THIS game is going to get overlooked soon because of Pillars of Eternity (amongst others).  Any time that Boooware developers would like to improve the game (for PC)...now would be the time.  Your game will become increasingly irrelevant as time goes by.  Just a hint and reminder.

I'm done with isometrical RPGs since ages ago. Some nostalgics trying to resurrect them means nothing.

If it's isometric, then I agree with your assessment.  I've bought and re-bought the Infinity-engine games allover again and replayed them, and I desire a third dimensional aspect to my adventuring games now.  I can still go play them for the epic gameplay, but the replayability gets less and lesser....as I replay them more.  This stupid game (Inquisition) made me replay a lot of older games.

I'd enjoy a refresh of Neverwinter Nights - especially the Hordes of Underdark.  Otherwise?  I'd enjoy a true, 3-D pausable RPG game.  Other than THIS mess.

This "Conal Pierce" posted the specifics about "patch 5" today....why?  It didn't address ANY of the issues that have been outlined here.  I saw it on the news & announcements thread which is locked and only he can post there.  What a waste of time.  Talk about "cosmetic" changes....who would even notice?  Could Booooware care less?  Not possible.

These patch notes made me give my thoughts too.

I've read this forum intensely for 2 months now, and when i bought GTX 970 game became playable. Just in time for this:

http://blog.bioware....black-emporium/

and boy! was i excited!
"Patch 5 will be the biggest patch we’ve released to date, and it addresses a number of key concerns for our community."

Until.. now. None!! NONE of the key issues were addressed in any way. I'm forced to play with controller and like to play with nightmare + friendly fire, so it can be overwhelming at points.. ;) But i love the lore and the setting, i just wish they would finally fix the damn "tactical" camera. To get stuck in objects with cursor.. really? Wow.

Played 70 hours so far.. gonna complete the game, just because before i started playing this, i took a trip to memorylane and played origins again (this time all the dlc's with ultimate edition), finally played Da2 through too, and even went and read Asunder for this game. So. I was set with my new graphics card!

Well... you all know what i mean.. it's been way too long. They can't fix any of these kb+m, taccam, inventory etc issues. Its the engine or something. Just need to accecpt it. :(

The only PC specific change is a mouselook toggle which makes the combat even less tactical and bring the gameplay closer to controller play? Ok, exactly i was looking for to abandon the forum again. Have a nice month everyone!

Looks at patch 5 notes.........  :(  ......What happened to everything else that was said to be in patch 5....i.e., autoattack, the black emporium and the mirror and the other stuff?

So, patch 5 fixed "exploits".  Heaven forbid some solo player might "cheat" the system and cheese their enemies to dust with near miss spam.  I fear what patch 5 will remove from my game.  I started playing between patch 1 and 2, and each subsequent patch keeps taking away functionality.  My characters can't have scars now, and haven't since patch 3.  A host of minor in game glitches started to happen, but, I told myself I wasn't going to whine about it since they said they were working on patch 5.

I give up.  I've played through on 2 job classes, just going to trash a third run through, check it out in 6 months or so.

4 months, 590 pages,~1.5mil views, beta patch program and... 1% of PC community concerns addressed so far. Wow... I am literally speechless.

They made a NDA for beta program... why? There's nothing there at all. But what is there are the same EAware defenders, praising the holy glory of the now gained ability to tint your armor or collect your !@#$ shards... This somehow improved the game 10x fold for them. I... I don't know what to say to that. I have a 50+ Gbs of wasted space on my HDD waiting for some divine intervention, but as the time passes and I lose interest of ever completing the game, I lean towards freeing up this place for something else.

UI changes? Control scheme? Tactical improvements, additional slots? Nope.

4 months and TacCam is still useless and seasoned with great gigantic UI. 4 months and you still can't pan a camera by touching the edge of a screen... Good.

I can tint my armor now. Wow, this is exactly what I needed.

Yep.  Pretty much called it.  Support for the PC has stopped.  I'm a month early but pretty damn close.  In the words of Angry Joe.  "You dun fucked it up, Bioware."

Let me give you proper thanks.  Really.  Thank you for proving to your PC community that you do not care.  Thank you for ignoring us.  Thank you for making it so much easier for me to pass on to other gamers that they should avoid all Bioware/EA products from this point forward.  Thank you for proving that you deserve the Worst Compnay in America award (The Golden Poo award).  Thank you for saving me money from this point forward.  Now please, go spew your lies to someone who might give a damn.

Hey guys, is PC version updated? I just checked it, but it didn't seem to be updated at all.

If not, when is it going to be updated to 1.05?

LOL this is hilarious...patch 5 notes in the patch 4 thread...patch 5 another inconsequential nothing...unless "improved stability" hides a huge performance improvement/makes the game playable to the many that can't...

Whatever...PC version of this game is not coming...you are being strung along until you get bored and go away...same as DAII

Cue flurry of BioWere apologists and shill posts:

Hey folks, we don't even have patch 5 "in our hands" yet.

The beta testers have told us that they have seen noticeable improvements in performance.

That's what I'm looking for most in this patch.

We have patch notes, but we also know that Bio/EA hasn't exactly done the best job with them of late either.

Let's actually give the patch a try (once it's released) before we get too worked up about it either way.

Firstly, patch 5 has not yet been released.

I do share your frustrations and I assure you, it is NOT because of any imagined game engine limitations they can't fix the issues with the game.

The reason they can't fix these issues is because they are simply too incompetent.

They even make public excuses about the engine being so complex and it being so very difficult to do certain things.

But meantime back at the ranch, they managed to create physics and animations for 4-legged creatures - something they said could not be done, but they can't fix STANDARD things like proper KB&M controls, Tac Cam behaviour, UI, etc. etc.

Battlefield 4 uses the exact same game engine as DAI. That game has a ton of UI customization options, proper key mappings scheme and whatnot.

Bioware simply FAILED to deliver on their promise of a "PC" game.

Not sure how you got to the conclusion that mouse look results in less tactical gameplay....but whatever.

I was very much looking forward to the launch of patch 5, and it still has some great changes in the patch list I see (storage chest, improved stability etc.), but there are features I'm missing that I thought would be in the patch...  :?  I'll be waiting for patch 6 then.

Edit: Guess not, patch notes have been updated, time for me to game B)

The one regarding the Amulet of Power (didn't work for me this morning). Somebody in another thread reported that the exploit still works in Still Ruins.

Back when i was in awe when Half Life launched i didnt think being able to put 4 legged animals in games in 2014 would count as great accomplishment for developers, regardless of the tehcnology. I would laughed my a. off if someone said it to me then! Kind of funny. :D

"Mouse Look" by this definition means that you no longer have to hold down the right mouse button if your play style consists of holding W to move forward and mouse (with right button held down) to change direction.

That is really all it is.

But you will not be forced to use Mouse Look. It will be an on/off toggle.

You can safely ignore it entirely if you wish.

As for 4-legged creatures, I absolutely agree. Bioware is making themselves look like absolute amateurs.

Some of the previously-listed patch 5 features are being worked on again based on our testing feedback.

Meanwhile, we're testing the next bits.

Yes, it's slow. Yes, it should have been done earlier. But, it is moving.
