@Bioware

A good will gesture

Put out a Tactical guide for us poor folks who can't quite grasp how to use the simple one, using action style RPG gameplay. I would like to know the devs thoughts on this part of the game "mechanics".

Thanks.

An even better good will gesture- Admit you can't (or won't) fix the game for PC and offer those of us who would rather be dunked in a vat of boiling oil than bother playing this shoddy game a choice to return it to you for refund via Origin no matter how, when or where we purchased it.

Put the difficulty on very easy, hold the left mouse button.

LOL!!!

Oh,  that's tooooo  easy!... I want an explanation from the horses' mouth.. you know, " made for PC G...... by PC G....".

Before the patch 4 ... Bioware should fix the 21:9 resolution bugs ...

We cant see all the behavior set list, for example ...

Think CONSOLE.... it explains everything

So... there's a lot of talk about how horrible this game is, or at least key aspects of it.

Is there anything redeemable about this game? I personally enjoyed much of it, while acknowledging the many flaws it has. Then again I chose not to follow much of the info about this game that came out before the game was finished, and I wasn't even going to get this game.

Then I heard great reviews about it, and I decided to give it a try after seeing Amazon selling it at $45. And I enjoyed it. The PC controls are... definitely not PC friendly, so I used a controller. And honestly it is the first DA game where I decided not to use a companion because... she's a b*tch. But I enjoyed the story, I liked being a Qunari mage, I had fun with the combat to some extent, I reveled in the many hours in crafting equipment, and I relished listening to my companions (most of them).

Then again, I haven't played it since I heard that patch 3 made crafted shields that were created before the patch less than useless, and that hasn't given me incentive to go back.

I just shrug, and wonder if I will ever go back to this game. The more I think about the PC issues, the less inclined I feel to continue playing. And I only have the last boss to fight.

I'm just rambling like an old man.

It is your opinion that matters in the end when it comes to your own personal experience, don't worry about others. If you are happy playing the game using a controller, continue to do so.

I'm enjoying the game as well despite it's flaws. I've encountered a ton of bugs, none game-breaking. That said it is not without frustrations that make me put it down for a day or two. They always stem back to things that are not considered bugs but major flaws in design. I check daily to see if a patch is up in "hopes" to see things like, "storage chest added to skyhold", " added extra skill bar", "customizable tactics menu similar to previous games" "new game+ D: " (Nightmare is pretty easy actually)

Yeah it's a long shot. No dev "What would you like to see to improve upon yadda yadda" Because all of those things ^^^^^ would actually improve the game significantly IMO.

About dev communication. There comes a time when a company grows to big for it's breeches and following that a huge gulf emerges between the company and its customers. Think google. I actually think google is not comprised of people anymore and is some weird sentient god machine up on a pedestal in some celestial realm where humans can no longer tread. Well it's more enjoyable to think of them that way. They are an ENTITY.

That's how I actually think of EA/Bioware, an entity that spits out games. Why an entity? Well alot of folks talk about god but I've never had the pleasure of a 1 on 1 with him/her/it. Same with EA/Bioware. I could pray to a god/I can make suggestions to bioware, but, My prayer may not come to pass or be heard/ My suggestion may not be even looked at or considered or even responded to.

Hence an entity.

Most responses that do happen are rather like, "Well I cannot do anything personally/tell you what were working on/ I worked on it but no longer do/ Y U so upset."

The rest is,

Heads up, the crickets annoy folks the most. Y'all need to set up a conduit with someone who knows what is going on and the playerbase. Non communication results in an echo chamber of insults. You might say at this, "We get insulted anyway" well that's what a mods job is. Believe me there are smaller forums that are much more vile and rowdy than this, yet it's not such a bad deal because they have active mods.

Don't be an unreachable entity.

Now I'm going to go kill a glitchy dragon.

Some things I hope to see in patch 4:

* Mouse click to move to items (loot)
* Auto-attack :wizard:
* Select all party members (shift + mouse click on portraits)
* Move tactical camera with mouse on screen edge
* Fully customizable quickbar (as in Origins), so I can hide buttons I don't need, such as the Hourglass, Hold, Attack, etc.
* Option to hide the minimap
* Better overview of our inventory

You actually summed up everything Bioware will be avoiding in every future game including this one...........

Honestly i should have waited for a cracked version and played that one and then thrown the game away... and maybe in the far far future bought it for cheap to play multiplayer when it will be in a decent state instead of the horrible joke its in now.  I not used to spending such amount of money for such a mocking product full of lies.
But now i learned my lesson very well so thanks bioware for that importent lesson and for my last purchase of a 60$ game from you ( and honestly from all the other big companies out there as well.. all those lies, so many broken products... this year was so horrible, a sad year for gaming ).

I just had an idea. Wouldn't it be hilarious if someone went to Bioware's stand at PAX cosplaying as an elven male with broken arms? And then he walks towards Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah and gave them a mouse and keyboard while telling them "Here, thanks to you I have no use for these". :P

I live in San Antonio and I would never miss an opportunity to see the developers, but what am I going to say? Trying to publicly ask them questions about stuff they won't even address on their forums is giving into animosity. I don't hate Bioware, but right now I can't think of a positive question regarding Inquisition. I don't want to know when the next DLC comes down because I'm not really interested anymore. If I went in as a fanboy, it would be all about Origins... awkward.

*snip*

Amelia's post is perhaps untrained and uneducated, but it's perhaps as honest and transparent as we can get when it comes to how EA views their fanbase and paying customers. It's a solid nail to the coffin of Bioware after my fond experiences of the time I spent in the old BSN when I was modding DAO (though it's only one nail out of many). After all, it's not really a revelation but a confirmation.

*snip*

Been gone for awhile, what'd I miss?

You see how a game has fallen when instead of gaining a award from the disabled gamer association (DAO), EA is now pursuing and gaining the Gay Association award for most politically correct game.

Honestly i cant play the game with current controls. I tried, ended with pain on arms, and a confuse sensation, because the controls dont make sense.

If you read through this thread, you will see disabled people complaining, old people complaining, a lot of difference players complaining, not about how bad the game is, or how bad the story or other things are, the controls are a major roadblock.

Im a professional programmer. Beside using computers all day, i have minor problems with pain due to should degeneration. The way the controls are, and the impossibility of remapping put additional strain on my shoulders. I dont want to play it to feel pain. DAO was comfortable because i basically used only mouse, and could change hands to use it.

I could cope with bad story, bad mechanics, even absence of tactical mode. The roadblock that dont allow me to play this game is that the controls are absolutely nonsense. If this is to be played as an action game at least make things have sense.

***

Just adding: my prayers to God have answers, and God be praised. Christ saved my life more than once.

EA is no god to me, but i understand your analogy, however i have never find anything from EA. Its necessary some kind of ritual to invoke EA? We need to do some sort of sacrifice to make patches happen?

Understood. I'm a sculptor, stone/wood. My hands wrists and arms are beat to hell from 20 years of it. The controls don't phase me much/at all because I use an Razer orbweaver, previously used a Belkin N52te. I can't use a regular keyboard for gaming at all without massive cramping pain.

It keeps my hand in a comfortable position and I map wasd movement to the thumbstick.

Tried patch 3 (haven't been playing for almost a month) rolled back the AMD drivers to Beta. Overspeced PC -Still crashes even in character creator. SO tired of this. I can actually live with the controls and only being able to play mage or archer. But I don't have the stamina to kill each boss 5 times until the cutscenes don't crash, not to mention all the random ones... Am reinstalling Witcher 2 while I wait for Witcher 3. I might be naive but I still have some faith in that game.

Why does it have to be a positive question?

Positive question: Why are you so awesome, guys?

Negative question: Are you ever gonna fix the game or what? <_<

Neutral question: Any information on hotfixes or current patch 4 status? :)

All three are useless but I don't think the neutral question would make them angry.

BTW I've been to USA twice and visited your city once. I liked the park near the river. :)

I had one Razer Nostromo, i was the predecessor. Its quite confortable, and the thumbpad could actually be useful in this game, but i didnt managed to adapt to it, so i sold and gone back to old keyboard.

When im working, and that involves a lot of keyboard, i stick with a mechanical dell. At home i use a basic low profile razer keyboard. I love low profile keys to play.

Yea i understand.. i would certainly notice and be more irritated because of further issues, but the controls are a big roadblock to me. If i could at least play this game, even being bad, i would have lost maybe 1/3 - 2/3 of my money... but since i couldnt manage to play at all - i cant really adapt to these poor controls - to me the value i lost was 3/3, i cant actually play the game.

This is my day in Dai and as been like this since day 1. What exactly as EAware done about dx errors, Absolutely nothing at all sadly.

4StIOIU.jpg

I heard bad stories about this game and crashes, but i didnt know this was so bad. I couldnt get much crashes also because i cant get past the controls.

As a side note, i was playing BF4 steady for months on AMD card. On January when i switched to a Nvidia card i got 2 crashes. Brand new system, everything clean installed. It looks relatively stable, but, it looks like FB still have problems.

a UI dreamlist? yay!

1. remove quest markers and minimap hints (toggle?)

2. add tooltip/whatever with exact words spoken by PC

3. remove dialogue wheel icons and randomize positioning (toggle?)

4. allow user to define map markers & add text to them

5. abandon quest function. seriously

6. editable journal instead of quest log
