Yep, Kingdom Come has a consolized UI.

 

I had checked out the Kickstarter but instantly lost interest in the game when I read this: We’re mixing the freedom and mechanics of Skyrim [...]

 

They are Skyrim fans, so it really isn't surprising that the game has a consolized UI.

Just to assure you, Dan Vávra, co-founder of Warhorse studio hates skyrim with every inch http://games.tiscali...-v-skyrim-57711 (good read if you can translate it). And i am sure his fans would tear him to bits if he alow to make Kingdom Come to be a console garbage port as skyrim.

Well I really appreciate your help but unfortunately those settings didn't help either. I lasted 3 minutes lol. I guess there is nothing left for me to do but wait for an official fix... if they can fix it. Thanks anyway ^^

My bad, that was due to a mistake on my end. Either way, tried your settings and I honest to the Maker don't know why but I've been playing for 30 or so minutes now. I did manage to leave the Hinterlands so that might have something to do with it. Either way, it's working for now... dunno how long it'll last but I'll enjoy it while it lasts

I feel like such a fool for buying this game. Literally every bug has hit me:
-Race/gender swap
-Keep messed up the same as regular imports did in previous games (keep is just a weak anti-piracy measure)
-Knight-enchanter spirit blade bug
-Qunari armor bug (armor doesn't show up on PC and Iron Bull)
-Barely got DLC and pre-order stuff to show up (one dagger, no helmet, really?)
-Couldn't download soundtrack

All performance and control issues aside these bugs have rendered the game unplayable to me as they greatly ruin the expirience for me. I'm literally getting laughed at for buying the game. Even built a brand new PC just for the game and everything is set up perfectly.

So now I'm sitting here with my overpriced CE guide staring at an "game" I waited for years to be actually made playable.

Last time I've ever given a dime for a video game.

Same. Put in the nVidia 970 and a SSD ... all for naught.

I have about 20+ hours in the game and controls in this game is not done right! It is a dreadful pain to even play, seriously! Not to even try to play on nightmare dificulty! Game looks good, but the gameplay sucks. Thx to awfull controls.

 

Controls and UI realy sink this game down and i sincerely hope that Bioware will improve it. Tactic screen right now is just useless and inventory UI is just so confused! Skill bar cant be even worse (other than not to be there at all, lol)

GeForce Hotfix driver 344.80

This is a beta driver that addresses the following issues:

 

• GeForce GTX 980 displays texture shimmering when Texture Filtering Quality set to High Quality.
• GPU outputs fuzzy lines over DisplayPort after a period of time following driver updates.
• System hang up and black screen after power on with some monitors (DP1.2 & 4K/60Hz) + GTX980

I found this when trying to help Endee and would have mentioned it then, but because of the very specific nature I didn't.

so i was checking allan schumacher's twitter (Bioware's QA Analyst on Dragon Age) and he's doing a lets play of inquistion either on the Xbone or a PC /w a gamepad

can't really tell but he's defintely useing a controller

 

so the guy who does QA for dragon age is also using a gamepad to play the game, so they obvious knew before the game launched that the KB+M setup sucked and still tried play it of as every thing was ok on pc

This is nothing like Dragon Age, and seems very tedious. Food going bad in your inventory for too long? Please.

Let's just get some of the fixes we need for DA:I and stay away from "realistic" Fantasy RPGs

It's a role-playing game. That's is all. I suspect it will be as big as Origins. No Darkspawn, of course; but raising a mixed Elf/Mage/Templar/Dwarven peasant/noble army across Europe to defeat Loghain the brother of the King should be interesting and epic.

 

You know, if Bioware had created another story using the DA:O engine and UI, I would have bought it in a snap. Do you suppose that would have been cost effective for the Bioware Division of EA: to publish a new story on a mechanic already working in place? Might have been a better shot than that rushed DA2 disaster. But would I have been the only one one to purchase a DA:O2?  I sometimes wonder....

The only reason PC generates more game revenue than consoles is because of P2W F2P MMOs, sh*tty flash browser games, and MOBAs. Consoles absolutely dominate everywhere else money-wise. Sad and unfortunate, but true. There are always more peasants than lords.

Wrong. The reason why MMO's generate more sales than normal games in PC is - cause PC users can try the game to see if it's good or half-baked like this one  and then decide to buy it or not. So naturally with how game developers are publishing unfinished products - we don't waste money on them and we spend them on MMO's instead. Trust me if a developer makes polished PC game - he will get his hundreds of millions, ask Valve. The problem here is that PC gamers can guard themselves against unfinished products this way, while console users can't - they can't try the game beforehand so they buy it. Which let's companies as a whole go in console gaming - they are not punished for not doing their job. In a way consoles are dragging gaming down with this... Also for your information PC game industry makes more profit than ALL CONSOLES COMBINED + mobile phone games. It just is easier developing for consoles, and you get sales no matter what you throw on the market.

Imagine, if you will, console players managing resources like food in-game..... like AD&D 1e... 

I wish Kingdom Come: Deliverance would make it to all consoles. That would be one negative group reaction I would actually like to see!

 

But not to worry. Console manufacturers do not want this game it appears. With $2.1 Million raised, this game is almost halfway to AA status - which someone at CDR Projekt tells me is a sales bar set at $5 million

I do not have a profile on Youtube but would one or half-a-dozen or more of you who do have a Youtube profile ask him, on my behalf, why he is using a controller on his Let's Plays? Maybe you can engage him there?  

 

You might have to ask him multiple times to get an answer, so be prepared to be polite.  I think it is a ticklish area.

 

Let me know what he says... you, know, in the couple of days patience and reminders it takes to get a reply.

Ah, it would seem installing the new beta driver and disabling MSAA only worked for a day, now all the issues are back and actually worse; the lighting is especially wonky and the shadows broken.

Still getting random Device call errors crashing my system gxdi_error_device_hung was the last.  I can't seem to get to level 14 w/o some corrupted file and frequent saves have turned out to carry the error probability forward -very frustrating!

The menus are awful for PC use, it´s just to much clicking for everything.

 

Hope this will be optimized by upcoming patches, seems it´s only optimized for gamepads at the moment.

 

The ingame movement is okay with mouse and keyboard, but the tactical cam needs an urgent update (more possible zoom out, and when you select another char for attack commands the cam jumps away from the target, and you have to move the cam again to select it).

The inventory is hideous. Period.

 

And the crafting system is basically impossible to understand!

 

With games like Skyrim ... and even the Diablo series, there's no reason for such a shitty inventory system.
