I'm happily busying myself with multiple games that have actual PC UI's.

Don't really plan on coming back here (or starting DAI) until I see some of the PC control promises (of last year, before any patching) fulfilled by this company.

Well at least stop by the club-house and say hello once in a while.

I hear that. I wrote a short story, my first, during this debacle. If anything that comes out of this, I found the coolest people in the player's group. You know, I still hope and EXPECT EAware to come through. Sitting back and just following what's going on the industry, I see that the FB3 has a lot of potential and can be a great medium for future franchises. EA just has to keep the real knowledgeable staff in their ranks for a long time to combat turnover in personnel. I also believe that they need to hire a lot more code monkeys who have put out mods using their incredibly complex engine without the aid of a toolkit.

Again, it makes too much sense to do that.

But hey... one can always dream. (Lighting blue mana potion)

Yeah! Don't be all elitist on us. I can't believe I was called an elitist.

Not sure if it's been posted yet, but Bioware has apparently cancelled Shadow Realms, its new online RPG, so they can focus on figuring out how to get native mouse button mapping working in Dragon Age Inquisition.

Oh whew.  Hits to the Austin team in general would have concerned me.  I don't know anything about Shadow Realms, but this really does not seem like the time for EA to be spinning up a new MMO anyway.  Apparently someone over there is on the same page I am.  Scary thought for both of us, whomever they may be.

At any rate, good to see the team's going to work on the 254 other projects they already have going and that the project shutdown won't hit Austin hard.

Cyan Griffonclaw, why use AMD betadrivers? I use omega 14.12 drivers and mantle (Windows 7 64-bit), i thing they work just fine. Is there some reason use betadrivers(14.11.2 Beta) instead of 14.12 drivers, fps increase or something?

Well, I've resorted to praying to the Maker for EAware. I don't like seeing people lose their jobs. I also want my beloved franchises to succeed.

I'm not alone, either. Most of the PC Community doesn't want this to end badly. However, we're not suckers, either. So... let me get back to praying.

Dear Bioware! I love Inquisition  <3  But there are still things I hope to see in a future patch, among these are:

Click-to-move/loot/attack in action cam  (as an option)

Auto-attack in action cam  (as an option)

Zoom out further in tac cam

Navigate tac cam with mouse on screen edge

Tilt tac cam without zooming in

Show interactables always with a toggle, or by holding a button  (larger radius, no ping sound)

Detailed tooltips

Inventory overview

Option to remove/resize minimap

Option to hide buttons on quickbar I never use  (Seach, Timer, Hold, Attack, etc.)

Select multiple companions by clicking character portraits (shift + mouse click)

I would also like to see:

- more than 8 special abilities on the bar

- allow Inventory during battle so you can switch weapons

and to a lesser extent the console commands.  The game is so much nicer without having to stop and pick every single flower you pass by.

On my rig, I had to set the settings to low with the new drivers after Patch 3. I don't know if it was Patch 3 or the new drivers, but my FPS would drastically drop for no reason. IE: I'm in combat, everything is flowing fine. Come out combat and look around and the FPS drops to 3-4. It then pops back when I go the character screen or inventory. Cutscenes would sometimes CTD and I really had some issues with loading times. I knew something was jacked when it took five minutes to load the Hinterlands. So, going back to the beta driver actually helped... after Patch 4. I'm afraid to change to the new drivers. I've got it working even though my others games are letting me know that there is a new driver available.

I have OCD. 394 Elfroot, 63 iron and I still haven't run into Mother Giselle at the Hinterlands. Maker.... help me!

You had better check out Nexus and CheatEngine. Some very pleasant surprises await!

Seriously. With CheatEngine, the game is actually fun to play through. It's still hack and slash, but it's playable. I am replaying my 1st and only playthrough with my mage. I'm using mods and really liking the flexibility. These people are making Inquisition complete and feel more like DA2 or Origins. All without a toolkit, too.

Oh how I miss the ability to swap between bow and daggers during battle! Seriously, why would you cut that? It's right up there with cutting in quest party interaction on the 'Most WTF? DA:I design decisions' list for me.  I mean, under what circumstance would anyone think either of these things would enhance gameplay? Baffling.

And every time I see that room with the ladder in my bedroom I think 'where the hell is the storage chest?'

But hey, I have banter now and am about to get myself a bigger inventory so it's definitely playable now thanks to mods. Remember when the rule of thumb was play through vanilla once before you modded LOL! The reason I think I'll finally get past the ball is because of the mods!

My feelings vacillate so much when I read that bolded part Cyan Griffonclaw. It made me really think about why it painted a 'tinge of whinge'. I picture myself on a precipice. On either side of me rest my personal definitions of success and failure at this point. If they manage to actually deliver before my dwindling interest becomes so permeated with indifference that I no longer care - they annoyingly cast fragile rays of hope on upcoming titles. Where as if it ends belly up, I'm without a shred of concern for the future of DA or ME. Which come to think of it would work out because I don't think I'd voluntarily undergo this experience a second time. For the sake of neutrality they could make the next greatest thing since sliced bread.

Complicated and conflicted. Pray for me too Cyan because Shar really isn't giving me positive vibes.

Depends on what you want.

Recolors for the Skyhold PJs/ casual cloting Nexus

Wear equipped armor in Skyhold - Cheat Engine.

Hair and face, Nexus

Fix banter Cheat Engine

Unlimited items for crafting, in inventory, in shops, God Mode, Unlimited camera zoom and a lot more depending on the codes or table you use all Cheat Engine.

Personally I prefer CE with a good table that does all I MIGHT want it to do. I can toggle what it actually does on or off as I wish in my game and, if one of those things is ever fixed by EA, I can still use my other preferences and simply not toggle what was fixed on. I also prefer armor in Skyhold as opposed to recolored PJs and, I like that as a side effect of that one, helms stay on during cutscenes if they are equipped on the characters involved in the cutscene.

Thank you, good sir. Yeah, i think Nexus mods should be used with the game running w/o stuttering or crashes or weird ****, so you can enjoy them more. CE is more practictal for now.

But, omg, retexture the eyes, increase inventory capacity, customize quivers, tweaks to companion/advisors face textures, CORYPHEUS GLOWING FACE LMFAO, normal conversation camera zoom, red head Sera, and on and on, damn, in a month Inquisition will be so big and so much stuff to add or do that will look like a diferent game.

@Sutree: Always is with EA games, I play the Sims as well. With Sims 3 I had a little over 12 GB of CC for the game. DAI modding is in it's infancy, in a year, we won't recognize the game if we compare a vanilla game to a heavily modded one.

No toolset is a minor hindrance for the top modders, they will get it figured out and, probably get a better handle on the engine than Bioware has on it. I know they did with Sims 3 - modders fixed corrupt saves, crashing games, missing characters, stuck objects, missing interactions and more. They are working on all of that and more with Sims 4 and, I'm sure DAI will soon join the ranks of well modded EA games.

Yeah, i was wondering about the restrictions of working w/o a toolset, but dang, look at them already. I just saw they have a compilation of bug fixes (not sure wich ones, i´m just overviewing the amazing job they are doing), so yeah, this game will be gianormus in some months, maybe a year as you said, don´t know how fast can they do more stuff but this shows that they are on it without visible restriction. And if there is some of that, they are jumping through it like ferocious lions over burning hoops.

Imagine something like this available thx to the modders:

IOW: a PC game not a console port. Every single one of these issues exists because while it can easily been done on PC, they can't be done on consoles. Give us our PC game!

The one mod that made DAI playable for me was the inventory size! It was only when I had a good inventory that I realised how much i was filtering. Can I pick that up or do I toss it? Now I just grab without thinking. Filter it out back in Skyhold. It also means I save 2 Inquisition Perks!! haha

Well tbh guys i think that fixing those controls for pc wont make the game much better, it will only redirect your attention to other stuff like a very weak ending, mmo'ish like side quests, no real choices, allmost no replay value, a pre alpha multiplayer mode etc..  When i bought the game i said to myself that even if i finish the game only once i still got a multiplayer in DA world to enjoy with! So its a good investment for sure! Oh yeah smart call by me...
Its hard to calm down because i not used to paying 60$ for this.. Up until like a year ago i been mostly sitting in mmorpg games and paying 15$ a month for 100s of hours! I also remembered that i spent 100s of hours on DA:O so i thought it will be the same ( and it even has a multiplayer mode!!!)

Oi.  I like you.  But do not disrespect Cole's hat in my presence.

;)

Cole, by far, is the best bad ass dagger wielding rogue character that tagged along with my team. He had some awful powerful daggers that were plucked from chests found in the world while I was meandering around Thedas.

A truly excellent ROI, if you spent the time developing this character.  My most prized killing instrument.  I'd picked him up from the shelf when needed and then put him back once the job was done. His purpose,.. his sole purpose... is to kill.

Well, that was my use of him.... Personally, the game designer(s) made the wrong choice. Cole is much better suited to work with Leliana.

Everyone here who has never worked a job where different projects in different stages of completion were worked on simultaneously raise your hand.

The answer is ZERO.
