Thanks for clarifying this. I thought Microsoft was going to pull the Office 365 route with Windows.  whew..   :)

You folks have to admit that this is something Microsoft would attempt..  :>

Peregrinus, you can purchase stand alone versions of office at any time. If you dont use access and outlook and are not a corporate user, office home and student is the cheapest deal. Office 365 subscriptions are a very good model for a lot of business, especially small business, you cant get email accounts with exchange features for low as 10$ per user.

I wrote an auto attack toggle macro with my Razer Naga mouse. The scroll wheel activates/de-activates the attack. That relieved me from pressing R. This approach only works with a macro capable mouse....

I know this is possible, and also the auto camera view with the mod, but its a kind of resort i dont wanna use, because it involves needing to deactivate the macro. From my findings, it wouldnt take a lot of effort to restore both click to move and click to attack, both features are pretty simple and already embedded in game.

The Tac Camera isn't intuitive. I'm pulling my hair out trying to find the right key layout to make it work. Sometimes my controlled character moves to the target and sometimes it's stuck in place. The camera can also get wonky if you press to look on the mouse. A trackball mouse here would be a nightmare. I'm also unsure why spacebar works sometimes in tac cam. I hit spacebar to queue up some commands and then the action starts up again.

I mostly found that i can use, with some shortcommings the tactical mode, the problem really is the wonky camera forcing a too close top view. The zoom is too small, it need to be enlarged. It was probably restricted either due to console limitations or because of nearby clipping. Is there no way a person can find such narrow tac cam useful.

Windows 10 is beginning to sound like the first subscription based OS.  Free for the first year and then what?

As I understand it:

The "free for one year" thing is referring to how long you have to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7/8; after that year-long window, you'll have to pay for the upgrade to Windows 10.

Windows 10 itself will receive free updates for the life of the device it's installed on, though how that will play with hardware upgrades is rather up in the air at the moment.

I bet they are going to also announce that they are dropping support for 7 and 8 only a couple of weeks after 10 is out. Just to get people to take the bait.

No they won't. They're obligated to support Windows 7 until 2020, and Windows 8 until 2023.

Or....

...y'all could learn to paint/draw/sculpt/design, or act, or volunteer at an animal shelter, go outside, learn to skydive/hang-glide/fly a plane, buy a motorcycle/take a long trip to see your home and learn its history, travel somewhere 'foreign', learn to play an instrument and/or write music, write/read a book(s), create a comic/graphic novel, buy a decent camera and make your own movies, make cool jewellery, learn to work with wood/metals/fabrics...

All these are viable alternatives to sinking untold hours into sitting and clicking endlessly.

Mindfully create, instead of mindlessly consume.  That's what they want, your consumption.  Every second we aren't playing is dollars they aren't making. They can't make us play it.  We do that to ourselves.  We don't actually need them.

They need us.

That's how you win their game.

You just don't play it.

You are so right! I do many of those things already but like to game too....but you just reminded me that this sh**ty console port is not gaming and I have other things to do...

I have just uninstalled this rubbish and feel a whole lot better for it!

Patch away Bioware you useless EA drones I care not....you will get none of my money ever again!

Over and out...

Gosh dawg it. I'm playing this on casual, friendly-fire off and let's forget tactics. It's now hack and slash. I CANNOT SUSTAIN A BATTLE IN TACTICAL MODE. It's not intuitive. It's a freaking chore. How is this evolved from Origins and DA2? I cannot play this game with tactics as a rogue or a warrior using a gamepad and mouse. With the XBOX controller, it makes sense. I want to learn this new fangled system Bioware is touting because they obviously don't get how important what a gaming mouse and keyboard is to a PC GAMER.

Go for the eyes, Boo! GO FOR THE EYES!!! RAWRUSK!!!

GOSH DAWG IT. What the hell? How do they expect MP to grow on the PC market with these crummy controls. Oh, right... get a joystick.

GOSH DAWG IT.

Positive note. From the last CTD to the most recent save in Haven, I've had no crashes. Audio glitches are rare, but there. Overall, it's the first time I played for more than an hour and the game didn't CTD.

Negative note. I don't like the 2D outline on the beautiful 3D characters. I wonder if there's an option to get rid of that?

Such moves are only done to secure accessibility for an upcoming transaction or a service expected to face heavy resistance...

I mean; if an offer is too good to be true, well it usually is too good to be true! There is always a catch. Therefore i really would like to know the catch on this one.

I predict something greatly effecting privacy or a business working similar to microtransactions.

I think its done purely for one reason and that is to mend the many bridges they burned with Windows 8 and its Metro Interface, they were expecting a massive takeup of Windows 8 but it backfired many people myself included stuck with 7 and a lot of businesses stuck with Windows XP.Maybe it finally dawned on them that making a OS with a touchscreen interface for a platform that does not use touchscreen monitors was a dumb idea.

A lot of companies including my own just passed windows 8, mainly because metro.

Also the lot of money to be made is not from customer who have boxed versions, the money is coming from companies, which arent included on deal.

That would be fair enough--if one of the problems wasn't that the game doesn't work "as intended" with an entire Vidcard subset. A popular one.

I don't have a nVidia card, so my game runs, even if the Origin app often gives me a CTD (and the game "milestone" saving itself as I go into the War Room makes it CTD--every freaking time. Thank Fluffy it doesn't "milestone" save too often, but I wish I could turn those off). I certainly feel for the poor nVidia users, though.

They do. Millions of WoW subscribers that can be invited to/apply to beta test every game Blizz has. I've beta'd on 4 of their releases (not including WoW EP betas and stress tests) in the last 8 years.

Bethesda does the same thing. "Apply to beta test ESO/Skyrim" etc.

Bioware could do the same thing, just as cheaply. They had us test the Keep for free, they could have done the same with DA:I. The trouble is that EA Games is too paranoid about leaks.

While im inclined to agree with Blizzard (reguardless if they haeve also taken on the ridiculous cater to teh masses by dumbing down everything, concept) Bethesda, i cannot.. Anyone who has played the last 2,3 TEs games, and the last Fallout or two, can see how bads the reeleases were.. Very buggy, some platforms worse  than others, etc..

Bethesda is actually #3 on my Craplist... EA>Activision>Bethesda>Ubisoft>Capcom, etc.. All of which are selling us this watered down versions of what used to be juggernauts in each their owwn respects.. Now they all try to copy one another, and make poor renditions of it all..  (Dragons Dogma was amazing though)

Well, in a fit of 'I shall get my money's worth one way or the other' pigheadedness, I decided that I would d/l DAI Cinematic Tools, a crapload of mods (check out Nexus, those guys have been busy! No more hideous shiny gold shirt for Josy, the cringeworthy facial hair on Dorian is no more, Cole is now an option since I can remove the ludicrous hat, class restrictions lifted from all armours, a nice blue re-texture for the jim jams... like I said busy.)  re-roll an especially hunky character (see avi at left) and play the damned thing as a photoshoot simulator lol!

And you know what, it's actually fun. I'm playing on casual switching up the RP between Fereldan Chronicle war correspondent, a nature photographer (gotta get some value from the vastly empty yet beautiful environment) and playing the game on casual for the hot boy action shots. It's a blast- between the CTDs, I mean.

It could easily be argued that I have finally lost my mind, but hey, the game sucks as an RPG, it even sucks as an Adventure RPG but as a Fantasy Photoshoot Simulator/RPG it is actually kind of cool. Have I just invented a new game genre in my desperation? God I hope not. Give it a shot peeps, come to the darkness with me.

Maybe we can start our own screenshot thread lol! Now if only I could find that CE nude char mod...

I use quite a few of the mods myself on the nexus and there is a rather promising one called  DAI community patch. Keep an eye on that one. They may patch things before Bioware does.

I am. The assets are packed into CAS files, which you have to extract in order to play. The entire game is packed into big sized encrypted archive files.
If you want to read more, just visit bfeditordotorg and scroll through a couple of forum threads there.

Oh. So they had the S2 programmers on Frostbite.

Explains much.

They learned nothing.

I'm certain that they're going to be pushing the Windows Store and Universal Apps quite heavily. Lots of potential money there.

They also greatly simplify their support requirements by having only one version, which is a gain for them in the long run.

Further, I bet the vast majority of consumers never buy or upgrade Windows anyway. They get the version that comes with their computer and leave it at that. This is a non-change for them.

Let's all have some predictions for ME4 - or 'Next' or anything other than ME4 (they get snippy when you call it that) and what it might be.

So, MEFOUR...

My prediction is that it will be almost exactly like the Battlefield series.  Tiny short 'Single Player'-disguised tutorial, with the vast lion's share of the game's resources and all the DLC for the huge multiplayer component.  The multiplayer will probably contain elements of Titanfall (stuff like funky Atlas') and fighters and Makos' for land battles and factions like krogan, humans and new critters.  What 'story' there is will be based on the Destiny model.  You will also have a varren that can attack on command and hanar that move out of your way if you fall into a lake and have to swim for it.

All the money comes from the 'Presidium Marketplace' with upgrades and perks and suits and new panties and tupari lollypops and geth-bikes with baseball cards in their spokes!  And, of course, you can unlock a wisecracking and super-sassy asari chick player in a ceramic-camo bikini with electro-whips and seven-inch heeled rocket shoes if you manage a thousand kills or a 'Shepard'. Simply because EA is 'progressive' to the point of an actual physical illness.

I'm calling it now.  Only $79.99 and a $39.99 Season Pass.  Thanks to the DA:I beta test we're are all currently conducting for them (well, anyone still playing this clunky failure), ME4 should have some of the bugs worked out by then.  if not, then the year after.  Like GTAV it will come out first on the consoles and a year or so later for the PC. Maybe.

By then the DA series will have been put into the trilogy box set for $99.99,  It will not be remastered nor contain any of the DLC.  That will be, like the Sims, housed in separate packs ranging from for $15.99 to $39.99, including 4 new hats and a horse for your Inquisitor for a measly $9.99 - a 'thank you' from EA.

Superior gaming, folks!

Everything here looks good...

Except for the rocket high-heels.  As many on these forums could tell you, "heels" on a womyn is a symbol of the oppression faced and enforced everyday by the patriarchy.  You see, if a womyn is "attractive", she is being objectified and we must be swift to remedy that.  EA is an industry leader in dispelling the notion of gender differences.  I for one, welcome the forced dispelling of my internalized mysogyny, that taints the very core us all...

I look forward to the next Mass Effect Bioware adventure.  All the fun of an mmo, but by yourself!  With wide open worlds to explore; and skins, items, weapons, mounts, anything you can imagine!!...  For 9.99 a piece.

You gave me a dream that was the next game.  Thank you.

Pretty sure it was fixed, at least from the developer perspective.

From the patch notes:

"Changed party banter system to be less random to prevent extra-long periods where no conversations would occur."

Well, it is Bioware. They're definition of 'fixed' might be a bit different than ours. Also their definition of 'broken'.

Also probably their definition of 'PC', now that I think about it.

No point in waiting. This game is made out of cardboard. Just played as a Qunari mage. Part way through. Dialogue is identical up to Skyhold. Couldn't be bothered going any further. Qun vs Andraste doesn't show up, no thought went into this aspect. Seems to be added as an afterthought to keep the fans hoping.

Very shallow game as far as I am concerned. Survive all the crashes and glitches, crap UI and what have you left? Very little. Very disappointed. I have modded it as far as I can. I have CE involved but it is not memorable.
