Maybe Booware is suffering from "paralysis of analysis"....they're working soooooo hard to fix soooo many problems.  Uh huh huh...Sorry, I almost kept a straight face there for a second.  I was afraid too because I'd have less romanceable possibilities however.  Better keep this gay one on.  It's not even mine.  Damned role-playing games.  I can't even make my hair stop shining or my mouth stay closed.  I blame Iron Bull's broadsword....or maybe Canada...

 Patch 3 is out for PC. We finally got the walk toggle lol.

@Rencor - Where is the link to the fixes?  I don't want to start the game and apply patches UNTIL I know what has been purported to be fixed.  I'm silly like that.

Nevermind.  I found it....it's labeled as something vague.  It was just under the renamed Inquisition Master patches and F-ups thread....or some such thing.  I came here looking for something noticeable. What a cluster F-up of a company/parent company.  They really don't know how to properly do things.  Bioware USED TO know... not now.

It seems that i've finally reached stage 5 myself. I've waited as much as i was capable of, but now it's over. Tomorrow, i'll switch to easy difficulty, go straight to the end of the game and be done with it.

 

I didn't post much on the forums but i've followed them every day since the launch of DAI, including this thread. (internet at work is the best.) As i will start to play other games, i probably won't come back here anytime soon, but before to leave i'd like to say a few things. (in my bad english.)

 

While i've played almost every Bioware game since Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment, I've never been involved in videogames forums until a few years ago and even then i never came on the BSN. I must admit that the bad reputation of this place was one of my reasons. Then i began to play DAI on PC, a game i was really waiting for because i loved DAO so much and because i really liked DA2 despite its flaws. After a few hours, while there was numerous enjoyable things in the game, i felt that DAI wasn't what i was expecting, especially regarding the marketing around the PC version. So i decided to give a shot at the BSN, to see what people had to say about the game... And i was pretty surprised !

 

I had heard many times that the BSN was a very toxic place, full of hate, invaded by trolls, but what i discovered was very different. Were there trolls and short-sighted people ? Yes, sure, but no more than on any other gaming forum i've seen before. What i've really seen here is that many members of this community want to be helpful with each other and want to give constructive feedback. Are they sometimes sarcastic or even rude with other members or with the devs ? yes. But is it out of hate ? Hell no ! It's out of love !!! Because they care ! If you don't give a damn about something, you don't bother to participate and you certainly don't let your feelings get the better of you. People are so passionnate because they used to really love Bioware's games.

 

That's the reason why the actual situation is sad and sounds like a terrible waste. I think it's not so much about the game's flaws. It's about the deception and the feeling of abandonment. When you love a man/woman and suddenly discover that he/she's cheating on you, this love can quickly turn into bitter and hate. (hyperbole intended) This is exactly what happens here, imo.

 

And you know what's great ? It's that despite all this, it's not beyond repair yet. If you read between the lines, there is still hope, because deep down i'm sure most of the people here WANT to be able to love Bioware and their games again (me included), even amongst the ones who claim they're done with "Booware" or who swear they will never ever buy any of their games again. In fact, i'm also pretty sure that if there was a big, RADICAL change in the way Bioware handles this community, many members including most of the more valuable ones would be glad to start fresh.

 

Maybe i'm wrong, but i think it's worth a shot from Bioware... Or am I too optimistic ?

Couldn´t agree more. Bioware should be grateful with the fan base they have. Just check into some other gamer forum, like, idk, i used to play Dota: Jesus, Amelia´d lose her mind reading those forums. Even i quitd that ****.

With Bioware is that love for what they do that keeps this forums civilized. Now is like a tense rope, but i hope, like you, that at some point we´ll let that rope loose and have a new smooth relationship. Either that or keep forcing it till it breaks.

I've read the "fixed" issues in regards to this latest patch.  It seems terribly inadequate.  I'm not even going to bother (firing up the game again).  What a waste of time.  Trivialities they "fixed"...if I'm reading this list right.  No click to loot?  No autofire (after you've selected a target)?  Can the camera pan out to see the entire party?  I had.have issues and I don't see these on this list.  PLEASE somebody, tell me that I'm wrong.

Yeah, the autofire bug-glitch-whatever is anoying, since the game combat system seems to be done for abusing that. There´s even an option related to that, right? Keep attacking the selected target or somethinng like it? So is out of reason why this is still out of debate/fix. 

 

Oh, please someone tell me if you have this issue: After patch 3, the dragon in the Hinterlands is imposible to kill. Why? After right-clicking her sometimes, she flies and gets stucked on a cliff. To never come back. You can´t hit her, even with ranged heroes. Wtf. And the anoying part is that she keeps vomiting out of nowhere her little dragons, like, a lot.

I can't help you specifically, Sutree.  I refuse to launch this game again until I have some basic requirements met by Boooware/EA.  They can decide to fix the game or not.  I can't get past any point until they do.  We're at an impasse, as it were.  I've wasted too much time trying to meet THEIR demands.  Now it's on their time.

Don't use the beta driver like the forum pages are telling you.  Use the AMD official Omega 14.12 drivers.

@moonblade_820 -  I hear you. I haven't even made it that far (before I gave up).  This game has removed any sort of challenge that used to exist and in order to make the game more difficult, Boooware has decided that you need to relearn the controls.  Fighting the game's controls is not more enjoyable than fighting the in game enemies.  I wonder if Boooware realizes this?  Seems like you've decided to opt for a controller.  Good on you I guess

Which breaks, if you applied the community fix for the ridiculous 30 FPS cutscene cap.  So you can either have a walk toggle, or 60 FPS cutscenes.  Not both.

 

I'll wait until I see something about patch 4.... sigh

 

Til then, I highly recommend this thread.  Make sure you have some time set aside.  And possibly an oxygen mask.

^ the beta driver is old.... as old as the communication we get on issues .

 

The Omega driver is newer than the beta they still have up, and has what they were testing in that November beta.

I'm not upset about whatever social agenda (www.breitbart.com/london/2014/12/15/review-dragon-age-inquisition/) is being forced upon gamers here....it's so sad how badly it was done.  Bioware decided to ruin gameplay and immersion in order to bring you THAT.  They could've concentrated on a better game, but alas, we have this train wreck.

I don't understand why anybody really gives 20 hoots about the political/social agenda of whatever. That falls on the writing department, not the programming. They don't do the same jobs (usually) and if that's what the writing department went for then, well, good for them. I'm more than willing to criticize the writing department for bad writing, but the social justice aspect is fairly insignificant to the story that I don't honestly pay much attention to it. Why should I? I'm not looking at Dragon Age to learn how gay people are oppressed and blah blah blah social justice blah blah blah.

 

Seriously, it's a crying shame that Dragon Age doesn't offer a whole lot of support to the disabled community. But your logic is to complain about how a department who doesn't handle gameplay support handles Social Justice?

I'm relaxed, and so accepting of what is to become.  Why do I give 20 hoots?  Why did I give 70 dollars?  Are they equal?  I'm noticing incongruities in a game that hasn't lived up to what MILLIONS have thought it would be....?  If I complain about specific issues, then I need to relax.  Maybe.  Maybe the relaxed need to be more angry.
