KilrB, EA knows that if Bioware would have given us a "fair warning and an explanation", they wouldn't have received all our pre-order money to begin with...
It's always been about the money, and consoles = money.

LMFAO (hysterically for a while)....
Bioware is having trouble with Frostbite, so after 4 YEARS THEY STILL CAN'T PROVIDE REBINDABLE MOUSE BUTTONS even when other games USING FROSTBITE already has it implemented??? The people who CREATED the damn engine is a phone call away!!!
And on top of that, MODDERS are able to make more progress in 3 months' time with VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE with Frostbite compared to these incompetent developers, using 3RD PARTY TOOLS cobbled together in their free time???
Never in my entire life have I seen such incompetence in implementing BASIC and STANDARD features for a ****** PC game - stuff you get in ALL PC GAMES SINCE THE ****** STONE AGE!!!
Oh no....they are all sitting on their hands with their thumbs pointing upwards.
Honestly, the lack of proficiency and general competence Bioware is exhibiting makes me want to DIE!!!
... and understand this guys, this is from somebody who's had time to interact with the beta and the programmers at Bioware.
Sheesh.
Console games generally have functions you can't rebind. But DA:I is totally not a console game guys. Totally made for PC guys.
Did someone drop you on your head from 50,000ft or were you just born with idiocy ? Newsflash ! rebindable keys does not a PC Game make. But judging from your statement your either a Bioware/EA employee,or someone who wouldn't know a PC Game if it jumped in their face and said Boo.

Too true and no argument from me ... just wanted to get it off my chest.

You need to get your "sarcasm meter" re-calibrated Jim.
He's on our side.
Unless it's my meter that needs to be checked ...

Nah, you got it right.

A very realistic assessment of the current state of affairs, indeed.
I would also remind the "hopeful ones" that there is traditionally only a small window of "game fixes" before the developer abandons any attempts at "fixing" the game any further. We are approaching the end of that window and I believe it is Bioware's intention to make the next patch the last one.
So if mouse mappings, UI improvements and general optimizations for PC (and all the other things the Pc community is hoping for) don't make it into this patch, it will never happen. Even if they keep harping on about how they are continuing to find ways to improve the PC experience, it is nothing but hot air with the hope things will eventually just die down - and it will.
For it is not a matter of "finding ways" to implement a proper KB&M scheme into a game. This is 2015 - you either do it or you don't.
Bioware is NOT going to do it. This was quite clear since day 1.
And Dragon Age 4 (likely to be a full-on MMO) won't be any better.
If you look back, Bioware is not "progressing" the PC experience, they are in fact, phasing it out.
This is the reality of the matter. I believe that any enhancements we see for this game will be a big defining factor for the future of this franchise on PC.
I agree that EA is phasing out the PC experience with Bioware and DAI is a perfect example of this.
What would happen, if all PC users km + m, suddenly stopped buying EA games???
I'm sure that would effect their sales......only then, would EA take it seriously and make their games PC ready.
I also agree that DA4 will be console only and MMO......and the Dragon Age series will be totally lost at that point.
What we're hearing so far has me hopeful, particularly the "less crashing" part.
I appreciate that we are able to get an "overall" from our beta testers.
If EAware wants an NDA, that's their business and those who signed on with it need to respect that.
We are at a point now where we, the PC gamers, are possibly damned if we do and certainly damned if we don't.
We either participate in and/or support this beta test and accept whatever comes of it, or we doom ourselves to being totally disregarded from now on.
I am glad that something, anything, is finally being done to address the problems and deficiencies of DA:I.
Will we get everything we've wanted? Certainly not, but it sounds as though most/some of the more important issues are being addressed.
However, like many, I am a still bit put-out by the fact that we are having to do EAware's job for them several months after release.
They are supposed to be a AAA developer ... right?
And as far as getting "people hyped for specifics that might not make it at all or, might be different when it's released" goes ... is that not exactly what they did to us pre-release?
Hey EAware, I'm an adult. I can handle a little disappointment, just give me some fair warning and an explanation.
Don't lie to me, then give me the silent treatment for weeks, and then try to blame me for the problems you created.
You are correct, they did reveal things in Alpha phase that were drastically changed or, removed before release and, you saw the "brown stuff" storm that has caused. I'm sure they don't want to make that mistake a second time.
As I have said in other threads, the patch is looking good. I know that it won't please 100% of you on 100% of what you want - that's impossible, they will never please 100% of the people 100% of the time but, the patch is a good thing as is the beta program. Hopefully we will be able to beta test future patches and/or new content and, keep making the game better for everyone until it's time for DA4 to begin.
Initially the key concerns addressed here http://blog.bioware....black-emporium/ also stated rebindable mouse-buttons. I'm guessing it was removed since Bioware is having trouble with Frostbite. They said they're still working on it since they know it's important for the PC community, so call me a dreamer but I still have my hopes up.
Funny thing, mouse buttons are rebindable in BF4, that's like, the first frostbite 3 game ever. Maybe Bioware should pay Dice a visit, to see how it's done.
Indeed it is funny, isn't it...

When walking in an rpg gets overlooked there is really nothing surprising beyond that. When i arrived to the first ladder in the game ive spent like 15 minutes searching for the toggle in the menus. I could not accept it was not there i had to overlook it i thought. This game was ported to PC in the last minutes.
It is very obvious to me that it was a design decision to create DAI as it is. However, we do know now that was a huge mistake.
Designing the game limiting yourself to only console features is a recipe for disaster. This is where we are at the moment.
Regardless of the complexity of frostbyte, to not have room to implement KB & M was very short sighted.
There are very few options in DAI. Do I want to do that quest? There is no NO! NO is not a dirty word, it is ok to say "NO, I don't want to chase bottles".
So much dialogue is missing numbers for the choices? Just use the radial wheel? KB not implemented. 'ConceptMenuAlt" for FS.
I could rant for quite some time!
It is OK to say "Feature not implemented!". But the skeleton is missing so many bones it may never be fleshed out and walk.
I do think the game is terminal, but I am sitting by the bed and praying for a miracle.

True, but their BIG mistakes were not simply that they changed and/or removed some features but that they:
1. Did not tell us they had changed and/or removed them so as not to hurt pre-order sales.
2. Lied by omission, obfuscation and inference about many of the games features ... "back to our roots", etc. ..
Yes, that is a matter of opinion but an opinion many of us share.
3. Outright lied to us ... "by PC gamers for PC gamers", etc. ...
Now, while there would undoubtedly have been backlash over the changes and removals no matter what, it would not have been nearly so vehement had they been honest and open with us from the beginning.
Patch 5 will smooth some ruffled feathers but the lies will take a very long time to forgive, if ever.
At least the future kb+m controls for melee character should be better : I don't see how they could make it worse ![]()
JPR out!

Though, still valid enough... What they said may still feel true to them, as it's still possible to play the game on PC properly, by their opinion. What's being said ain't said as a fact, in it's way it's an opinion, and that can never be said to be right or wrong... Wrong for you and me perhaps, but right for them and many others who still play the game on PC.
I too want better controls and so for PC, make it feel more like DA:O did. But this hostility some of you have... Nothing good will come out of it, it'll probably mostly consume yourself in rage than being helpful for the game, while also hurting others feelings along the way. It may, or it may not, but you can put in some negative feedback without calling the guy/girl who made it dumb. Is he/she really dumb for having a different opinion than you?
Also take this for a read, might help you folks some: http://kotaku.com/fi...unti-1687510871
And remember to breath... Hopefully everything will be all fine in due time. I'm as excited to play a patched up "DA:O like" patch as you, but It takes time and causes we can't possible know for sure. Everything ain't all clear cut...
Just felt like saying after seeing all this, while I try to follow up on an update for this patch. No hard feelings, have a good one!
In DAI, one can more accurately steer the character, as opposed to Skyrim, the ME series, and SWTOR, at least for myself.
Steering, unlike swooping is good, but trying to land a blow on enemies others than dragon, is quite a challenge for a melee character : in fact, it's the worse from the serie... As I already said many times : even DA2 is an ungodly amount better than DAI for melee fight gameplay.
In DAI trying to land a twin fang attack in stealth mode from the back is quite frustating : it misses a lot, and for unknown reason...
JPR out!
Ps : never had a problem with ME and SWTOR : you cannot really miss at same level unless you're running away from a fight... If you're gonna do mmo style control, do it completely and not a half tested console gameplay port on PC...

I believe Bioware is doing the best they can under the given circumstances. At launch I felt like PC drew the short straw compared to XONE and PS4, but the game has improved on PC, and if it continues to improve we'll end up with a great platform for playing Dragon Age ![]()
Finally found a perfect fix for this game! The bad thing is that you have to repeat the process everytime you open it =(
Anyway...
1. Open Origin.
2. Open Dragon Age Inquisition.
3. Close Dragon Age Inquisition.
4. Open Dragon Age: Origins.
Notice that is very important that everytime you open Dragon Age Inquisition you close it. For the fix to work you have to close Inquistion as soon as you can and then open Dragon Age: Origins. It works with other games too, I didn't make a full list yet, perhaps there is one in the internet. Heard the final fix comes this year, please visit the site https://swordcoast.com/for updates on Inquisition final patch. Anyway, step 3 is the most important to fix the game, if you skip it you risk completely spoiling your game experience.
Is he/she really dumb for having a different opinion than you?
That really depends on the opinion; some are legitimately stupid.

Five Thing I Didn't Get About Making Video Games (Until I Did It)
Nice read.
Are you trying to tell us that NONE of the people who worked on DA:I had ever worked on a video game before?
... that would certainly explain a lot.
