latest AMD drivers). I have not tested patch 3 to see if I can finally use full screen mode however, but thankfully windowed full screen works fine.
Regardless Planet Explorers has already given me 200 hours of gaming and creation goodness, a few crashes/glitches, but stable overall. it's still alpha (which means planned features are not yet implemented), sound assets are not fully in, main storyline is not yet complete, etc etc. The devs themselves are planning to upgrade to Unity 5 later - which I'm waiting for. However, already, here's what people have made: http://www.isoplanetexplorer.com/
And since this is the Bioware forum, for the fans:
http://www.isoplanet...mo-ME-1329.html
PE 0.86 is still working fine for me too, give it a shot, though it is a sandbox game. You'll be mining and harvesting resources, however, for some reason, I never got bored, as I was not just mining crap I was building a mining complex at the same time with ladders/torches/defences/etc etc. Then I used those resources to build cars, trucks, jets, helicopters, boats, submarines, then building my own colony and home. You can make ANYTHING in the game. Including:
http://www.isoplanet...royer-1402.html
http://www.isoplanet...sport-1190.html
The ingame creation system does require some skill, and can be intimidating at first, but it is so easy to use that once you get the hang of it, you can churn out vehicles within the hour. Well, maybe not a star destroyer like that guy lol, but yeah.

Did they actually make any improvements to the pc interface ? I thought that was the focus of patch 3 but I can't find anything other than a new toggle option to walk (which makes no sense since there seems to be a non-functional toggle to run) which is really confusing - are there three speeds walk [??] run or does run just not work so they added walk ? Very confusing; but other than that I can't find any changes to the game worth mentioning.
