Can someone point out a 500-60 pre built pc that can run this game? If so i will happily join the community

http://www.amazon.co...#productDetails

It is usually better to build your own when you can though.. You get more for same or less budget.

The reason directx exists at all was to prevent the whole glide/Open gl API from fracturing the PC market.
AMDs Mantle seems to want to bring us back to the days where which card you have in your machine (nvidia,AMD) will greatly determine what type of game experience you have.
So to have a particular engine favor one card over another(money under table) is disastrous for PC gaming.

IIRC DirectX was a response to Open GL meant specifically TO fracture the PC market. Open GL is theoretically platform-independent, and was a huge deal at the time as it would have allowed easier implementation of games across Windows, Mac, Linux or whatever else came around (again, IIRC this was around the time of the BeBox/BeOS, which could have been a real contender if they hadn't made a colossal blunder around a year to two after they started producing software / equipment). Microsoft didn't want this, and decided to counter it with their own Windows-only API, thus helping to fracture a market in order to maintain dominance in the gaming OS market. Microsoft has also fought other open standards as well, such as the attempts to create (a widely accepted) open-document format (they essentially want the .doc format to be the "default" document format, when what the world needs in a open format that everything can read / write with little or no fiddling about.) Sure, plenty of open resources still exist, and are supported to some extent, but not nearly as fully as they could/should have been without Microsoft's resistance.

I wonder why it is taking so long to fix PC control issues?

I thought that was one of their priorities.

*sadpanda* :(

So here i am again but with a list this time.

1.  Hairpack - Long hairstyles for both genders and all the races.

2. Slider for CC - Human male faces are so macho want to be able to do a slimmer more femine face for them.

3. Romance Varric - Yeah, sure you can be a dwarf yourself and romance human and elfs. But no dwarf, does Bioware have something against dwarfs. In origins you could have a baby with Mardy but that is it. Oghren was a no no so was Varric in DA2. ( you can flirt with him as a human but i think that Varric just go after other dwarfs. But that is just a thought.) And i really want my female dwarf to be able to romance another dwarf. Plus everone know that Bianca will always be Varrics true love, but he deserves some happines to right. ( read Jenni Ladas post on gamezone.com. She has some good points their.)

4. Delete Button - I have many of the same wardens in the keep. So need a delete button to take them away so that i can sync in my other wardens.

5. Finery/Clothes - The Halamshiral and Skyhold outfits are just awful. I mean, you are the leader of your organisation. Show it. The clothes need to be more praktfull and glamorous.

6. Last Mosaic piece - do somthing about the last Mosaic in Hinterlands. So annoying when you can`t find the final piece.

7. Solas - GIVE him hair!!

8

You can continue this list if you want to. It`s open for more complaints or suggestions...

So here i am again but with a list this time.

1.  Hairpack - Long hairstyles for both genders and all the races.   Modders will probably add this. Officially, probably not due to clipping issues, etc..

2. Slider for CC - Human male faces are so macho want to be able to do a slimmer more femine face for them.  Modders will do this very likely as they did with Skyrim.

3. Romance Varric - Yeah, sure you can be a dwarf yourself and romance human and elfs. But no dwarf, does Bioware have something against dwarfs. In origins you could have a baby with Mardy but that is it. Oghren was a no no so was Varric in DA2. Plus everone know that Bianca will always be Varrics true love, but he deserves some happines to right.   Once again, modders. Very unlikely to be added by official source. I feel the same way. why the prejudice ?

4. Delete Button - I have many of the same wardens in the keep. So need a delete button to take them away so that i can sync in my other wardens.   doubtful on both accounts.

5. Finery/Clothes - The Halamshiral and Skyhold outfits are just awful. I mean, you are the leader of your organisation. Show it. The clothes need to be more praktfull and glamorous.  I agree but there are already mods for this.

6. Last Mosaic piece - do somthing about the last Mosaic in Hinterlands. So annoying when you can`t find the final piece.  already moved by a mod and fixed.

7. Solas - GIVE him hair!!    NO   :)

8   Please fix Directx issues, CTD's, banter  and other technical issues before anything else.

Dooming history to repeat itself. Unwavering loyalty and willful ignorance will indeed allow such a thing occur.
Mar. 6th - ME3 released.
June 26th - EC released.
112 days or 16 weeks or 4 months. EC really did not fix all that much for me, but it made it a modicum better.

In comparison:
Nov. 18th - DA:I released.
Mar.(late March probably?) - DA:I patch 5
~130 days or ~18 weeks or ~4 1/2 months. So... almost right on track.

I'm going say this patch is still great news just as I did before the release of EC. If only to foster the warm fuzzies we all have. Cue timewarp gif. Yes, this post is laced with hypocrisy.

Fret not, nor sweat not, BSN has absolutely no problems with hypocrisy.

Honesty?  That's another story.  Watch how much of that you sling.

Yes, but there is a problem with cloud as well. A lot of people buy offline games like DAI beacuse they have limited bandwidth (me being one of them) we can't be uploading and downloading saves daily and, we can't play MMO games much for bandwidth and/or latency reasons. We buy offline games because we can play them w/o having anything to do with our ISP connection (beyond the validation Origin requires on first run.)

That means consoles are out for me, I have to have local storage for my saves and, want to be able to play the full game offline at any time. I'm not the only one.

And before someone tells me to get a different ISP, the only other option where I live is one with even lower bandwidth limits for the same price or, 24k max speed dial up so, that is not an option unless I move, in which case who will buy this backwoods home for 50g or so sot that I can afford to move to a place with DSL that will accept all of my animals. (note home apprises at 26g)

They are going to have poor sales in Australia then, Cloud type hardware works very poorly on our backwards ISP's, the more they push this the less Aussies will buy..

ISP's have a monopoly here, so it really doesn't matter which ISP you get they are all crap...

We still have 20mb ADSL2 with 50gb downloads that equates to about 5-8 mb to American states... I currently pay $125 a month with 200GB limits..

Honestly that is very poor comment from a Developer.

I missed the last couple days in here, just saw the beta post... interesting.

I want to be happy, and respect BioWare for the move. I really do.

Yet it simply pisses me off. They have an Emporium for the game. Will be accessible for the Beta testers.

So why isn't here, now, in the game? What possible reason? When you KNOW players are having appearance issues related to scars, hairstyles, and voices... all caused by bugs in the game?

You have a fix. But to access it I need to sign up to beta test your game even more?

Good thought.

Slap in the face, though.

But you know what? There ARE other game companies who still interact with their fans - even Ubisoft! How many times have we seen statements from none other than CEO, Yves Guillemot. And Ubisoft is a much larger company than Bioware.

BioWare is not a company anymore.

It is a subdivision of the company EA, and EA are a larger company than Ubisoft. Though I wonder how long that will last, I suspect that it might become financially infeasible to have such a widespread company in the near future... clocks ticking on the inevitable down-sizing of EA. Can't wait, fingers crossed*

As much as I understand your perspective if you read a bit more closely and really paid attention to what is going on here, beta testing the emporium and this next patch is the single best thing they could have done (... well I was going to say since release but then it wasn't a good idea releasing the game when they did in the first place) since cancelling Exalted March.

Every patch they have introduced into this game has caused almost more problems than it has resolved. Can you imagine how much of an effect a significantly larger patch could have on the game? And with the arduous and lengthy process to patch bugs caused by previous patches (ala hotfixes). Beta testing is a much safer way to go about it.

Why are so many acting like only beta testers will ever get the Emporium? Those that are accepted will test it so that the rest get it relatively bug free a few weeks later. It is the fastest, most cost effective way to get it play tested and, ready for release.

I do recognize the positive outcome of this. I do. I just get annoyed at how long this is taking.

DarkAmaranth1966 - I understand the Emporium will come... weeks later, as you said. Yet, this game has demonstrated via Hawke that the character generator can be initiated outside of the beginning. If not the entire Emporium, there was no reason they could not have corrected the issues I laid out earlier. A whole Emporium isn't necessary. Just a one shot item added into your gifts chest that re-initiates the character generator. Make it something every single character gets. Hell, make it an item that isn't one-use only. What the hell does it matter if people want to change their hairstyle, scars, etc?

You don't need to launch a patch, a DLC, or any other BS in order do this. It doesn't take excessive coding, or anything that isn't already in the game. The only possible reason not to:
It may conflict with a paid DLC Emporium. Some people may only want the Emporium to fix the bugs (pay to fix!), and that threatens the bottom line.

I think the complaint is that participation in the beta isn't guaranteed. Someone who wants the patch as soon as possible may not be afforded the option because they missed the beta. Ideally beta access would be opt-in for everyone who wants to risk it.

Of course, I'm still roasting marshmallows in camp "Why wasn't all of this in the game prior to release?"

Make backups of your game saves before doing the beta when its released. My saves almost became corrupted once already, beta not included....

I mean they want us to help beta test it... with all the issues this game has and has had, I'm half expecting my computer to literally explode as the patch installs, let alone even play it.

It won't be pretty. I'm expecting the worst to be honest.

Honestly that is borderline mental disorder type talk there...

These people are suppose to be professionals, maybe its a good thing devs stopped talking here...

I'd be more accurate in saying that campaigning for romance of someone who looks like a 14-year old, is beyond borderline, and that your type of comment is partially why the devs nowadays are less eager to attempt to communicate here (many previously did so on their free time). Not as many players will be interested in romancing someone less physically appealing and I personally would prefer fewer, but deeper romances. It makes perfect sense from a resource allocation point of view.

I agree that DanteYoda's comment is rather rude, David Gaider has the right to express his opinion after all and there's nothing in any of his posts that is even close to "mental". He doesn't have to be all "professional" anyway, and I'd rather he remain casual with us.

However, for the devs to shy away from fans based on a few destructive comments is just - pffft. If they are doing that - all I can say is harden up - it's the fking internet!

Devs have better things to do with their time rather than to get dragged into fruitless debates. Besides, I think creativity will suffer under the ever more toxic environment that is the internet. But I definitely wouldn't mind having more community managers around keeping some semblance of communication going.

Yeah, Inquisition is coming to PC, it will soon be in beta phase for polishing and you even get extra features like character recustomization. And you dont even need to pay for the polishing.

Maybe if they hadn't wasted time on that Arena/Horde mode DAMP just to enable EA to slide in MT's then they would have had time to fix the bugs its about getting their priorities straight and making sure the game is as bug free as possible is more important than a mode that wasn't even required in order to meet EA's "all our games must have a online component" mantra.

What worries me the most, is if a good deal complain parts aren't needed they may remove stuff or take longer to release it to us..

We honestly don't know who got into the beta (if they even have yet) and some here in the forums have very odd priorities over others...like the game would be poorer for more customization or similar...

I understand, and i later found out its a very old post but still excluding a races romance because developers have perceived issues about something that honestly is wrong, that was a very silly thing to say, and maybe my mental line was too.

But Dwarves very seldom look like 14 year old, a young Dwarf looks like an old human... Elves on the other hand and they get relationships...

You are right his comment angered me too much, i have since edited it to be less offensive, my apologies.
