DAMN - Ive been on Vacation and didn't know about this beta patch  :(

Why the NDA? I don't care about "new " features they don't want to spoil, I want my spoiled $80 game to come back and redeem itself

So...... can we at least say If im an SLI  user, will I finally get to enjoy my game I payed $80 for? I cant see how anyone telling me that my money wasn't wasted is breaking some silly NDA .

You owe me Bioware , one $80 game that doesn't have a horrific texture flicker or a blinding white fog . You have my money, I want my game, that was our deal

As I'm not an SLI user myself I cannot confirm personally. But there have been a few users in the beta patch forum confirming that SLI/crossfire x users are going to rejoice after this next patch :)

So in short, it's looking hopeful that you will. But that being said everyone's system and set-up is a unique experience unto itself.

I do not get the hate for the beta program - its what many of us have asked for!

And it doesn't jeopardise other players experience - it only improves on it.

As for the auto-attack failing, seriously they need to lock the team in a room and force them to play DA2/DAO using KB+M

They just need to add the tac cam functionalities (auto-attack/click to move/interact) into the action cam.

How does auto-attack beta work without click to move anyway?

Regardless I'm glad at least several members here are in the beta, I missed the window earlier to join due to work, so I hope you guys can guide them to fixing this console port.

This last 500 pages are about asking developers to put a bonus room in skyhold with chest and let the players beta test it? The beta test is for testing something that does not concern the pc community concerns. Its that simple. More bonus (?) content for the console players who are already happy with the unfinished **** they got. Let me know when they implement the rpg combat into the game, that would be something.

What has changed since DAO that you cannot talk to a party member? That annoyed the hell out of me in DA2 as well.

In my mind that is what makes an RPG, (Role Playing!). Its Dragon Age, not Quake. I guess with the concentration on FPS that goes by the board.

The people in your party are part of the action too. Sure there is banter, if it fires, but I should be able to initiate conversation as well. If your team succeeds at a task, why can't you congratulate them? Maybe that would help with approval too?

On another issue, I am half way through DAI playing with a mod that removes Cassandra's male only gate. Completely different. Dialogue feels so much better, I wonder if that was the original intent.

Just rambling, waiting for the patch! haha

I think the answer clearly is the writing.

Mr. Gaider's domain.

Meaning, in Origins, that's why there was so much conversation available. They simply wrote enough content and backstory to fill out every companions dialog tree. If you remember, those options could all be exhausted to a degree, and some trees only showed up once you passed certain points in the game, etc.

It was very detailed and enjoyable to explore.

Now, understand I have not yet personally experienced the game so I could be way off, but if you're strictly asking why can't you sit there and go through all the dialog trees with companions like you could in Origins, - from an outside perspective - the only 2 possible reasons are the writing dept. did not write all that dialog, or they did and Bio had the data to plug into the game, but management decided, "Eh, we don't need this fluff".

Any chance of getting that from you since it's been pulled from nexus?

I don't think the problem is that there isn't enough dialogue, it's just that you can only talk to your party members at your base camp, not while you are out exploring. I think the problem here as with nearly everything wrong with this game is that since you can't select party members when playing on a console they never wrote code for clicking on a party member anywhere but base camp. Remember, if consoles can't do, DAI doesn't do it.

Sure. One thing tho, warning! You lose spoken dialogue where it should be male voiced. Rest plays out great! Cassandra has a really good story line. Love her.

I will send to you. You have email? Its only 7kb

My game was completely stable (no crashes) until, I think, patch 3 came out. Now it is crashing and causing my machine to close down every few minutes. I have emptied the cache, reloaded the game twice and lost all my saves in my efforts to get it to work, but I can't stop the patches coming through. I just want to know if the patch now in beta will address this issue which is a game-breaker. At this stage, I don't care about additional content, I just want to be able to play the game I paid for.

*sits patiently waiting for the fix for the bug that changed his Inquisitors voice... the one that was "fixed" in Patch 2 but really not really*

Well... may one day complete a playthrough of this game. After that I'm done though, and I'm not paying for a single DLC. I'm already done with ME after the absolute garbage that was Casey Hudson's ending. DAMP is a pile of dung compared to the ME3 MP, which was actually really well done.

I don't trust EAware with any new IP, so that's not going to be a concern, and my only reason to return to swtor at all is a friend that just bought a new computer that can finally run it that wants to play. He also gives up on games after about a month. So EA may be getting about $15 from me for a one month sub, and then that's it.

Sinceriously though, how great does that new D&D game look? And the Witcher... oh I can't wait to play a new game that isn't a POS.

On the bright side, after the Shadowrun games, I've dusted off the old copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I forgot how much I loved this game. They really need to make the next one...

This was tough. I'm gonna chalk this up to bargaining I guess. I forget the stages.

Day 563

There was a disagreement. The din and fires continue their path towards us. Unfortunately I heard a car horn yesterday while hunting. Too afraid to investigate. Like a coward I carefully made my way back to the house. This pensiveness drowns me. I wish and hope against my better judgment that it will be fine. The others feel it is time to move. If only temporarily. But Sara and Simon...

Sara is pregnant. Not too far in, but she's afraid to leave even with the looming risk. If not now than when? Simon I believe reticently defends her decision but I am overwhelmed with this polarizing notion that we should leave all the same. The house, the garden - the markers. They are things at this point. I'm doing a halfhearted job to convince Sara and myself that it's the right thing to do. I fear that once again a decision will be made wherein I am unerringly irrelevant.

I think about what'll happen to this place in our absence. Wonder if we'll even come back. I'll pay my respects to Paul's marker while I have time. We could really use his courage right now.

Hey guys, reading over the last few pages trying to get an understanding on what Patch 5 might bring. Are we expecting patch 5 to bring the kb & mouse controls we have all been waiting for, such as click-to-move etc?

This game has pretty much confirmed in my mind that I will mostly stick to Indie titles from here on out.  The "AAA" gaming industry has basically ruined gaming, IMO.  It's now a business solely focused on making profit at the expense of real quality.  This game was released forever ago now and all of the crap that was originally wrong with it, is still wrong with it and in some cases, it is actually worse.  No thanks.

I'm expecting that Patch 5 will bring balloons and cotton candy and rainbows and unicorns.  Maybe a few small ponies and licorice and ice cream cones.  Then, kittens and puppies and goldfish in bowls.  Followed by lies, lies, misinformation, unthruths and more lies.  Booware/EA know how to PROMISE....they just don't know how to deliver upon that.

We don't know how it has to be implemented in the engine, perhaps, to avoid confusing the engine and, prevent other issues it takes more trial and error to add that. It will come, give them time to get ti worked out so that it works properly when they do implement it.

Stuff that should have been in game at launch....3 months ago. no excuses or explanation will ever change this. Technical glitches happen in a game of this size and scope. But poor management, development, and implementation of basic features is really inexcusable.

You don't trust them enough to pay for a new game, yet you'll still give them $15/12 subscription to have the privilege of unifying the colour of your armor? If you were really done you'd just roll FTP or preferred. Either way, until you stop buying into their subscription/micotransaction format. EA will be sitting here like this.

I just caught up on Game of Thrones to the end of season 4, then played the first two episodes of Telltale's Game of Thrones. That's definitely not a POS.

May I also recommend;

Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Telltale's The Walking Dead (s1&2), The Witcher 1&2 or this new episodic game that's just released its first episode, Life Is Strange. All of these games give you choice-based paths to explore and create to (arguably) greater effect or consequence than that of their new-age BioWare counterpart.

The future looks bright for choice-based games and non-linear, compelling story-driven experiences. Sadly I don't see BioWare at the forefront of that any more.

Ah, I see.

I was looking at it from purely a content perspective.

It's not. Plenty of content.

The issue is how the game is staged--which will become apparent to you when you do play.

Frankly, this "no talking outside certain areas" has been a "thing" since the awakening EP. Sad.

I allways laugh when I see that "the walking dead" game was so much better and gives choises that Bioware does not provide.  After The lesser DA2 I bought "the walking dead" because it was hyped then on these boards aswell.  Needless to say I ran back to DA2 screeming even if it is a lesser Bioware game.  There is no choise and no gameplay to be had.  Its just story like television, nothing more, oh yeay every so often you can interact pushing a button so not completly like television!!

EA and Bioware are far from perfect but to date I don't find all that over hyped indie that good.  As a belgian I bought divinity original sin, good gameplay but for the rest boring as hell an therefore never finished the game.  I am glad others are happy with the multitude of games they can choose out, diversity is good but the bashing on these boards is tiresome.  Lots of people write they are going to move along but never seem to do so.

Because you can't select a companion with a console. So we have to endure this WoW wannabee. Thank you lead designer!

All the spark went out of immersion after Origin. I remember being shocked that you could not talk to Isabela outside of the Hanged Man. You could talk to Leliana in Origins anywhere. This game is no better. Companions don't show up on the minimap either, unless they are in combat! They are available to display, why not show them? Same with the "V" key, its all there, why not show it and free up the slot? But it is too hard to learn to play or so we have been told!!!

Give me a break! All this hoohah about a storage chest. OMG. Just increase the inventory size!! Then you don't need a chest. Add extra perks for f* sake.

I have 1000 inventory and it is so different to play. Do the dungeon then sort it out at skyhold! You can't sort your inventory anyway.
