Well this is BS tried a controller because the mouse and keyboard controls sucks and it don't even work as the mapping is wrong. I ask the tech support to send the feedback to EA and see what they make of it.

Independent tilt. As in tilt without the camera throwing itself into the ground.

Even if they had to put the camera on fixed arc for controller limitations, I can't imagine why the fully zoomed out view needed to be pointing straight down. A fully zoomed out 30 degree angle would be useful far more often than a fully zoomed out straight down angle.

The point is that you should be in control of whatever angle you want or however much tilt you want. In FULL control of it. I don't know what these people were thinking with this tactical cam though, because in its current state it is a horrible frustration to use.

Guess I'd better go and start the game again. Spend all my time reading the forums!

57 pages now. And only 1 response from BW. Not high level either.

Starting to get worried.

I get it, I do. But being a part of EA entails alot of political pressures we as PC gamers can't understand. We want what we want, and we SHOULD want it, but PC gamers are going to the wayside when Sony and Microsoft pay the big bucks. Yes, they said this would be more PC oriented, and not like DA2, and they achieved that. The story is there, and the twirling whirling foofoo fighting has been cut back alot since DA2. As for modding, I loved mods for DAO. I forgot what the vanilla game was like, but thats a limitation of the Frostbite engine and again, if Sony and Microsoft want it to be so, so it'll be done. People are creative and it's only been a week. Give it some time. The game is playable as is and will be a whole new and better experience in future playthroughs.

Controllers for the PC don't even work for me. They really want to troll PC gamers.

Maybe but their strategy is in motion for years. They have to go until the very end.

EA would like to have a word for them if they don't produce enough profits due to their PC sucks reputation.

Of course you should, but even with a fixed trajectory I don't know how they would ever decide this was the optimal trajectory to go for. The fully zoomed out straight down view is completely useless, and especially so at the start of a fight when you need it most.

As much as people want full cam control, I bet they'd be getting far less complaints if the fixed trajectory had ended at isometric rather than top down.

(remember ME2 & ME3 anyone ?)

Oh and the fact that sells are not so much higher than DA2 prove our point. People don't trust in Bioware anymore....

Well, I agree with almost everything you say - almost, as I think ME2 was great (better than 1 - yes, the story had not that grand a scale, but how it was told was much better and the gameplay (with the exception of dumbed down things like inventory, weapons etc.) was better, too)...ME3 however was crap (and still is - despite extended (crap) cut)

greetings LAX

I'm craving a patch like this, can't get back into the game without it. I love the game, but hate that I can't move about it how I want. Please give us some timeframe for this walk patch (at least)

This was the first game I've ever pre-ordered in my life.  It will also be the last.

Actually I think they just put this thread up so we don't flood the other forums about PC issues, new players don't realky come into this section.

Serious Doubt any if the devs is reading this.

Now while I'm waiting for some more news about the forthcoming patch/s - I've been messing with SweetFX settings for DA:I and thought I would share my first couple of comparison sample videos - There's no gameplay as such so you should be safe watching ;) ;

I didn't play the game yet, so I can't comment on what is broken and what's not. The 1st priority is to fix all stability issues with the game so everyone can play it. The 2nd priority is to work on the KB&M controls (which I afraid some are tied to Frostbite 3 limitations, as it is an FPS engine and not nearly as flexible as Unreal 3 in regards to alterations and modding).

The most important thing this forum lacks is patience. You want things here and now, patches like that aren't made in a day and as much as these fix things they can also break things. Be thankfull that you aren't a multiplayer community of SC2, where things move very slowly (expect Legacy of the Void to have at least 4 months of open beta), where each patch is anounced like month and a half perior and you have all this time a test period.

We got at the time the Extended Cut, which I thought wasn't really possible, so while the outcry is much less severe because of the amount of people involved, I trust BW to at least push the controls to the right direction (DA:O: I played almost exclusively on tactical cam, like Neverwinter Nights), but again, it will take time.

No - no no no!

We don't lack patience - we have been giving them MANY CHANCES over the last years (a lot of people have not only given them a second (after DA2) but a third chance (after ME3)...).

They are the ones who should now try to get their act together again and not lie to us - again (!)...they lied with ME3 (many different endings - and while, on paper, that is true, the only difference is IMHO the colour of an explosion and subtle differences in the cutscenes directly after -.-) and now they did so again (I am paraphrasing: "we produce this game mainly for PC" - my ass, why aren't the controls really working (tac cam anyone? auto-attack? etc.) and why do we have crashes and frame-rate-drops etc.?)

greetings LAX

ps: Isn't it our love for their products that keeps us coming back (no wounder we are passionate about what they are doing, is it?) - hell, in a way we are like a dog that is beaten by his or her owner, but still does not leave them...they misslead us and we follow instead of calling them out (and following through with not purchasing another game...but that's what they are counting on, after all no other company makes games quite like those from Bioware, so they can afford to dismiss what we are saying...like they dismissed what we said about them taking out healing and giving us only 8 ability slots...-.-)

Well, I finally stopped fighting reality and plugged in a controller.  The act of playing the game is greatly improved, the controls feel much more intuitive and fluid and say goodbye to the search sonar!  Tactical camera is functional in outdoor areas although it's still not ideal and I although haven't looked at it inside buildings or caves yet, I imagine it will still be problematic.

In short if your major issues are mouse and keyboard related, go with the controller, your life will be better for it.   :) :)

I still can't play the game.

Constant lag with gtx 760 MSI TF OC + I5-4570k Processor + 8GB Ram, getting 18 FPS on lowest settings. No heating issues on a clean PC that has no problems with any other game. Direct X and GPU drivers are all updated as well, so I don't get DX crashes it just closes without any reason at all. Game crashes every 5 minutes or after any multiplayer game

Extremely long loading times, stuttering, and other smaller issues.

Please update the game to be in a playable state, this is hurting your reputation.

Just a heads up, I contacted EA today, and spoke with a very nice representative by the name of Luke. I was able to get a refund for my purchase of Dragon Age Inquisition; no fuss or run around. I explained to him my dissatisfaction with the last several purchases from EA, the worst was the Dice fiasco with BF4, and that after shelling out money for another Deluxe title that was in need of serious patching, I did not want to wait weeks or months down the road in hopes of them fixing this game. Perhaps later if it's fixed, I'll repurchase it, but for now, I'll be content on the fact that they refunded my money, and took a right step in the direction of customer service.

Cheers

I've been using a controller as well. Wanna see the look my PC gave me after plugging a controller into it?

I actually asked about a brief demonstration about this sort of thing on the Suggestion And Feedback forum and was treated as a pariah by some posters for asking for spoilers. These side quests are no better than free browser MMOs. They are not worthy to be included in the term RPG, in my honest opinion.

But Bioware discussed making Dragon Age into an MMO as far back as the Awakenings expansion. DA:I is the MMO launch pad.

I remember that discussion and they wanted to go all anime on us.    Whatever.  lol

They are working on another Mass Effect, there definitely will be at least one more.

So much for the original Trilogy....trilogy means three Bioware.   But as soon as the "Good Doctors" left...that flew out the window. :)

whatever happened to options??

They create a game that can only be played one way?

I want auto attack on the Space bar<< can't do that!! Why not? Change the bindings! Didn't allow for that. omg

I have a Razer KB! Can bind to anything if allowed to! And a Razer mouse.

I used to play WoW. Imagine releasing DA:I to a subscription based MMO?

Very shortsighted. Game is half finished in my view. I will wait for update

There's always something, isn't there? BioWare has created a universe in Dragon Age that so many of us love, which is why so many of you are pissed right now. I bought a new graphics card for my PC just for this game, so I spent about $200 for DA:I standard edition. Worth every penny. The cut scenes aren't there to hide poor development, they're there to tell the story. And then people are pissed they aren't getting patches out quickly enough? Don't you want the patches to get it right the first time? This whole thread consists of people being pissed at BioWare after they said they're gonna FIX IT! What is wrong with you people? Go make a game of this scale and depth, and we'll ream you because you can't click to loot....

We could do with more working game and less lag/cutscenes botched direct x.      Evidently the digital deluxe editions have some sort of issue,   they've only acknowledged that on Xbox I  (go figure,  no mention of PC)      I played the HELL out of Dragon Age Origins from day one when it launched.   Loved that game...then  DA II came along...played for 12 hours, put it down ..never looked at it again.   Poor in comparison to DA:O just poor.

Reason I am peeved right now...$73.00 later and I can't enter the game.   Got in once by some sort of fluke...servers were down yesterday evidently (couldn't access cloud storage)  and today I just keep getting the same error message:    game wants direct x 10   I have direct x 11.        Its not because I can't click to loot ..its because whoever programmed this and ported over to PC...didn't do it right.   My product DOESN'T WORK.     That's what's wrong with me..what's wrong with you?     pfft.

What they dont'realise is - they are loosign credability in PC community fast, and as soon as another company learns to write NPCs and story as Bioware - we will all take our near 60% of the market there and Bioware will slowly die out...

This is largely how I feel. There are many reasons I dislike Bioware, and even more reasons I dislike EA Games. That I'm still buying Bioware games is less about loyalty, and more about being part of a captive market. Having the latest game cause my entire PC to crash in spite of exceeding the recommended requirements is merely the straw that broke the camel's back. The second another gaming company starts to consistently release RPGs with entertaining dialogue, good character development, and a diverse cast of characters (e.g. female, gay, trans), I'll happily abandon Bioware forever.

i must say, i am baffled by all these negative posts about bad performance or bad kb+m controls, yes tac-cam can be quite clunky but i don't see it as a reason to ask for a refund. Performance wise i can say that, yes there is sometimes notable impact on framerate especially after long sessions but after lowering shadows to high and hbao full to plain hbao, most other options are "defaults" so high/ultra but i have noticed some positive improvement. As far as im concerned DA:I has been a great game so far, definately better than anything i have played for years and i have dabbled in AC's/CoD's and other so called AAA games.

to whom it concerns i am running on phenom 2 x6 1055T, msi gtx 780 oc, 8gb ram and plain old sata3 7200rpm hdd.

P.S remember to defragment your hdd's because from experience i can say, depending on the game, that it can have significant impact on performance or even ability to start the game as do every extra program you have running on background while playing.

edit. forgot to add that i also turned off MSAA

Worst game release since Alien Colonial Marines or even worser ACM was a bag full of lies and disapointment but i COULD play the game. DA:I i cant play ! Crashes and bugs all over the place ! In fact i paid 60 bugs for nothing more then a new icon in my origin libary and nothing more.

And yes i did everything they told me in the posts and the workarounds. Every patch every update and after 6 day the only thing i got is a fresh installed OS, Origin and DA:I and nothing more on my pc. But guess ? It still crashes every 5 minutes. And yes i got the recommended system requirement.

Bioware and EA could you please let me play the game i paid for ? PLEASE ?

I don't get how the game could have been released in this state. What was actually happening during that delay? It certainly wasn't fixing the peformances issues, bugs, glitches, stuttering, 30fps cutscene lock, making useable PC controls or any other kind of optimisations. I can only imagine how terrible the game was before that delay.
