This is not really a "Pc Community Concerns" issue, is it?

Then does the Keep have a forum?

"What do you mean it's not fully operational?" said the Darth Darrah. "This station was supposed to be ready by November 19th!"

"Yes, I know, and we're going forward with the launch date," responded the Sith Lord known only as EA. "We have fanatics on our side. They will keep the rebels from the PC Community Concerns busy with jibber-jabber."

"Jibber-jabber?" asked Darth Darrah. "Right. So, when will we be fully operational?"

Darth Darrah hears only an evil laugh from the Sith Lord before the vidcom goes silent.

All three Frostbite class starships were released on the same day and the galaxy cheered.

These three starships, named Greed, Arrogance and Apathy were at least five times bigger than his own Imperial Command Ship. These Super Star Destroyers impressed the galaxy media outlets so much that they all but hailed the new class of ships as game-changers. The mass media forgot about its integrity and declared the Empire the true victors of the galaxy.

Then it became abundantly clear to the galaxy that the Apathy was far from being finished as its two other kin. The vessel still had no steering or tactical assets that were worth noting. It was still flyable, but is it worth finishing after four years, four months and counting? Is this all that's needed to truly conquer the galaxy?

Darth Darrah paces the new floor of his Imperial Command Ship. It's quite new with a very plush red rug covering his pathway to his cabin. He looks around his personal quarters and sees the finest furnishings from around the galaxy adorning his room. For the life of him, he cannot recall the simpler days as a budding Jedi. He then sees a a small droid named "PC" scurrying on the floor and zaps it with blue lightning. He grins broadly and remembers why he chose the Sith way.

He sends out a broadcast to his ship, "Prepare my personal shuttle. I want every programmer available on my ship."

Darth Darrah approaches his personal shuttle and sees one lone enigneer standing by.

The programmer named "Intern" stood at attention, sort of. He was looking at his smartphone having a textual conversation with his co-dependent girfriend.

Darth Darrah throws an invisible choke-hold on the programmer and asks, "Where is everyone else?"

Through a muffled choke the engineer says, "On... vacation..."

Darth Darrah drops the programmer and facepalms himself.

I supposed I had best get to the galley, Darth Darrah is sure to need sustenance after such a trying day.

Oh, apologies my lord, there does not seem to be a proper path to the galley and, the only spatula I could use is stuck inside a wall. I'm afraid the replicators are also offline until further notice. Perhaps Intern can repair one of those things this month?

Darth Darrah instructs the lone programmer to hitch a ride on another ship and head to the Apathy.

"I will have new orders for you once I consult our Sith Lord. Do not.. fail... me..," said Darth Darrah.

He returns to his opulent cabin and gets on bended knee before opening the vidcom.

On the other end of the vidcom, a full party is on at EA HQ. The music is blaring, confetti is falling, the air is smokey and a repeating chant of "We are #1!"

At a closer inspection of the vidcom, the confetti is actual money. Money from all over the galaxy is pouring into the HQ at a rate that makes the greediest of the greediest look on with envy.

"Uh, my lord?" asked Darth Darrah.

The music grinds to a halt. Silence is now only heard from the other end. Into views comes the Sith Lord. "Yes.... Darrah? What is it?"

"My lord we have a slight problem with the Apathy. It's not fully operational yet... it requires... more engineers and licensed products. It's all so corporate these days."

Lord Sith moves the vidcom to show four Jedi knights in front of XBOX and SONY consoles. These critics of the Evil Empire found themselves bounded to console controllers. They were moved into questioning their role in the universe. Are they Jedis or Sith apprentices? The first is Boogie9288. He quietly gives his approval over to EA. The second is Rageholic. He sits there stunned behind his sunglasses and forgives EA. The third is AngryJoe. He knows that the Apathy is unfinished, but nods his head to EA. The last is Jim Sterling. He throws down his controller and gets lost in satire.

The vidcom is moved back to show the Sith Lord himself.

"Don't worry," said the leadership of the Empire. "We have it all under control. Also, do not fear the rebels in the PC Community Concerns. I have a dark plan already in place for them."

"Yes, my Lord." replied Darth Darrah. "Thank you for..."

Lord Darrah's last statement was interrupted with loud music from the vidcom. An unrecognizable voice in the background yells, "Iron Bull... oh its good to be me!"

Actually, I have decided EA (along with other like-minded AAA companies, but, frankly, EA have led this shining stampede into gaming devolution) are brilliant. Clearly, genuisii. Because what they have done--has worked.

The very number of people prepared to defend shoddy workmanship and broken releases as "merely disappointing" and "the norm"  is a clear indication of how far our standards for games have lowered over the last 30 years. For new gen-players, it actually is the norm.

The "just plug in a controller" mob are the final straw.

Have that mod!

It's very good, better than what was supplied to us!

Can BW supply anything that won't be topped by a modder?

I can't get over how beautiful this is:

I'm a deliberate non-adopter of early mods, but I think I will make an exception.

What in the devil does being a "plot oriented gamer" have to do with not being able to play a game that you spent money on and that each patch continually breaks?  Good, great...you haven't had technical issues.  Guess what, others of us have.

[snip because I can, at least, technically play--AMD card, see--so doesn't apply to me. I feel for you, though, Harbinger]

I have never used TacCam.  But I understand their frustration.  I tried KB/M, what a fuster cluck.  But don't sit here and play apologist and tell people to stop complaining.  That. Will. Not.  Happen.  We are paying customers.  We have concerns for our PC version.  And we are voicing those concerns whether you agree with them or not.  If you don't, then as my old pappy would say:  If you ain't got somethin' nice to say, then shut it.

Indeed. Can't agree more.

And I am also a "plot oriented gamer". To the nth degree. Pedantically so. Internal inconsistencies shyte me to... never mind.

Cyan can tell you. I hope he doesn't, but he can. ;)

Being "plot oriented" doesn't mean I can't also see that if some bits of a game are broken, they're, uh, broken. Including, btw, some of the minor plot triggers--on PC only (as far as I can tell). Even some I didn't know of, because [number redacted] they have suddenly appeared on my War Table on the beta, for previous run-throughs I'd finished and am now testing with. (I hadn't realised one of the Solas personal Questline War Table triggers fixed in Patch 3 was broken, either, so kind of like that).

Also, Cyan, just read through your Darth Darrah story. Brava. :D

I'm awestruck sometimes...at the level of linguistic expertise that fellow bloggers are capable of.  I sit back and read...sometimes from another computer if I've been banned....but still...WOW.  You all amaze me.  I'm a better person, and smarter for being here,, frustrations and all.  I don't enjoy being cheated by Boooware/EA, but I do actually enjoy any dialogue with people HERE.  I tried to make it a point to read this thread everyday.  I have a vested interest in this game, but I'm really proud of our intellectual posters. PC Gamers just know their ****.

Installed the NVidia 347.52 whql drivers "clean install" and I still get the occasional CTD.

So I doubt its NVidia's whql drivers.

Bioware needs to seriously patch DAI for consoles and PC users......

That's what the Moderator posted to me.  So typing "$h!t" is breaking that supposed rule that Moderator 03 made up.  I'm going to be banned for a week for posting this....mostly because the Moderators here can't reason and logic is foreign to them.

When I was banned for a week for trying to help/instruct a player how to get unstuck from a tight mountain pass.....that told me that Moderators HERE don't comprehend anything.  There is a lack of knowledge.  Comprehension is gone.  Boooware/EA - Your Moderators here are off base.  They need to be reigned in.  They don't understand WHAT is offensive and what other people get.
