This Thread has gotten to large, can we have a thread just for patch notes from the Devs please. I don't use Twitter or any of that stuff.

Not entirely sure if you're serious but there is one. The OP edits aren't timestamped. And from what I'm aware, as of right now, there aren't any notes on the very latest patch.

As an aside it's very confusing for me to come in here and know what's going on from that thread alone. I usually have to read up what others reposted from twitter.

Day 477

We're rudderless. Yet it doesn't matter when the ship is beached on the reefs yes?

It's getting warmer still. Carl used some of his time away from the "lab" to make a calendar... sort of. He took an old calendar and taped strips of paper over the days with the correct numbers. Trevor said it was pointless. Argued that what day it was didn't matter. Everyone sort of indifferently shrugged not caring so much. But not Sara, probably because of the dog incident. Sara said that it might not matter now, but it'll matter later. When things aren't bleak. When we aren't living day to day. She didn't shout. She just explained. Trevor just kind of awkwardly chuckled in rebuttal.

The sprouts for the green beans are coming in! At least I think they were green bean seeds. Honestly, just seeing something grow in that hidden away garden gives me hope. Makes the world outside an iota more tolerable. Prenons du bons temps.

TBH I was being very snarky in asking that patch notes be moved. I never see what is in the recent patches though.  I do NOT read twitter, I think texting at work should be a fireable offense. It wastes productivity. I get so tired of seeing workers reading "TWEETS"  Or walking in the halls reading texts, they never pay attention to where they walk.  As a sidenote I don't see why  the devs are using Twitter to post stuff, they made a forum, make use of it.

I lost audio from this little song in camp after surviving avalanche. Can someone check it out to see if it's caused by this 70MB load of crap?

Edit: noises of storm and subtitles are present, just no song.

I am curious now, out of Laidlaw, Darrah and Cameron, who was involved in DAO or DA2? I heard that Laidlaw was involved with Jade Empire. Any info would be appreciated.

It's me again!

Updated the beta driver  and still getting the Direct X crashes! Apparently I can't download either of the two drivers recommended by Bioware because Mac. The one I am using is still being read as the beta.

This is the most awesome gaming experience I've had since downloading the demo for Temple of Elemental Evil.

AFAIK, most were involved in both DA:O and DA2. I don't know about this Cameron. Who is he?

Darrah was executive producer of DA:O and Dan Tudge was the executive producer for DA:O for the PC, a position which did not exist for DA2.

Brent Knowles, however, was senior lead designer of DA:O, resigned after that game was finished.

Laidlaw was a junior lead designer of DA:O along with James Ohlen.

Gaider was lead writer of DA:O
Ferret Baudoin was lead writer of DA:A

Darrah alone was executive producer for DA2. (Tudge no longer there for the PC)

Laidlaw alone was lead designer for DA2. (Knowles gone and Ohlen too)

Gaider alone was lead writer for DA2.

Doh. Here's your fish hook back in that case. *investigates sore cheek, grimaces in pain*

Because they likely patched something very minor, and know that if they said what it was we'd be livid at how pathetic the update actually was.

Course, short of fixing everything wrong in one shot, they will always be flamed for not doing enough.

Is that fair? Seems not.

Course... they could have just released an actual finished product in the first place...

Patch 3 hotfix for the 0 armor rating on shields crafted prior to patch 3 is all I've noticed.

I think the title of the thread should be renamed from "community concerns" to "Customer Issues."  That might help put things in perspective for them.

We've hit 1,000,000 views. When was the last time the OP even looked at this topic, let alone said anything? Gloves are now off.

It's not the devs that should be here, it is either Mark or Mike. No names but you know who we are talking about.

They never even had the slightest intention of being visible here.

Why are the moderators hiding as well? This does smell so much.

Time to make this public in the broadest sense.

At least there was a demo of KoA: I tried a pc demo, realised quickly it wasn't KB+M friendly.

Tried a console version, and decided to get that. And I'm pretty sure that wasn't marketed as 'for pc gamers'

Sorry, but I had no difficulty with KoA with KB/m. With rebinding it's fairly easy to play.

DAI's controls and UI are a lot worse.

For the sake of clarity and completeness, let me say that I play basically any and all RPGs that are released on PC, plus other so-called 'masterpieces' in other genres (Warhammer Dawn of War, Dishonored, Deux Ex, things like that). Been doing that for 12 years or more now.

DAI is the only game that was not at least ok'ish for me to play with and have fun on PC.

Ever.

Laidlaw and Darrah was involved with DAO and DA2. Cameron (an EA employee) only came on board for DAI. Makes you wonder, huh....

I think that comparing the sales data for PC vs consoles is not really fair at this point. First because not all data is available, and second: the game is not working properly for the PC, so obviously that hurts sales as well. The consoles have their issues too, but what I've heard from friends and read on this forum, people have far less issues when playing on a console.

You're absolutely right. After PAX South though, my friend and I, left with the feeling that EA will not concern themselves with PCs as a major market. Consoles, touchpads and smartphones are the markets they wish to dominate. I don't have sales figures except those already posted. They won GOTY and that's not nearly as important as the sales figures in November and December. They should rename this thread, "Lip service to PC customers." I'm so jaded with Bioware right now.

So basically, they're doing exactly as I thought they were going to do as I understand it from you, Cyan.  They're basically getting ready to end support for DAI for the PC.  Fix a few minor things and that's it.  Damn, my timeline was off.  Less than six months.

PS:  I wonder if I can use my DAI disk as a coffee coaster?  Seems that's the only thing it'll be good for now.

Basically, it's fix the game for playability issues. UI and controls will remain the same. DLC is coming as well, but it might be coming from a third-party vendor or a soon-to-be-restructured studio that EA already owns. DLC is being ported directly from consoles to PC with a six-month delay. There were plenty of other PC game manufacturers there and I'm actually excited about Bethesda (Fallout 4), Undead Labs (State of Decay) and Blizzard (Starcraft 2's last installment).

Good, so I'll never again have to curse myself for purchasing an EA product.  That works for me.

I'm unfortunately feeling the dread on Fallout 4 too.  I just get this feeling that the game is going to be an mmo type game.. I hope I'm wrong.
