Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, polygamist-interrupter! Waltz in with your fancy ways and smooth talk and shiny shoes...

Proposed to and abandoned all in one measly over-long thread.

The bleedin' humanity.

Oh - and Conal, me old son, thankee fer popping in and mindin' our manners and the non-answer answer to 509 pages of frustration.  You're plucky and handsome both with your Irish name and English talkaround.  You seem like the kind of stout lad that can drain a pint while lettin' his mum comb his hair before sending him off on his date with Maggie O'Maggieshins with a song on his lips and five whole quid in 'is pocket in the 'opes love'll bloom.

Beware them Lotharios with shiny shoes and smooth ways, Conal.  They'll only lead you to grief.

Well... wait, no! I didn't withdraw my proposal, I just decided not to duel Cyan.

But to be fair, you did say no. :P

As for Mr Pierse, I'm still chuffed that I found his in-game... ancestor?.... AU...? ... whoever, Warden Pierse, who was able to tell my Inquisitor all about what it's like to be corrupted.

LIKE (out of 'em)

AND>>> Jesus H Christ on a bike- It's a real life DA:I male elf! *screams*

What little sanity I had has now departed...

Speaking of which, I think I may need an intervention regarding my fgantasy photoshoot. After a trip to the Blacksmith's at haven my quizzie is sporting three very swish custom made outfits- two the same except for colour, and he has had a photo shoot in all of them. Yeah sure, it started as a bit of a lark, a bit of a ****** take even, but now...I really enjoy it.  I think I might need help...

Thank you, Mr Pierse. :)

Side note:

I popped back in because of another CTD, one that has (now) been consistent enough that I feel it might not be an issue with my particular game: whenever I try to load potions at a camp. It happens about 30% of the time: try to cycle through the potion loading station and CTD, no error.

Again, it seems to be related to Origin spiking--I use to think it was a coincidence in timing but it seems, not.

Also, one for your meshing lot (not strictly speaking, PC only, but while I'm here)--the people looking into the male elf arms, perhaps?

(images below: you want to take a close look at Cassandra's shoulders)

Spoiler

The mesh hasn't been correctly connected to the shoulder bones, it appears, for the chainmail shoulders. This is actually a crafted heavy arms addition, but there was a similar issue in a past game (I didn't get a screenie) for a non-crafted one on my warr girl, same mesh, so it isn't an issue just for Cassandra's armour mesh. I haven't checked to see if it happens for blokes as well, but I can move the arm to Blackwall's armour and see if it's an issue for him, too, if oyu want.

ETA: The base mesh for Cass's armour without the arm addition is fine, just fyi.

Godsdammit, Griffonclaw. Don't make me duel you for him. :P

Can I join in I always liked a 3 way  ;)

I noticed a(nother) bug: when i try to break a boring conversation it dont break, a speak baloon keeps floating and the conversation dont end.

When i try to hid the hud by options, what happens is that characters disappear, i can change party controlled character, but the big intrusive quest marker dont disappear; tbh its annyoing, every time i interact with something it insist to track a new conversation i constantly need to go journal -> set inactive.

It already exists. And for some ungodly reason it's doing better than my product. Which is outrageous... no offense Errationatus.

None taken.  I'm thinking I may have to license the stuff.  The soap, not the other thing.

Nice job.  ;)

Ah, I didn't say no, I only said my wife would kill, resurrect and then kill me again. This is standard loveplay for most women, I'm led to understand. Still, if you must duel Cyan, I can't stop you. Besides it makes me feel pretty.

Well, all right then. Pretty is important. :D

Time to kill, then resurrect, then... well, hey. You're right!

Isabela: So, just how good is Donnic? Is he cocksure?

Aveline: [Sighs] Just... get it out of your system.

Isabela: Did he... curl your toes? Dwarf your beard? Arl your Eamon? Shank your Jory? Praise your Maker? Grope your grinder? Establish his cannon? Kaddis your Katie? Dampen your Divine? Pamper your Paragon? Gray your Warden? Pudding your peach? Float your frigate? Explore your Deep Roads?

How about "satisfy a demand of your Qun?" Or did he Cup your Joining? Or master your taint? That's an old one.

Aveline: Yes, all right? He is an incredibly proficient lover. Happy?

Isabela: Well that's rather personal, don't you think?

Yeah, i love the thread. I can do things like that.

So it's been a few weeks since I played DA:I. I started a new character since I finished my playthrough from before.

NOW THE GAME CRASHEs EVERY FIVE TO TEN MINUTES.

I am running:

Windows 7

CPU: 6 core AMD CPU at 3.5GHZ (4.1ghz turbo)

GPU: Radeon XFX R9 280 3GB DDR5

16 gig of RAM

WTF did Bioware do with their update? I've played the game through twice now without any of these problems. Now. No chance. What gives? Oh, and run it on Mantle? Not a chance. Apparently Mantle doesn't even know what full screen is.

Please don't tell me it's my PC. It isn't. I know it isn't. I've done nothing to it since I got the effing game.

Frustrated as all f*ck.

I had the same problem some weeks ago, evenwhen i never had the CTD crash or any other crash before. It had something to do with the Solas side quest, so it was a bug of the game. Is there an specific spot or quest or something where that happens?

And yeah, don´t even try on Mantle, is screwed, you´ll only get stuttering issues and more crashes and more headaches. I go with Directx 11 and had no problems. have less problems.

I found with my AMD card (I also have Win 7) I had to update the driver (again) after Patch 2. This was a new driver put out by them at about that time. 4.12, I believe (I had updated to 4.11--the game was okay with that before P2--just before so I missed the new one at patch 2 until I went on site and looked--Win 7 will not find the update for you). This would be within your few weeks past, so that might be it. I had all sorts of stuttering until I did that and then also performed a complete game repair via Origin (had to do both).

This does not fix the random CTDs (those are mostly, IMO, game engine + origin app issues that the end user cannot do anything about) but it did fix all the stuttering I had after P2 and those related crashes. And as Sutree says, forget Mantle. It's pointless. And if you haven't already, turn off the Origin overlays and whatnot (I also go offline). DA:I really hates background processes. It's clunkier than an old Holden running on unleaded. You may also need to remove the 60fps command line if you have it. (If not, disregard :D )

May not help, but it did for me, so hopefully it will for you as well. :)

+ All the things @Bethgael said, also check if you have the Visual C++ Redistributable. Some said that downloading and installing this fixed the crashes (If they are random)

Alternatively, open ProfileOptions_profile, go through all the settings and make sure the default value of all variables is 1. If there is something greater than 1, change it to 1.

Doing so will reset everything to default.

I´m not saying this are all solutions, but you may wanna give it a shot.

Is this why we got the control scheme that's in the game now?

I think so. Although I can't imagine which game of Ea he is referring too. The game controls in DaI suck but they are not hard. It seems to me alot of those people are clueless.

I have a question (and a multitude of questions in that particular question):

Tactical Camera allows you to point and click on the ground to move your character. Why does point and click work only in tactical camera mode? Is it because of the different elevations in layers?

If point and click can work in tactical mode, does it mean that layers or different levels of elevation are discounted or ignored?

I also know jumping now must be taken into account, but couldn't the point and click system stop where there is an obvious need for jumping?

The reason why I ask is because tactical camera is pretty much useless to me.

Tactics are either completely micro-managed or go to the other extreme such as hack and slash. I cannot find the middle ground here.

Tactics in Inquisition, for the most part, are turning on and off abilities. Some abilities are just plain useless to me like Charging Bull and I find myself spamming barrier. I only use tactical camera for the puzzles.

In Origins, you could spend a lot of time mastering the "if x occurs, do y to counter it" tactics that worked beautifully. Most of the time in Origins, I just started the battle and watched Leliana hit from a distance and then carve up the poor sod that got too close. Sten was a beast. He'd gather up all the minions and then start swinging like he's Babe Ruth. Morrigan would control the battlefield with spells. Wynne casted heal spells to those whose health dropped below a certain percentage.

In Inquisition, it feels like I just need to spam barrier and revive characters on the battlefield by touch.

Not clueless... just "lazy", which is much more inexcusable. At least "clueless" can be changed with information.

Yet we're the ones who are tagged as "entitled" because we are customers who are dissatisfied with a product we purchased with hard cash- and developers think that lazy brats who don't want to put the effort into learning something actually have a "valid" opinion.

Seriously, it's the Twilight Zone.
