Hm...

What key mapped funtionality are you using, besides WASD? And how does it stack up playing DAI?

I mean, the Belkin and the Orbweaver are designed for competitive play with FPS, RTS games.... something I did not expect from a supposedly Dragon Age RPG Bio game.

They have analogic pads, which may actually suit very well into a semi controller setting, which is what this game was made for.

well, after the whole thing with Zoe Quinn-woperson (borrowed that from 'gender neutral something' thread, and i love the word, EDIT: thx Wayward Shadow!) i kind of have a pretty good picture what some of BW devs think of people who love computer games (not video games, go figure). and i don't care!

banning people for raging is silly, just as openly pinning one patch to the whole community for 'da keep' leak. posts were deleted, ahh... good times. i'm a huge opponent of political correctness, so don't mistake my post for criticism :3

k thx bye

Wished to list a Bug encountered since the latest patch: subtitles are not appearing for some dialogues, esp those that occur during cut-scenes. While most conversations can still be understood, those involving female Hawke were quite lower in clarity and more difficult to understand. Having the sub-titles in games, films, and TV are an aid I have come to appreciate.

Lol

If they can't even correctly write a Tweet, what can we expect of their game code?

Tips on chasing down the golden bugs right now at the #BioWareBase multiplayer panel #paxsouth2015

  1. @bioware bugs or nugs? Cuz I was not aware of golden spiders or bees.

  2. @bioware How much loot do the bugs drop?

Multiple people. Just got unbanned after 3 days because they didn't like my criticism regarding patch 3, or their imbecilic reaver change. Wasn't just me though, a lot of people did.

Well, huh.  I only started posting on this forum to voice my opinions about the FUBAR that is if DA:I controls. I did finish a playthrough, and would love to others with different choices, but I cannot take the controls any more. I could play it on console (I actually got some cheevos from the EA early access thing on Xbone), but I don't want to play it with controller. In my head DA:I should equal RPG and identically equal keyboard and mouse.

Looks like they wont ban you if you just keep on this thread. I said a lot of things and nothing happened. It seen they are using this as a containment thread.

Not so contained, now that other gaming sites are finally picking up on it.

You see how a game has fallen when instead of gaining a award from the disabled gamer association (DAO), EA is now pursuing and gaining the Gay Association award for most politically correct game.

Honestly i cant play the game with current controls. I tried, ended with pain on arms, and a confuse sensation, because the controls dont make sense.

If you read through this thread, you will see disabled people complaining, old people complaining, a lot of difference players complaining, not about how bad the game is, or how bad the story or other things are, the controls are a major roadblock.

Im a professional programmer. Beside using computers all day, i have minor problems with pain due to should degeneration. The way the controls are, and the impossibility of remapping put additional strain on my shoulders. I dont want to play it to feel pain. DAO was comfortable because i basically used only mouse, and could change hands to use it.

I could cope with bad story, bad mechanics, even absence of tactical mode. The roadblock that dont allow me to play this game is that the controls are absolutely nonsense. If this is to be played as an action game at least make things have sense.

***

Just adding: my prayers to God have answers, and God be praised. Christ saved my life more than once.

EA is no god to me, but i understand your analogy, however i have never find anything from EA. Its necessary some kind of ritual to invoke EA? We need to do some sort of sacrifice to make patches happen?

Another post that I just want to say thank you for.  I myself have no physical disability, but I play TOR (really) with some people that are disabled, who ROCK at pvp, and would like Bioware to be a bit more mindful or "INCLUSIVE" to those people.

Thats a word that Bioware really really loves these days, so maybe they will hear it.

With all these longposts that people are making about bugs, story, control schmes, and others I want to print all of them up and nail them to the doors of Bioware in Canada.

Please listen to us Bioware.  The PC gaming crowd doesn't just hate your game because its fun, or we are bad people; we are saying your game and company have serious problems in desperate need of reform!  Don't you want our money?

PC gamer, here.  Just finishing up my second playthrough.  Moral of story?  After starting out with K/M controls and not digging them, I just plugged in an old 360 controller and enjoyed the game.  Too much else going on in life to waste time worrying about the K/M UI.

My 2 cents, anyway.

Like making a 3rd playthrough of DA:I?  hmmmm

Too many good things to spend money on in life other than a  console controller for my PC.

I'm a disabled gamer. I've played about 29 hours (mostly sp). It's painful (literally) and exhausting to play. 1-2 hours a day once or twice a week with 10-15 minutes to rest now and then. I understand as my condition deteriorates I've lost the ability to play fighting games, most 3rd person and fps. It's sad to lose your mobility and having to go from active to mostly passive player. I use as much software and technical help as I can but it's infuriating when a game could be made inclusive and they don't. I don't think they didn't care, they probably didn't think about it. Now once you tell them about it and how it could be better it's in their hands to fix it. I always approve of Bioware caring for the LGBT collective but seeing them not caring the same way for disabled people is very unfair. I hope they understand how bad this is for us not only as gamers but as people. And on a sidenote it's a very bad PR move.

F1-F4, Shift on the 1-5 keys
Tab, Space, V, F, 9 on the 6-10 keys
1-4, 0 on the 11-15 keys
5-8, - on the 16-20 keys

On the side ( thumb area ) I have esc, wasd , and T

I have wasd mapped for movement and the tactical cursor so both are controlled with the stick.

Possibly going to replace shift with a keymap switch to add more keys. (Walk toggle, hold command etc.)

Also mind the thumbpad/stick is NOT analog. Some folks seem to think it is.

I am also disabled, and by re-mapping the control keys before gameplay, the KB&M experience has much the same controls and feel as those for SWTOR. I point this out as that game received an award from the community of the disabled for its interface and controls.

While the current set-up may not be as easy as Point & Click, holding the Mouse and utilizing WASD controls to steer is not difficult, and is more manageable than the ME series, Skyrim, and even SWTOR as DAI also has Pause and Tac-Cam features for the occasional break.

MULTIPLAYER?! Are you friggin kidding me?

I think it's pretty clear at this point that DAI exists for Multiplayer. Specifically multiplayer played with a controller. I suspect all the control issues in combat are due to them only testing it with multiplayer.

I completely understand your frustration on the controls, my friend. Believe me, myself included, many people voiced their concern about mapping the extra mouse buttons and some other solutions to ease the controller issue for our disabled friends but we have seen no moves from BW so far. We will continue reminding them that the issue is important as it's no different from a CTD issue, blocking progress for you.

I said for years that this is the game that would make/break Bozoware.  They had the opportunity to do right by PC players, and well?  They failed.  Crash and Burn,  Smashed on the rocks.  Makes the Hindenburg look like a Sunday School Kindergarten party.  I guess the only remaining question is: How much green grease did GOTY cost you?

There was a time when a BioWare was a no brainer buy.  The quality was that good.  It is a shame that they have now be relegated to the Bargain Bin crowd, and only if that game is$12.99 and under.  BioWare no longer exists, and has been replaced by BozoWare.  Yet another in the long line of wonderful studios that Electronic Farts has killed.

A Mega Triple A designer, I ain't gonna buy it.  Thank God for Indies.

BioWare RIP 1995-2009.

Beloved Game Maker and Fun Time wasters.

I'm a quicksave addict. I tried playing with a xbox controller, but I have to press five buttons? just to save. I also open the map every 2 seconds...

Is there a way to use the controller AND the keyboard?

Of course not, why would anyone on PC want to use their keyboard to game? Especially after you plug in a gamepad? Honestly, some people....

Jokes aside, no, you can't. In fact, the friend of my son's who I mentioned a loooooong way up the thread (who played on PC using her controller) has noted, loudly, on several occasions (cough) that she had to uninstall the game completely and reinstall in order to get the keyboard to work at all with the game again.

I refrained from saying that it was her own fault for giving in to the collective. So proud of myself.  ;)

Others on the thread have also noted some difficulty re-initialising the KB&M even after unplugging the controller. In any case, once the gamepad's in there, it takes over, completely. There is no simultaneous KB&M and controller use.
