This is a useful and accurate tool for measuring temps for AMD CPUs. I noticed that some temperature programs don't correctly report temps for AMD. This one does.  http://openhardwaremonitor.org/  and best part is that it's a free tool.

Thank you. I guess with six fans in the rig, everything is remaining pretty cool.

Something like this maybe.  http://www.newegg.co...00003-_-Product

Here's a cheaper one that's good.  http://www.newegg.co...=9SIA6J32EA6157

Wow, nice prices and performance it seems. I´ll look forward for on of those. Thank you @Peregrinus linus vinus (?) xD Love you!

Does the case have a lot to do with heat in CPU and GPU? I'm a noob to PC gaming really but when I had mine built (yes, built FOR me, not by me lol!) I opted for a Guardian case because it is supposed to be cooling...and okay it has a super cool LED light set up.

Anyway it also has digital temp readouts and my CPU and GPU are always within one degree of each other and even when the temperature inside the house was 35+ Celsius (that would be 45+ outside, oh Qld such a lovely place in Summer) nether of them went over 37 degrees running the game. So all these high temps are amazing to me, I guess. Not that I know enough to be amazed...

AFAIK yes, it has a lot to do with it. Mine is old, no proper ventilation and makes the air inside the case dense and hot. The LED light set up is always worth it, even if your rig burns you can have fun watching all the lights and shinny stuff xD

With that temperature your CPU and GPU were at 37 degrees? I hate you. And i love you. But i hate you now. Love you later.

Thank you. I guess with six fans in the rig, everything is remaining pretty cool.

AND YOU TOO JUST CAUSE HAVING SIX FANS IN YOUR RIG I HATE YOU AND LOVE YOU BUT HATE YOU BUT LOVE YOU LATER.

Snip

------

What air cooler would you recomend that is not really expensive? And also, stressing the CPU can cause some kind of trouble? Don´t wanna melt it now and have no PC to use T_T

My personal preference it to have a silent PC rig, even when running games that stress the system. So, when I build my PC system, it's based on that objective.... blessed silence. This means installing silent/noiseless fans along with a proper case whose design is to remove heat via good air flow.

To be fair, stock coolers are engineered to do one job... cooling the cpu as long as it is not overclocked. Expect a cheap one that generates noise at max fan speed.

Look at this one: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan (RR-212E-20PK-R2

It's about $35US. However, I stress that you must ensure it will fit inside your case. Also, moving around inside your case after installation will be cramped and make sure whatever cooler you decide to install, that the memory sticks don't interfere.

BTW: BIG fans (ie: 120mm +) remove heat better and at lower rpms = less noise.

Hope this helps.

@Sartoz, where i live is in heat, like 30 degrees C. Looking at your pc temperature made me want to put a coat :P

LOL!!!

Outside it's -18C right now. Indoors it's set at 21C. At night I set it to 16C because no way I'm heating the outside while I'm curled up in bed

Lol! @ Sutree, I'll  love you always, even when you hate me. ;)

This is mine- being in Aus it added about $140 to the build price, but seriously- look at the lights! I just wanted a case that looked like one of the flash gaming rigs I'd been envying for years haha!

I run a Nvdia GPU Sartoz, but cool link.

@Lunafancy  Nice case!  :)   I think what Sartoz linked is probably the better cpu cooler for you.  It does cost a bit more but for that case, I think it will suit you better.

Thanks again and again and again @Sartoz. I´ll keep the trace on everything. But, so... Umh... Stressing my CPU now can hurt it? Yes i´m a retard. I know. T_T

Love is always there @LunaFancy, always there :D

I´d pay to get my rig in your woods.

No bloody way is you CPU and GPU just 37C when your ambient temp is 35C.

Simple test is for you to put your hand next to the fan in the back of the case and feel the air.  If the blowing air feels warm or hot, then it's not 37C.  Place a portable thermometer, if you have one, next to the blowing air to get a readout.... and this temp is much..much cooler than the CPU temperature.

Not normally. A CPU should be able to run max load 24/7 without issues, given sufficient cooling.

Yep, fire in the wood stove has been burning since early December, tonight I doubt we will get the house above 18C or 19C, one of the special joys of living in Canada.

Speaking of temps, I decided to check mine.  I recently got a GTX970, been working great.  Seems to idle at 60C which is a tad high but apparently normal, go figure.  I guess I should check to see what happens in a more stress situation.

Edit: Mind you I bought my 970 before seeing this fiasco became public knowledge.  I lol'd.

Open the case and fire up DA:I, that ought to warm your house pretty well.

LOL!!

My case has a side window and the original case fans had blue lights. Then I went the silent route... replacing the fans with the noiseless ball bearing ones. No more art... just plain engineer boring stuff.

But yours does look cool. :)

Well, it says 31 degrees now and it is cool behind the fans. I have an outdoor thermometer only so aybe it wasn't quite 35 indoors? I dunno it was 45 outdoors on that day and disgustingly hot inside so I took a guess at 35. *shrugs*

This is running DAI or at idle? 'cause with Sutree I think we were talking about DAI running

Not that bad. However, I game with gaming headphones. I don't hear them. You should hear it when the DVD burner is running. It's old-school man... old school.

Now it's not running anything, but I downloaded the program and it does have it as running a few degrees higher 33- 33 across all the cores and 39 for the CPU package . My pretty LED display has apparently been lying to me!

I'll load DAI now and see just how big a whopper it has been telling!

I can't get Inquisition going. I merged another mod that might not be ready. I'm having to uninstall/install again because the repair option didn't correct the issue. Ugh. The perils of modding the FB3 engine.

That's decent temps.  Your on load temps of course will be higher. I know it hits around 50-65 for me when I'm running a game.   So if you are in that range or even a bit higher, you should be good.
