Just remember that you were labeled as a Bio-fanboy....

And you STILL confuse me with someone else, I see....

Everyone that knows me here will testify to how much I am NOT a fanboy of Bioware, so let's just cut that false accusation out, shall we?

You and I both know that; kinda why I am still so amused by this earlier post:

Haters gonna hate, Dubya75,
but to me all youve written sounds like "bla, bla, bla .."

You could even understand properly that my son represents most of the actual generation that will know bioware and ea for this last game (aside he IS the most important costumer to my money, get it?). You have a huge problem of understanding ... and a poor vision about children education ...

but ... keep going your pro bioware rant ... maybe you will receive some free dlc for "colaboration".

Hahahaha, yeah I bet they are programming with a controller in hand like you say! That would definitely explain a lot, wouldn't it!

And yes, Frostbite 3 is a 1st person shooter engine with pretty graphics and some cool destruction abilities. It was NEVER intended to me more than that - but then...shooter games are big on KB&M so again, the apparent inability to bind commands to mouse buttons does not make any sense at all.
With the help of the people who actually created the engine, they still can't get something like this to work, even though it was DEFINITELY done for games like BF4....

Highest level of incompetence, right there!

Either intentional incompetence or unintended incompetence or actual decisions made by the execs - I don't know. But yeah if BF can do a mouse DAI should be able to. But then some of the design decisions have me scratching my head: open world game but still mages stands to cast instead of running and casting at the same time, using the backward key actually means turning you back to the enemy- works fine in a smaller hallway type game but in DAI doesn't work well. Oh then theres the MMO revive action. Too much of a mixture of everything thrown into the game.

That's why I thought you guys should go for the beta testing even if its closed - Bioware could benefit from people who do know.

Sorry, I think I'm still heartbroken.

I was thinking... what if to communicate with dev we need a secret language, code or encryption? Maybe they are playing a huge worldwide RPGs with the consumers, we just didn't realize it.

Indeed, it is absolutely inconceivable how they arrive at some of the incredibly dumb design choices, not to mention inconsistencies between controller and KB&M interfaces, for example.

And there is one little thing that really irks me more than anything.....

BIOWARE, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!!

Controller interface - toon is able to walk, jog & run

KB&M interface - toon is able to walk, jog and run (after we had to beg for it)

Controller interface - abilities (i.e. screen clutter) is hidden outside of combat

KB&M interface - abilities hotbar is PERMANENTLY visible

And what in the name of all that is holy is all that rubbish in my KB&M hotbar? Why do I need a massive pause button that I NEVER EVER USE? Or the search icon or the useless mount call icon? Why do I need a massive HOLD icon and all that rubbish present when it could have been filled with more abilities instead?

WHY IN GOD'S NAME am I being so severely disadvantages JUST BECAUSE of the limitations with controllers? I AM NOT PLAYING WITH A CONTROLLER!!!

Damnit Bioware, you frustrate your PC fans to no end!

I think it was more of a joke. That they seem to be so utterly incompetent that their incompetence can only be perceived as intended at this point. Maybe they are secretly trying to bring down EA financially or something. They're actually doing a decent job of that too when you stop and think about it hahaha. Especially that SWTOR mmo. Man, that's sad.

Some of their design decisions and gameplay decisions are that bad, even the story writing seems questionable at best. Mass effect 2 shepard robot and no liara, Dragon age 2, mass effect 3 ending, inquisitions warden stuff. It's just bad.

its no surprise why dragon age 2 and inquisition suck so badly. the damn director for origins doesn't even work for bioware. He left/quit after that project.

The sad part is the same people who made that disaster dragon age 2 still work for bioware I think. They should have been fired.

Stupidity.

Or at least put them on a project they enjoy doing, i understand AAA companies are hard on their staff, i've seen the horror stories come out of Glassdoor about companies pushing their staff to breaking point, i'm sure its a hard and sometimes horrible job, but remember the fans buy their products and don't personally hate them, they are just upset and angry, their product doesn't work i'm sure they'd be pissed if they bought stuff broken and can't do anything with it...

I also believe the holiday period of silence didn't help at all..

I was thinking... what if to communicate with dev we need a secret language, code or encryption? Maybe they are playing a huge worldwide RPGs with the consumers, we just didn't realize it.

Competence or incompetence?

Console players that bought The Order: 1866

CEO of Ready at Dawn Ru Weerasuriya refused to clarify average playtime for the game, and said his team was not going to discuss length despite videos on YouTube showing the entire game completed in 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Talk about paying the full price for the game!! And I heard oh.. so much about it..... again, fooled by marketing

As bad as video game marketing is, it's still no where bad as infomercials. But, it is getting really freaking close to infomercial levels.

5 hours? how much did they pay?
Learned my lesson - no preorders anymore. Though preordered TW3 (last year before preordered DAI) but have lowered my expectations and more wary now.

For some reason this reminds me of an episode of Gilligan's Island in which his then nemesis (a Russian spy I believe) concluded that Gilligan must be some kind of genius/mastermind because ... "No one can be THAT stupid!"

Even allowing that they "ran out of time" can someone explain to me how they didn't have enough time to put a storage chest in Skyhold?

Does it get any simpler than that?

But yeah, these new guys at new bioware totally lost it, they are too incompetent even for making mouse button binds. Are they programming with a controller in hand or what? xD

I think it's clear now that these new guys didn't "lose" anything because close to all of them (the designers who made the decisions) are strictly from console production backgrounds.

As Shelled states,

Either way the main reason why we will never get a game like origins again and why they will never live up to any promises with both great gameplay and a great story is because many of the people who worked on origins don't even work for bioware anymore, including the lead director. The director left with others who worked on origins and have been making this instead http://www.ign.com/a...-coming-in-2015

I think the bottom line is none of the people who designed the m&kb interface for Dragon Age Inquisition had any actual experience designing games for mouse and keyboard.

I seem to remember thinking this same thing back in August...

Well we know the moderators read the stuff we post because my rant on mealy faced HR taking my cussing out got me a removal of the post I made here from PC concerns where I had copied it and A warning> OMFGod, a warning.   So here is the post I made that was deleted by the moderator with me changing the cuss words so they are not so offended.

@Matrix I care about the subtitles I am deaf. I can not hear what the ambient crap is going on around me in the game. In every other Ubisoft game, I could adjust the subtitles for my game style. I do play sometimes with my BAHA hearing implant in. But that is a whole issue I save for PVP in Fallen Earth.  I have to run the sound thru a Blue tooth adapter and to the implant in my head just to yell at teammates in our teamspeak to (insert cuss word)strafe right, clear my line of sight, do crossheals and for (insert cuss word) sake toss some Dots and AOE out.  I gave up on Bioware, they will never fix the DAI to be like the controls of DA. It will never happen.  All the things in patch 5 are (insert cuss word) we asked for  like a (insert cuss word) storage chest. (insert cuss word) we asked for on and Before November 19 of LAST year.  They are adding the Emporium because we asked for it, Not because they wanted it in the game.  They are unable to re code DAI from the mess it is to DAO type combat. That will never happen either. Best we can hope for is Mods on Nexus to break the game and fix it to a new game.   I just want a (Insert cuss word) RPG game I can play on my computer for my game time, not some silly  childs game that is dumbed down for the mass of idiots that call themselves gamers now a days.

As an edit note I want a (insert cuss word) PC game I can move the subtitles, mini map and HUD to a 2nd monitor. I have 3,  27 inch monitors on my system and the fact that developers won't make me a game I want to play the way I want to it...well I tell my IT sons to make "Mom" a game the way she wants it and Ill call it payment for me paying for their college.
As a 3rd edit, I am 47 (insert cuss words that begin with a F) years old and if I want to (insert more cuss words) I shouldnt have some mealy faced nerd in HR blocking my cussing out.

as a 4th edit     They should focus the game on one type of system not trying to make one game that is for every system. That never works out. If they had said we wont have a PC version ready until next spring, I would have gladly waited for a good game.

This is very likely, based on what we've seen thus far, including what I've read from other posters who met the new team. "Cultural disconnect", perhaps even a "generation gap". Speaking of the "console generation" there are many young PC gamers but it seems they didn't get the job. Considering DA's success on the console market however I'm sure HR is pleased with themselves and this won't change.

The suggestions people have made are not exactly extravagant, it's either industry standard PC controls or controls that already existed in past DA games for PC. We shouldn't have to spell it out for them but we are, and they are having alot of difficulty implementing them. Just treat "Bioware" as you would a JRPG company - expect console ports.

From looks of things too the majority of the team has already been reallocated by EA, to them, the product is shipped, now to cut costs for post-release support since they spent a huge amount for marketing. It's typical of them to go big on marketing then to have budget QA. For an AAA title their patching process is very shocking, but it's typical EA. I still remember on R2TW's launch it was absolutely unplayable, but in 3 months it was already a different game thanks to the very active team - and as an apology they gave fans who pre-ordered Empire Edition for free which is pretty much another game. I was already playing after 1 week post launch - not to mention the amount of mods that picked up CA's slack such as STIM (so they got away with alot of crap thanks to mod support like Bethesda)

DA doesn't have the luxury of a sizable post-release team or supported moddability. We're using CE and AHS to fix the controls but even then modders are still figuring it out while the game is fighting against them at the same time. It's just a mess. Patch 5 beta will help keep the product from major oversights from now on (if they continue public betas), but in the end I don't see DAI being PC-friendly until late 2015 or 2016. Folks should move on to other games for now, maybe come back when it's all done.
