That was what i forgot.

Well its not action-game anymore if you have click-to-move and tactics, who would buy an rpg nowadays? Bioware has it right. People are just standing in the way of the innovation EA creates. Not surprised they dont want to change a thing in their precious game.. B) I am just wasting my time here instead collecting shards, bottles, spamming radar and planting banners play.

Oh, have you heard the game is like skyrim big? What? Some of you say you cant find out because of the crashes? Are you sure its not patched? the game is out for 2 months. Well....

You do realize the top 1% in America pay more than 38% of the taxes in the US, yes? The bottom 5% pay less than 2%

I know, it's horrible.  Well, when they bother to pay them.  Or don't renounce their US citizenship and abandon America because keeping a mere $3 BILLION dollars after taxes is just unfair. Those lazy bastards who have 29% taken out of their $50,000 annual salaries just don't understand how good they got it.

Yea, this part was particularly ominous:

As for the improved controls, UI, and other elements fans have repeatedly asked for, BioWare was worrisomely hesitant to go into specifics. I asked if a better UI, an overhauled tactical view, click-to-move functionality, and better auto-attack were in the works, and all the developer offered was, "We're continuing to work on further improvements to the PC experience for our players." Huh.

Ah well, I guess I'll continue to work on other games till they realize they need to scrap everything, and duplicate the Origins scheme for DAI.

They better do it before May though, cuz everyone will have moved on to Witcher.

When I read part, it was a good hurt. Good that someone from a gaming publication elicited a response, and hurt that it was the same boilerplate statement echoed here... I still think they can make this right but they really need to overhaul that tactical camera as you say. If they can make the game function in tactical camera mode 99% of the time - featuring all the backend guts that made Origins and 2 what they were, eg: queued commands, mouse navigation, they will have made a leap forward in PC user experience. Even though my personal feelings are more for the UI if tac-cam gets done, I think we should all hug.

Lot of gems to play in the meantime though.  Divinity Original Sin, Wasteland 2, Path of Exile, Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall, and upcoming Pillars of Eternity.

Yes. For the weary and jaded please take back your enjoyment of games.

That's some cap. The free stuff is  pretty small, download-wise.

Yeah... but who wants small stuff??

I actually agree completely on the physical media, I prefer all my games on physical media and in a box if available, and I'm willing to pay premium for that, and I do - but damn your data-cap must be frustratingly small, most of the games EA is giving away are 200-900MB. Some are 4GBs, like Battlefield 3 and Dead Space, but Theme Hospital, Sim City 2000, Crusader and such are reasonably tiny.

Anyway, you can claim them even though you don't download them, and then if your internet data-cap ever improves, you can take advantage of that :)

Regardless, I appreciate the gesture EA is making with Origin and giveaways of their classics. It's a scheme to get us to use Origin and buy games on Origin, but... all I can say is: Well played EA.

Oh? I din't know I could claim and download later...will try and see if that works.

Much appreciated...

This sucks, I don't know what to do or where to go to vent my frustrations and disappointment except this forum. I've waited...and waited...and waited...to simply get a functioning game months after I shelled out $60 (Only for them to promo it for $40 2 weeks later). I'm mind boggled as to why they would do this to the PC community...I have tried every hot fix, every workaround, and here I am, January 22nd, a die hard DA fan, spirit totally crushed.

SLI GTX 770 4gb x4, I7@4.6 GHZ, and everything overclocked and copper piped open loop water cooled. On top of that i typically Incorporate a ram drive and have a few SSD's dedicated solely to games. So it's not like i'm running with grandpa's OG mac...I can't play for more than 10 minutes without either A) CTD or B) Blackscreen and upon re entering full screen or windowed mode complete audio loss and artifacts and screen tearing the likes of which I have never experienced.  So after 39 hours of this (not even joking, i've brute forced my way through CTD after CTD) It's gotten so insanely frustrating that I can only laugh. In fact last week I made a playlist entitled "Dragon Age Inquistion" with 3 songs, Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, Mad World by Gary Jules, Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel, and just roll it before I fire up the game. It almost religiously crashes at the 3rd track and I laugh and die a little inside.

I replayed origins and DA2 before the release of inquistion just to prepare myself (logged 200+ hours). I threw my instincts and morals to the wind and decided to pre-order (I think it's destroying the gaming industry) and this is what we get in return? A heap of buggy garbage which by the time it's properly patched will be sitting in the origin bargain bin for $30 and picked up by people who didn't care enough about the game or the developers enough to support them at the $60 sticker price at launch.

What hurts the most is knowing this game will never be the experience it should have been. Despite some inherent flaws in gameplay mechanics, tactical camera, auto-attack, etc, the lore of Dragon Age and the emotions that these characters and universe have made me feel have kept me coming back hoping for that same experience...why rush out a game knowing it has issues and punish the day 1 fans who are most loyal to your cause? Instead of remembering this as an emotion packed epic journey through Thedas I'll remember it for the hair-pulling bugs and resentment. I'll never get to look back with fondness and recall this or that like I did with Origins...

It's time to make things right Bioware...

There's also solid evidence that says: the richer you are the more resources you use. More energy, more trash, more medical, more food, etc, etc. Now some of these you pay for and some your "community" pays for.

So you should pay more taxes the more money you have. Also, if you take the actual taxes paid by someone worth a billion, and compare it to someone making 40k a year, the 40K a year pays a higher percentage of their wealth. Sure paying 5 million in taxes sounds like a lot. Until you realize the guy is making 200 mill a year.

The Witcher 3 release will be buggy as previous games of TW setting. However, CDPR known as its quick reactions. I pre-ordered it knowing that fact. So maybe I install it on the release but won't play around a week. I just hope we won't see another mess on a widely expected RPG.

Have you seen the Witcher 3 game specs? They are damn high.. I think my GPU card won't pass the bare minimum....

For those who wanna reinstall the game but don´t wanna be downloading the entire game again, here some steps made by a folk inthis thread:

 http://answers.ea.co...ll/td-p/4257554

1. Quit out of Origin.

2. Browse to your Origin Games directory (mine was C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games), and make a copy of the Dragon Age: Inquisition directory.

3. Start Origin and tell it to uninstall Dragon Age: Inquisition. (The original Dragon Age: Inquisition directory in your Origin Games directory should disappear, but you should still have your copy.)

4. Tell Origin to download and install Dragon Age: Inquisition.

5. Once the download begins, quit out of Origin.

6. Copy the contents of the copy you made of the original Dragon Age: Inquisition directory into the newly-created one in the Origin Games directory.

7. Start Origin again.

I´m gonna try this, delete the patch folder, and when Origin asks for an update i´ll go offlane, so i don´t get the patches. This could rollback changes, but not sure tbh. Is just theory for now, since i actually don´t know where is the real patch stuff.

Btw, Origin is down atm. Not sure what´s happening, so don´t try it yet.

The Witcher 3's specs are the only thing giving me hope amidst this shitty mess- I shelled out $1400 to have a new rig built specifically to (not) play DA:I. Thankfully TW3 will mean the outlay will not be wasted. Have you checked your specs at Can You Run It?

I think you'll be okay.  They are using the Red Engine 3 which is the upgrade to the Red Engine used for Witcher 2 with  Umbra. http://www.umbrasoft...ize-its-vision/

Impressive piece of middleware.  The game should scale very well with this in place.

The Witcher 1 is a very long experience todays youth may not appreciate.. Witcher 2 is a very differnt game type from 1.. I enjoyed Both, but only played 1 once.. 2 ive enjoyed many times over, and even purchased it twice.. Console, and PC.. Ive only purchased a game twice, 3 times in my life.. TW2, DA:O, and Skyrim..

While CDProjektRed is one of the best companies in the industry, i simply cannot/will not pre-order ANYTHING in the gaming industry... Its a trend i would like to see stopped, as it encourages laziness! Set by the companies you least trust anyway, along with the online passes, and dlc thats now the norm today.. (ofcourse online passes stopped when they thought xb1 was gonna have certain restricitons). But EA>Ubisoft are to blame for these shitty practices.. Giving a company your money before knowign the product only tells them youre gullible, and willing to bu anything they throw at you.. Ill by TW3 on release day, but no company deserves that kind of trust/commitment/investment!

Id like to make clear, CDProjektRed is the company i tout as the gaming industry's best.. They deserve all acolades and fan support... I just do not endorse the "pre-order" model..

Witcher 2 even has street walkers! and if your nice to them.....

Anyway, my 2015 game wish list so far.

*Elite: Dangerous ------------------- Space exploration.. usual 4x game

*Star Citizen -------------------------- Improved Wing Commander

*Heart of Iron IV --------------------- Grand WW2 stragey game

Witcher 3 ----------------------------- (my hardware may not support it)

*Plllars of Eternity ------------------ RPG

0 A.D. ---------------------------------- RTS game

Baldurs Gate 3 --------------------- RPG

Battlefleet GOTHIC Armada ---- RTS space naval battles using Ureal engine

PS: * = Intention of buying.

I just reinstalled DA:O and bought DA 2 for really cheap.  I figure by the time I play through DA:O and it's DLC for the 4th time, play through DA 2 for the first time, Bioware will have gotten around to adding pc controls and fixing the directx crash. If not, I'll simply deinstall DA:I and forget about it.

LOL.... good one...

Hey, I have Nvidia and I was crashing all the time as well with a nVIDIA gEForce GTX 780 and a 4.7 Ghz 9590 amd processor.. I downloaded this http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/"which removes all traces of nvidia software from registry as well" rebooted then downloaded the lastest nvidia drivers and it is running alot better.. you might try it..  Good luck.

It's always a good idea to run DDU before installing a new driver. With that said, Bioware needs to better optimize the game's engine for Nvidia hardware and Nvidia needs to address performance issues with their drivers for this game. Even in the driver release notes for 347.25 state that the stutter performance issues aren't addressed for the game. They acknowledge the problem exists but have not done anything that we presently know of to remedy the issue.
