The only, but exceptionally best thing about Skyrim is the modding capabilities.
And the soundtrack. I like the music.
I cannot though understand why some of you guys, after the DA2 and ME3 fiascos, got suckered in and bought/pre-order the game.
Haven't you people learnt by now that when dealing with EA, you must wait at least 6 months after the release of a game, so that some bugs are fixed, and the games is on some sale and suffers a price reduction?
I plan to buy this game in June 2015, playing it on a new AMD Radeon 300x series. By that time DAI will be worth 30 euros new, some bugs will get fixed.
And that only if the PC version will at least suffer an improvement on the UI and gameplay.
TotalBiscuit's video on Youtube, here at https://youtu.be/lu0...BTawC-k7PVjHXKQ convinced me that the PC version is nothing like DAO was.
Meanwhile I can play DAO and even DA2 to catch up on the story. I don't remember them exactly.
Or Divinity-Original Sin. Or Wasteland 2.
Not to mention that I will be buying The Witcher 3 from GOG, free of any DRM.
Hope you guys learn your lessons and do not pre-order nor buy on day 1 Mass Effect 4 for the PC.
I'm from Eastern Europe.
I just don't get this Western American ideology, this impulse to buy games on day 0.
Or even pre-order it.
What's wrong with you people?
How come you fall so easily for all the Youtube marketing trick from IGN or PC Gamer, all the reviews (obviously paid for by EA and BioWare)?
Why are you god damned Americans so impulsive when buying?
What has Capitalism done to you people, that you just lost your critical thinking capability, and simply buy on impulse, an impulse generated by hype marketing campaigns prior to release date?
One of the good things of the Communist era in Eastern Europe, is that most people now in Eastern Europe, do not believe a single syllable that comes out of the mouth of a "figure of authority", be they commercial enterprises or State public officials.
What's wrong with you?
Why do you simply forget what EA is all about?

this would be borderline harrassment and would get us nowhere. We best keep civilized and keep making feedback until we get some sort of official answer about wether or not they're gonna fix some / alll issues.
I'm prepared to see that nothing will be changed and they are happy with the released product, that they will try to improve stability and fix crash related problems but that will probably take months for them (as always with Bioware).
Don't expect anything about modding or toolkit to modify even just the UI, cause you know, consoles couldn't profit from that, and EA and BW wouldn't want to hurt MS and Sony feelings ![]()

You're very prescient. But I do not think it will be Laidlaw or Darrah signing it. It will have to be a Bioware employee. (lol)

Yes because it's only Americans who have the impulse to preorder. Don't act as if there aren't Europeans or people from other countries that don't, because there are. People are still people. If you want to buy a game months later then I completely understand because I've done that to, but there people do. Dragon Age 2 was rushed by EA and Bioware couldn't do anything about that. Mass Effect 3 wasn't a bad game either. Unless you're talking about bugs, because I didn't buy those games on release. I got into Mass Effect months after ME3 came out and the Dragon Age games last year. Then can get where you're coming from.

Would be nice for the community manager to poke his head up and give a status update. Even if its to say that there is limited staff this week because of the holidays and maybe expect more details next week. That would be good customer service...so I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Any other complaint I'd have is that the tactical camera isn't pulled out far enough. Quite annoying. Either I'm doing something wrong or it's meant to be that way.

After experiencing how bad and frustrating the PC controls were for this game, I decided to plug in my 360 controller thinking that this game was designed more around console use. To be honest, playing this game on a 360 controller was just as painful as using the mouse.
Is it just me or has QA been non-existent in games these past two years? How did the game launch with this control scheme and UI? Why do I manually have to chase enemies down and spend my time repeatedly clicking? I wouldn't even consider it an action-oriented mechanic, it just makes it harder to manage my party and half the time I end up slicing through the air. I just can't suffer through it and I'm not going to invest any hope in a PR post that took a few minutes to write.
Thankfully my game was available for refund on Origin and I have started the process (which I hear is quite easy to do actually). I encourage everyone else to do the same. Speak with your wallet. I will happily re-purchase this game if they decide to fix it. The goal of this PR post was to stall us from starting the refund process before the 24 hour window for digital refund runs out. Make them live up to their talk.
PS- I very likely repeated what a bunch of other people said in this enormous thread. However, such criticisms need to be voiced continuously if we ever hope to get our point across.

This game has more bugs than my hunting camp. SLI is a mess. 2x770's. Cut scenes are glitched, some of them even freeze up with the characters eyes blinking, and nothing else. Sometimes the sound dies. No voice, no music, just environmental. i.e The sound of bugs... Sometimes quests are completed when i load my game, even though I never fully completed the quest. for example, in the hinterlands, I had to meet a farmer, and talk about a horse. I saved, when I came back, the quest said "go get your horse" wtf? At one point one of my characters was on top of a tree. Thankfully, she came down.
I've been able to fix it to some extent, by disabling SLI, or adding switches to the EXE to better serve the cut scenes, but overall, its a bit messy.
I guess my biggest question is.... All the time Bioware was working on this they never once tried SLI? never saw any of these problems?? I get that its hard to replicate every scenario, but the fact that everyone here is having the same issues, is a case of a company with tight deadlines to appease share holders.

You don't have to believe its actually from Mark Darrah if you don't want to but its the best we have so far. Lets assume for now that it is and what I get from this is that there are a number of patches planned over the coming days/weeks.My take on it, is that they'll release the things first that are easiest to address quickly and are of concern to the community and themselves. Which may be game breaking fixes such as CTD's, performance, compatibility and other stability issues.I asked him for rough outline and timescales but he hasn't replied back yet.
OK, so it says that he sent that Today, 05:48 PM, which I'm guessing is last night, about 8 hours ago? Are you US-based?
If so, that means he's surely contacted others to give this "update" and we should start seeing it from other sources. Now, as for the "series of patches" thing, that's better than telling us there will only be one patch. So, good.
I agree with you, that the game-breaking issues will be first on the list. Hopefully, that one guy was right about them having a package of pc ui fixes ready for the first patch, and we see some additional fixes.

So glad I read these posts before spending any money on this game.
Thing is, its a pretty darn good game if you can wrestle around the control issues. I bought this on day 1 (DVD version since my internet is crap), installed and played 15 minutes before heading off to the internets to find out what I am doing wrong since click to move did nothing. Saw that it was removed and then started reading more and more and got more and more unimpressed with the game. I did not go back to it until yesterday and decided to give it a shot with my "new found" self-understanding that I should NOT compare it to DAO and start over.
I have to admit that giving the game a chance from that perspective is making me like it! Now, the PC controls are baffed and have to be augmented with more options made available. I am not playing it as I played DAO but more like, dare I say it, Skyrim lol.
This game has a personality disorder in its current state as if Bioware could not decide whether to make an action game or a role playing game and ended up with a stew of both.
I see an opportunity for Bioware to potentially make both camps quite happy with some, what appear to be, relatively minor changes/options that allows the player to choose his style of play.
As I mentioned before though, I highly doubt that this will appease the hardcore DAO fan as those deeper game play mechanics might be just a tad too much augmentation for this version.

Calm down people.
There are several things that make me wary of where some people try to take this thread.
Let me just say that DA:I was indeed (also) developed for the PC. The UI is not a typical PC UI though, but rather mostly, at this time, a console port. That is true. But the rest, graphics etc, is for the PC, so M.Laidlaw and co haven't lied.
There are some bugs for some PC configurations. This is nothing unique for a newly launched game. Patches will fix it. As usual.
As for invoking major shareholders and board members to involve themselves in what the development studios do, isn't that the last thing we want? Really. Think it through. Where would that lead to, in the long run?
Let the team have a chance to fix the major issues. They will do that. Then we'll see where it goes next.
And again I don't know what was done yesterday...cloud storage wasn't working (I guess that means their servers were down?) And today no matter what antic I do to try to enter the game, it just gives me that device creation error again...wants direct x 10 and I have direct x 11 (Nvidia card) Day before that I was able to play for an hour or two.
Maybe I'll come back in a year and see if they fixed it...sorry now I am just laughing and counting my losses.
