From my perspective this game was not ready for PCs. They had a working product that was incomplete. EA pushed it out the door. To be honest, I am grateful that Bioware is taking steps to finish the game properly. I just feel we purchased an early access version without being told that. I'm not happy about that but that is the crap EA does. Patch 6 better have mouse and keyboard issues fixed to be more like a PC game. The next patch can deal with the crummy console UI and a later patch to expand their terribly implemented tactics. When those things are in place that's the day the game should've been released. Bioware is listening. Patch 5 was a very positive step forward. Patch 6 will be another step closer to making Inquisition more complete. I am still hopeful.
Definitely. Even if ALL of the KB+M improvements the game needs are not in patch 6, as long as some are, I will be happy with it. It is a patch so, I do expect game improvements, many based on our suggestions and feedback.
Like you, I'm certain EA was the reason the game was released in a somewhat as is state and, Bioware is doing all they can to fix it and, keep EA happy at the same time. As long as they keep trying, they are good in my book. Even if we never see 100% of what we want, try is all we can ask and, they are doing that so, as long as they keep it going, I'm happy.

It is easy to say that EA is responsible for pushing DAI release, but this is shifting the blame.
EA didn't limit toolbar to 8 abilities, didn't remove every single PC attribute, etc, etc.
It was Bioware staff who created this. Darrah, Laidlaw, Lee and Gaider. You can't put the blame onto EA.
EA is what it is. If they had forced it out the door too soon, then you would have had missing tactics, only 1 1/2 mouse buttons and all sorts of glitches.
Bioware staff never even tried to implement those things.
It was very obvious when Laidlaw and Lee made that video. He was so uncomfortable with a mouse in his hand!
But EA didn't force him to make that video. He did it knowing the state of the game. That cannot be avoided.
It wasn't live so there was ample time to edit and make good. So they read it and approved it!

I do NOT condone what EA has done. They lied about the PC version and for some of us, gave us nothing for $70. Nice looking coaster though. EA is going to continue this business practice. Oh we can sit here whine, ****** and complain until Doomsday. But words on a forum won't mean a thing. I sent a letter to EA. I sent a notice to the Better Business Bureau. But I'm just one person. One person does not change a thing. But at the same time. I now know better about EA. o pay for Will I buy DA4? No. Because of this business practice, I will no longer purchase EA products. And I hope I at least cheated EA a bit by buying a used version of DAI.
And for that reason, for the principal, I won't be buying a DLC nor ME4 nor another DA nor EA. And that saddens me.
I will happily accept a FREE DAI DLC as a way of an apology (as long as they fix the pc issues)

Unfortunately, at least for me, fixing the stuff that is "fixable" is not going to change the fact that the game, as it stands for me, is mostly a very pretty snoozefest.

Alright. So I decided something today. And I'm going to tell you my experience. This is not a jab at any of us who have been waiting...oh so patiently...for Bioware to fix the PC version of the game. So please, read carefully and do not jump to conclusions.
For months, like many of you, I have been waiting for the PC version of DAI to be fixed. I have a good system, I have posted the specs before. And as I stated in the past, I was able to run the game on high with my NVidia cards. Then...EA/Bioware patched the game. It wasn't until Patch 3 when the game was completely broken for me. I couldn't run anything higher than the lowest settings when only a month or two before I could run it on high with only one effect set to low. Which was fine. I didn't need the effect anyways and was happy with what I saw. A beautiful world. But after Patch 3, besides not being able to go about Low on the settings, the game stuttered worse than ever. Framerate tanked into the teens on my system. And I tried every fix there was. Nothing worked. At all. Repaired constantly which fixed nothing.
So, I shelved the game. Upset, furious that I spent the money to buy the game. About a month ago, maybe a little less, I had told you guys I was considering the console version because, as we have seen, the game is optimized for consoles. Both because of the rendering engine and the control scheme. So I spent the past month doing extensive research about the console version and the consoles themselves. And just today, I purchased a PS4 because it was hardware-wise, much better than the XBox One. I bought Dragon Age Inquisition for the PS4. And I'm playing it now.
And please understand, I say this with no small amount of sheer disappointment...and yet, pleased. As ashamed to say that as I am. Playing the game on the PS4, it looks and runs utterly amazing. This should run just as beautifully on the PC. And yes, I understand that there are those who do NOT have issues on the PC. I understand this. Great. I'm glad for those of you that do not have issues. But for those of us that have had issues. I want to say that eventually, DAI will run just as good, if not better, on the PC than it does on the PS4. But in my heart, and what I have experienced with EA/Bioware, I hate to say this...really, I do...but I don't think even in our wildest dreams, the game will EVER be optimized for the PC. Ever. It would take a modder to completely dissect the game to make it run the way it should on the PC. Someone who can tear apart the engine to make it work beautifully. But without the tools provided to them, I don't think we'll ever get DAI to run great on the PC.
Please, please understand I want to be wrong. I really want to. I want to see DAI on the PC blow the consoles out of the water. But with what I'm seeing right now. I'm sorry. I just have no more hope for the PC version. If any of you do decide to go the console route, go with the Playstation 4. It has far better hardware (a better AMD video card than the XBox One and uses DDR5 RAM as opposed to the XB1 that uses DDR3 RAM). It's a far better experience. But understand I am a PC gamer FIRST and FOREMOST. And I will continue to fight alongside you guys and pray that Bioware will get their heads out of their asses.
First up...glad to see you are able to enjoy the game now!
However this says it all to me....it's a console game and will never be a PC game.
If BioWere were going to optimize it for PC they would have said so by now...they could and should have done it by now...

I don't see it that way. They, Bioware, seem pretty surprised by our response to the pc version. And then there is that whole waiting to the last mintue to even show anything or talk about pc version before release.

Pretty sure 345.20 is just a modified clone of 344.75/344.80....with the security updates added and MFAA
It's like going one step forward but four steps back
Pretty much like BioWere patches....
I actually found 344.75 ran the best on my Asus GTX 770 i had the latest driver (before the latest
) and had no end of DXhung and game crashes, rolling back to 344.75 fixed them all for me, i still get nasty stutter but its not crashing..
Maybe others have similar issues and they redid those drivers?

Nvidia updated all their driver branches with the same security fixes...
347.52 already has the fixes in...
They have released a "hotfix" driver 347.71 https://forums.gefor...-driver-347-71/ not had time to test yet...
I asked yesterday after a fix for texture flickering and whiteout fog and was pleased to get a reply...waiting for update...

Public tests do not mean every bug will be fixed or game will be better than its current state. Zenimax Online and Blizzard do it as well. Sometimes, they fix something and break some other thing. We are also familiar with this from the past patches of DAI. However, some bugs just can not be fixed because of the design choices and/or engine capabilities but it will be a lot easier to adress the problems.
All in all, it's a good step into the positive direction. I hope at least the major bugs that the testers report can be fixed.

On the deck of the five month-old Apathy, Darth Darrah is pleased with the results that his engineers has provided for them.
"Sir, we still have no decent controls on this ship, but the Greed and Arrogance have left space dock and now starting their victory run through the galaxy," said Sith Apprentice Amelia. "Both Generals Pierse and Schumaker are taking their starships to different sectors to show their dominance."
"Excellent... what about the Apathy?" asked the very pleased Darrah.
"It's steering and tactical assets are still a work in progress," stated Ameila.
"Will it get fixed in this patch?" asked Darrah.
"Those answers are held by General Intern," stated Amelia.
"Go back to your arena and continue working for the greater good of the Empire," commanded Darrah.
"Yes, my master," said Amelia.
"General Intern! Status?" barked Darrah.
"We have another beta test sir, but we're still patching patches and we just keep finding new challenges with the Frostbite engine," said Intern before being force-choked by Darrah.
"I don't care what you fix.." said Darrah releasing Intern from the invisible choke hold. "We still have rebels in the PC Community Concerns that want to beta test thing..."
Then in quiet unison, they both begin to laugh. They laugh in the darkened bridge of the Apathy and it is witnessed by four brave Jedi cloaked in the darkness.

The hyperbole is strong in this thread. Personally, I have had a whole lot of fun with this game on my PC. Much less buggy than anything Bethesda has put out. I'm glad they're listening to customer feedback and patching the game but for my money the experience was very playable and enjoyable right out of the "box". May reduced angst be with you all, you dramatic mothertruckers. ;-)

Absolutely this...
We all know what EA is about, but design choices are 100% on Bioware..
Its all speculation, regardless.. Assuming EA forced the scheduling, decided to sell before xmas, etc.. We knew that before anything, just because EA is on the cover.. That goes with-out saying...
Removing Tactic options, poorly implemented tactical camera, all the mkb problems, lazy story, filler quests, empty zones, lazy idea of "difficulty" (just ramp up dmg/hp), etc. etc. etc.. These all fall on Bioware..

And I think a better UI and, mouse binding at least, probably more would have been added for PC had they been given the time. It's pretty clear that doing those is not so easy as many here seem to think or the mouse binding would have been in patch 5.

'Live up to their promise' someone wrote above about Witcher3 and Pillars of Eternity.
Live Long and Prosper because that is exactly what every single company will say to promote their products. What makes you think these games will be exactly what they claim?
I have beta tested patch 5 for portions of the game and will be beta testing 6 as best I can. I enjoy the game with all its shortcomings and will enjoy it more with the forthcoming improvements.
Currently in Haven level 3 with a new mage character waiting for patch 6 beta to start.

Were that so, they should have been up front about it and told us.
I would still have bought DA:I knowing that improvements were in the works.

Funny, the thing that lead me to buy DAI was DA2. But the game I played I bought 2 years after its initial release. Lesson learned, the way things are, never going to buy a title at launch again the way business is being done by the big game publishers. Wasteland 2 was an exception though, awesome awesome awesome.

Agreed, even though California and the Los Angeles' quests in particular were a buggy mess in the first month...
