Y'know, rethinking this, I'm starting to wonder if EA is to blame, if we must assign blame at all.

We are presented with a company that has been openly labeled "worst company in America" any number of times.  Their product consists of shoddy games over-hyped, overpriced and cretinously mishandled resulting in an infuriationally-inducing @ss-bendingly inferior product that costs a lot and takes years to actually work properly, if it ever does.

Conversely, we have a consumer base that continuously asserts that they know all of the above and yet consistently buy all the shite EA craps out, whatever it craps out and no matter how much it lies whilst crapping.

Some could rightly say that that consumer base gets what it deserves and complaining after the fact - especially when you "knew" - deserves to be ignored and dismissed for the over-entitled nonsense of which it faintly stinks.

So, who's to blame?  If company and consumer is locked in this idiot symbiosis...  who indeed?

End of the day its the consumer who chooses to pay the company, there are no bad companies, just bad consumers who refuse to learn from their choices. And yes i count myself as a bad choice customer :).

The way i think (light spoilers if you didn't beat the game)

EA is Tevinter, it has the power, the money, can support bioware. Bioware are the mages, desperate in a very bad situation, where they need someone to support them or they will most likely fail, you can't really blame them.

But EA IMO is trying to be better, they didn't win worst company the 3rd time, that's a win i guess..

seeing as devs wont reply to us and im sick and tired of complaining. go view my youtube videos, troll, like and subscribe

https://www.youtube....kilguQtw1TfrZeA

More random vids to come to my channel.

unfortunately i live in south africa and internet speeds here are very crap, i get max upload of 56kbs/s and max download of 420kbs/s so all my vids are short and sweet because uploading a huge video will take forever.

**** my life and **** South Africa

I doubt the tavern songs are meant to appease the 1/3 of gamers with serious issues. Dunno why the Tavern songs are free, and sure, nice and whatever, but I doubt the community is going to stop reporting their issues to the company just because they got free songs. I get free songs at Starbucks, but I don't go to Starbucks for free songs.

(...)

What an irony against the background of the pc-kb/m disaster and the mediocre story plot they are giving away the imho best part of the game(the songs)  for free.... if i had known before ..<sigh>

BW/EA, please consider changing your policies in a similar manner to that of CD-Projekt Red.  They have announced 16 pieces of free, small "DLC" after the game is released, and that there will be no multiplayer as the story is focused solely around a single protagonist.  The story of this character is what the game is about.

Its true that the game will not be winning any awards from the LGBT community, and thats just fine, as the game is not meant to be pushing any agenda or making a show of certain people.  They aren't pandering to every possible demographic to line their pockets.  There is a game / a story that they want to tell, and so they will.

I understand that you are in the position where you are controlled by the purse-strings of EA.  But please consider changing your outlook towards gaming.  Make a stand with gamers against cheap policies.  Be Gamer centric. Be game centric.

Yeah its quite obvious EA/BW dont give a **** about the PC market. Were an afterthought - Which is sadly the case the majority of the time.

Im relatively new to PC gaming, and boy I picked a bad time to join the masters ;) . I went out , spent the most ridiculous amount of money on the most insane PC one could buy and build, thinking that i'm gonna have built a RIG that's about 10X more beefy then the ( previously just released at the time of building) PS4 and indeed I do. Well I learned, there is not much point in having a EPIC gaming PC when the Companies that make your favorite game titles cater to the console market and give you a un-optimized broken ass ported version that no Rig can run properly .They slap some Antialiasing graphic option on it and BAM! Call it a PC title. I had no idea this is the kinda shitty practice to expect.

So I thought well, now I'm in a whole new playing field, so Ill try to stick with PC exclusive titles because surely the Devs responsible for those games will make em utilize hardcore hardware.................. wrong once again!

Due to a limited market and even more limited player base considering genre interest, thus leading to an even more limited budget, PC exclusive titles are dropping even more broken and bugged then their console ported competitors. Games like Company of Heroes 2 that don't support SLI (are you ****** kidding me, no SLI profile???)  and dont run above 60fps regardless of how good your GPU is.  Rome 2 that has the worst single player AI and unoptimized engine. Divinity: Original Sin that cant run @ or above 60fps even in SLI during their simple combat scenario's. Wasteland 2 runs great but is filled with so many bugs ya never know when your save file is gonna be corrupted and ruined. Well then ya got the plethora of titles that hide under the "Early Access forever" banner like DayZ SA built on an engine older then the previous generation of consoles. Before, I thought  games unplayable at launch was a myth! Or like Aliens :P Heard about em' , just never seen one for myself :) .

The state of PC gaming has gotta change! We need serious improvement!

I didnt spend thousands of dollars to see **** run below 60fps and be forgotten about or considered an afterthought. Nor did I spend that kinda money to play MMO's or MOBA's, I work too much to afford the hardware to even attempt it lol I bought a ridiculous gaming rig to play the **** outta whatever I wanted, at the very best it could be played at ! Realizing this just isnt possible the majority of the time due to devs not considering us angers many many PC gamers and our anger is justified.

Can we not have a company, that will charge 3X as much for their PC game to inflate their budget, thus putting 3x as much care and polish into the final product? Have it run flawlessly due to proper testing, look beautiful and not have game breaking bugs that take weeks to fix. We PC gamers have the money, we'll spend fortunes on a game that deserves it! Just give us the chance! That is exponentially better then constantly throwing our money at these other companies that just dont give a **** about us time and time again.

Thank God for the modding community     or else this would've been a HUGE waste of money! No one will ever put more love into their work then a massive fan. I sincerely THANK  every MODDER out there. You guys are truly one of the very few things that still make PC gaming great     .

Dragon Age Inquisition is hereby uninstalled from my rig and it will forever remain that way.

EA/Bioware, I'm so disappointed about your damned lies, lack of communication and your complete non existing will to do the right thing towards your customers.

AE/Bioware have no honor left.

I can guarantee you guys that I won't be paying for any other EA game releases in the future!

I have been following this Forum since game release and I sympathise with all you other gamers who are getting shafted by these bunch of lying clowns.

The best to you all!

I'm out of here

In regards to the comment regarding the notion that BW has no intention of continuing the Dragon Age franchise... I've heard directly from Laidlaw and Cameron in a presentation that Dragon Age is intended to continue for a very long time. Unlike Mass Effect, Dragon Age was purposely conceived to be stand alone titles loosely linked rather than as a trilogy. They mentioned the purposeful inclusion of lore and events in a game left unresolved specifically so they could enrich the IP and lay the groundwork for future games.

Of course, to believe that you have to believe that what they say is truthful. There have been recent revelations that cast such a belief into doubt.

Laidlaw can say whatever the hell he wants.  But as this point, for this PC Gamer, the Dragon Age Franchise died directly after Dragon Age 2.  It wasn't perfect.  But it was a f***'ing hell of alot better than this piece of unoptimized **** we got.  As Cyan said, they aren't going to make games fit for PC anymore.  Consoles/mobile, and tablets are their schtick now.  And that's fine.  But I have one thing to say.  F-you, Electronic Arts.

Doubt?

You mean like the darkest, coldest, most forgotten corner of the lowest level of hell kinda' doubt?

 ...

How many here remember when we got the first hint of what would become Dragon Age?

Remember when BioWare first announced they were working on an IP of their own?

Remember how we looked forward to that? ^_^

Now we just hope the next "patch" doesn't break the game any more. <_<

Carry on for a longtime, DAi lasted a month before players woke up to the plot filled holes, lies, and lack of community contact via these official forums. They sold the game purely on PR. I'm sure they have lost many many fans of the series, players won't be so easily lied to next time, and will wait patently and watch youtube, forums for the fallout before deciding to trust these folks again if ever.

It really feels like a lot of these corporations are being run by their marketing departments who know absolutely nothing about gaming reporting to CEOs who have no idea about gaming.

This scenario is just Domestic Violence personified. You stay around because you have affection, but you end up being raped and abused time and time again. Then there is the begging, "It will be fine, I'll change. I will return to Origin, I will bring back the moment when we met" By PC Gamers for PC Gamers!!

We believed the lies, then we are abused again. What makes it worse is that the perpetrator's posed as family.

Keep up the front, enjoy PAX. But know you have been put on a register, you will never be forgotten.

Fixed a bug that caused 0 defense on shields (that they caused with patch 3).

Also supposedly it reduces the chance of keybug happening in multiplayer.

Other than that, I have no idea what else it did.

I installed patch 1.0.0.5
It is called computer software uninstall
Called Amazon got a full refund today
That is my patch, I give up on Bioware garbage console port.
Easy fix, especially when I have a machine that could run this game on Ultra.
Garbage game that will never be fixed and I had enough of the DRM crap
My money back in my pocket and will never buy a Bioware product again
Loved the Mass Effect series, DAO and DA2 was bad but not as bad as DAI
Will not buy ME4
Bye Bye Bioware

I hate to say it because it sounds defeatist and maudlin, but it's looking more and more likely everyday, so let's sum it up -

DA:I was never meant for PC and it was all marketing spin (d'uh) while they try and get the port into some semblance of working order - with the 'community' testing it.  Look at the hoops that have to be jumped through just to get this 'game' to the point the patches can break it!

There is no way in hell this 'game' took four years to build.  No way.  That's the biggest load of nonsense I've heard regarding this thing - up there with the 'PC for PC blah PC' lie.  An actual working patch that actually fixes actual problems is taking so long precisely because this 'game' was slapped together much more quickly that that.  It was rushed to exploit Xmas markets.  Four years should not have resulted in anything remotely resembling this situation as it currently stands. 'Four years' was birthed next to the 'PC blah PC blah PC blah' burble in the marketing cesspool.

If true, however, this 'four-year-development' thing leads to an unpleasant realization - that if it did take four years and this buggy/broken PoS was the result...  that points to some massive indifference and would explain the aggressive silence here and spitting vitriol elsewhere they have for the PC, that ancient and dying tech and it's sad and doddering hangers-on.  It also explains the gutless abandonment of engagement on their own forums. Saying they 'cared' once is irrelevant.  The damage is done, the money is being rolled in and it's quite obvious they don't now.

DA:I is 'Game of the Year'.  It's 'working as intended', so it's not any particular priority and never was.  The PC community can p!ss off and we'll get what we'll get when they feel like it and get around to it, if they ever do.  The game came out in November.  It's almost February.  Four patches that fixed nothing and broke more have been the tally so far.

Do the math.  The smart money says real patches will be incorporated into $15 DLC.

They know it:  there won't be any 'gamer activism'.  There won't be any outraged 'campaigns'.  This time the appropriate venues were bought off ahead of time.  Every complaint will be nullified by simply pointing at a random GOTY award with the arched eyebrow and the twirly finger 'round the ear.

The ME3 debacle taught them a great deal. They know what not to do now when it comes to dealing with 'fans' - simply not dealing with the 'fans'Mass Effect Next will still be bought in big numbers no matter how wrecked and wretched it is, and DLC for DA:I will be too, no one will vote with their cash and the three people who will are inconsequential anyway.

They don't care simply because they don't have to care.  Their system works.  EA jokes about being the worst, because they still make astronomical amounts of cash, so the rep doesn't hurt them and never did or will.  Only bottom lines count, not how you get there.

We've all be had.  This is what that feels like.  We all should probably get used to it because it's not changing anytime soon.

Hypothetical solution to unscrew ourselves:

Legal action around the world coupled with coordinated PR. I can guarantee that listed companies do fear this particular combination of pretties.

Again, not that I'm suggesting anything, if anyone still reads.

This is purely an exercise in legal theory and economics, O Dear Departed Electronics Arts Public Relations Reps, who art now in Fade mode Heaven. :kissing:

No ****...they actually dared.

You have to admire the marketing department of EA, or was it the e-reputation firm they hired one year ago? (Look it up it's easy to find, or check my posts).

So much money poured to corrupt young Americans.
