This game as it is does not feel right on pc. Yes it is beautiful, but why does it feels like you guys are trying so hard to make me go to any console? Your first games, as i recall weren't made for consoles. Are you guys making that much money on consoles, to completely overlook the pc versions?

Laptop Make: Asus

Model N550 (Then some Numbers that don't mean anything)

Processor: Intel Quad-Core i7-4700 @ 2.40 GHz

Ram: 8Gigs

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GT 750M with 2Gigs vRAM

A 1TB 7200RPM HDD

Blu-Ray Disc Drive

1080p Display

Again, I haven't encountered any bugs, I have smooth performance on High @40-50 FPS.

EDIT: OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit

I have almost identical specs (except model) and poor, but playable, performance. I have meshing and textures on "high" (because lower settings = plastic everything... OMG the shiny, and not in a Firefly way!) and everything else on medium or low. Boss fight slows to an FPS crawl, which doesn't help the UI issues at all. And this machine runs above 60fps on most games--including from across the pond on WoW and its US servers on WoD launch night. I did use the fix outlined in another thread that stops the cutscenes from always dropping below 60 FPS (outlined here for anyone who needs it) and that did help -- but that is a game engine problem, not my PC, and only assisted with the cutscenes, not the slowed combat.

If you could fix the direct x crashes on this, that would be fantastic.

I have a question, is the PC release a final release or are we secretly in Beta Testing? Cause that's what this shittt feels like.

Actually, BW should list what they are going to fix first, and ask our opinions about it so that they don't waste time fix unnecessary things while keeping high priority subject untouched. The list doesn't need to be exactly time-bound.

(1) Highest priority: fix important bugs and make the game playable. Oh and those who complain it is unplayable need to update drivers and redo the Keep data again first, and check DirectX11 support as well. I'm using sh!tty laptop with i7-3600M 2.1Ghz CPU and an integrated GPU and playing DA:I on HIGH, and it works fine.

(2) High prioity: PC controls and UI. Basically make everything DA:O like. I seriously mean everything, OK except skill tree design which works fine for me.

(3) Something else that people complain: hairstyles, storages, faster looting animation, better horse speed with less FX for example.

WIn people back, BW. People are paying you now.

Oh and you players should post only constructive comments. DO NOT WHINE PLEASE.

i'm hoping that at some point I can actually play this game as it is too late for me to get a refund from EA. I am rather sad that the type of games I enjoy are turning into console point and click fests. (which can be fun, just not the rpg games I prefer) But as i have the other Dragon Age games I would love to play this one eventually.

Well thanks to EA at least we have a refund option in the origin website so very unhappy PC gamers could just get a refund.

Don't tempt me,  I am disappointed,  firstly because I can't even log in (I suspect Origins, it was buggy during Kingdoms of Amalur ..and it seems STILL IS)  the game to beat in this whole kafuffle,   Bioware/EA   IS  Dragon Age: Origins.  I played the heck out of that game for a whole year,   am missing 9 achievements, and made 23 characters during that time.   Dragon Age II was the start of the Bioware console era,  with controls, and  premade heroes and dialogue wheels..."just like Mass Effect".    I thought you guys had gotten over that,  read the feedback and the disappointment and changed things up ..Dragon Age: Origins was immersive and fun, and PC players could play it.      I don't know where you've gotten lost, but you need to set your sights on being as good as...or better than Dragon Age: Origins.     After reading comments from PC players that can actually enter Inquisition,    it seems you have fallen back on console only.     PC players seem to be second class, the play testing for this game should have had more effort put into BOTH platforms.     I am not usually one to ask for a refund,  but I am fully expecting a patch bringing this game up to snuff for the PC players here,  or that's where I'll be headed.   Extremely disappointed,   Bioware is my favorite game company.

Metacritic user score (The one me and most people I know prefer to look at) is down to 5.6/10 almost entirely because of the technical problems.

Great post.

Seriously, Bioware needs to really step up here and make the post-release process for a huge game like this actually successful.  Too many times we are forced to wait 3-6 months or longer for patches to finally address things that were ***ed up day 1.  And it's not like they are lacking in resources to handle the vast majority of issues that multiple system configurations present.  It's EA ffs.

Seriously, I have few issues, but they are making me rethink my purchase and possibly get a refund.

it's all based on the absolutely dreadful integration of the Mouse control, camera,  and UI.  for a multi-monitored system, my peeve  with needing to use rmb for looking around/spinning that awful camera (isn't there an XML file we can alter to give us the fov we need/want, without borking anything else?) where the da:i window cursor and the pc actual mouse cursor do not coincide, which always forces the full-screen to become windowed with a messed up view, and with combat running, well.. can easily lead to death, or at the very least excessive need for potions.. it's extremely frustrating. and happens OFTEN. a potentially easy fix for full-screen is an actual mouse pointer lock, so it knows it cannot go off of that screen (unless alt-tabbed)   Maybe there is a setting I missed? that would make me happy. it's such a wondrous world, with such people in it!

I am inclined to wait a month and see how post launch updates change the controls and UI. Driver support and frame rate fixes are expected, but the controls and UI are Bioware responding to player critique remarkably quickly. This is progress over the last few games where the PC community has howled and raged. We should continue to make our concerns apparent, if only to keep these issues on Bioware's radar. I hope everything is resolved quickly.

Can I also add that this PC-UI and choppy unfriendliness is the ultimate in WTF? when you consider that AMD/Radeon currently have an Inquisition/PC vid card AMD-only DLC-for-you promotion on right now?

That's the exact error I used to get on BF4, same exact card as well.

Solved it by lowering my gpu overclock back to default.  If you don't have an overclock, I don't know what it could be.

I really want to get a refund, after this nights dissappointment of not even being able to see the main menu.
But this information gives me hope that you'll be able to fix the game, so that we can actually start playing it.

I might still get a refund and buy this cheaper from some store when all the major bugs are fixed. Especially with the 2,3 and 4 core processors.
The ridiculous things I have read, that the game isn't working even on computers easily over the minium requirements.
And I will not buy a new 200€ 4 or 6 core processor when my 3 core one has all the potential to run the game.

Hope that I can get the damn game working, before the refund time goes up on origin.

I also hope we soon hear better news about this mess.

Those deals (and it's all about the $$) are always done months in advance based on the GPU sales initiatives.  It's all about the advertising, and both AMD and EA don't give a **** if the customers aren't happy after they've paid their money.

Please also consider low FPS throughout the game and not only cinematic specific.

Two threads concerning low FPS:

Indeed. But advertising is pointless if your actual production ends up damaging both brands. I thought EA had learned from their SimCity debacle, at least. It's sad to see Bioware following them into the abyss of customer dissatisfaction and "we don't care about you any more"isms. I don't think they're there, yet. But I am a bit of a Bioware fangurl, so I may be just living in hope. :)

It wouldn't damage either of them if they both made a profit.

All the message board posts in the world aren't taking that coin away.

Now, the lead programmer coming on here and promising to fix stuff, that adds in some layers of culpability.  But let's see what is actually accomplished first.

I think Bioware started taking a more customer-focused, structured and effective approach to resolving bugs after several major issues with DA Awakening (see below link).

http://forum.bioware...-report-issues/

I believe Bioware will provide fixes for most issues, but the question is when.  Hopefully Bioware's initial corrective actions will be quick enough to "stop the bleeding" from customer complaints.

Fortunately for me, I have not experienced the major bugs reported, but I am unhappy with tactical combat implementation on PC.

My coworker was not so lucky as his game crashes at cut scenes, although he has enjoyed DAI despite the crashes.  His crashing issues are somewhat ironic given that he built a PC that met recommended requirements, while his daughter and I have old PCs and have not experienced his crashing issues.

Click and snore.  Click and snore.  Don't have to aim, just click and snore.  I mean, you don't even have to be fully awake to click.

I broke my V key on my keyboard pushing it to find loot and now my left MB isn't coming back up.

Need a new mouse and a new keyboard for my computer in order to continue playing, to much button mashing.

But thanks for the update that you all are actually looking into this.
